You immediately will your consciousness deep into the flows of fate. (Mozzik becomes very still, eyes unfocused.) - prediction + 420 astro (AuS and capped CJ not enough to get to the next level)

After a few moments, the mists of time begin to part. You see yourself eviscerating a scaly seordmaor. You see a chill rain splattering a muddy trail. You see a mouse being stalked by a cat.

Suddenly your mind receives a numbing jolt! The world fades to black as a giant, grinning skull places its mouth over your head and begins to chew. You sense the visions involve using halberds.

The world around you fades from sight as you turn your gaze inward. A few images materialize before your mind's eye and you pick out the following:

A vivid fiery moonblade that disappears and is replaced by a halberd. It hangs in the air a moment before fading from sight. An Elothean man stands in the background, watching. Roundtime: 5 sec.

The affinities are: Compact - Cage of Light Gypsies - Seer's Sense Keepers - Unleash Monks - Crystal Spike Nomads - Clear Vision Pethians - Piercing Gaze Tezirites - Tezirah's Veil

Most spell affinities reduce the difficulty of its spell and the amount of mana needed for any given level of effect. The only exceptions to that are Cage of Light and Clear Vision. Cage of Light affinity does not reduce the spell's difficulty, and Clear Vision affinity does neither of those things.

The amount of reduction is not consistent and some of the affinities have other effects. For example, Clear Vision affinity gives a generous, flat increase in duration instead of the standard package.

Affinities do not increase the power of a spell above 100%, they are focused on making the spell more convenient to use. Nomads do not get a larger Perception boost out of Clear Vision, they get to wait longer before refreshing it; Monks do not hit harder with Crystal Spike, but they can cast it cheaper. Affinities are a minor feature of the sects, there to help highlight the different themes in Lunar magic rather than significantly impact your play.

I love SLS, and I fear for its future as an awesomely unique spell.

To spill the beans on the constellation effect because I'm so awesome:

Mongoose is the best because it is the only constellation that predicts off of both offense and defense which makes it both fast(defense) and powerful(offense).

The only other constellation that seems to get a dual boost is Albatross from speed and accuracy because it predicts off of lore(accuracy) and defense(speed).

Spider is the most reliable because it's the only constellation that's out yearlong that boosts power since it predicts on offense.

I'm positive on the impact of Defense and Offense. Lore also seems reliable, and the other skill sets don't seem to matter at all.

Defense - More Speed Offense - More Power Lore - More Accuracy Magic - Nothing (I use to believe it was duration, but it isn't.) Survival - Nothing

Of course these are old tests, but I'm sure nothing big has changed. At least, Mongoose was still king last time I was playing with SLS.
