Spell and ability difficulties fall into one of four categories: introductory, which can be used immediately with a new character; basic, which require about 10 ranks; advanced, which require around 100 ranks; and esoteric, which may require 200 or more ranks to use.
Introductory spells act as basic spells for out-of-guild casting.
