444 World Jousting Tournament is the seventh worldwide tournament to be hosted, however, instead of by various organizations within Elanthia, it will be run by the Heart and Helm Jousting Club through Zalinyar

Contestants qualify for one of seven skill-based divisions (the 6th being cut into a, b and C to try and get matches).

Rules

  • Contestants may compete in any qualifier regardless of citizenship. (If a contestant fails to qualify, they may try again at the next qualifier.)
  • Contestants will verify their skill in polearms and shield usage via the TELLEXP command. They will be placed in the appropriate division based on a formula of these two skills. The formula that will be used in every qualifier and the finals is the same. It is the sum of your polearm and shield divided by two.
  • No spells of any kind are allowed to be in effect. (This is for simplicity, so that the hosts don't have to waste time arguing or consulting Elanthipedia to determine which spells might affect the outcome.)
  • No stat or skill buffs are allowed. This includes (but is not limited to) spells, supernatural abilities, Empathic links, and constellation jewelry.
  • Anyone found to be cheating will be automatically disqualified.
  • No mulligans. If a contestant jumps off their horse to avoid impact (because they are not properly equipped), they forfeit the match.

FOR THE FINALS: At the Championship ~~ Anyone who won a division joust at any provincial qualifier will be eligible to joust in the championship. The same rules that applied for the qualifiers, will apply to the Championship Tournament. If you qualified in a lower bracket, and your stats place you into the next bracket, we may need to adjust your placement in the Championship.

The reason for this is that time has gone by for people to have been training up, or not training at all to stay at the "top" of the bracket. It evens out the playing field.

lance strikes head 3 points
opponent is unseated/unhorsed 5 (instant victory)

*Shield strikes do not count unless the lance breaks.


The contestants will joust until one of them has earned a total of five points.
