Originally released with Droughtman's Challenge 457.
Strifestone is found in thin veins scattered throughout the once-ravaged lands near where the Great Barrier sealed away the Necromancer Lyras Maorgwelder. Prolonged exposure to the arcane corruption left by the Devourer's journey across the Barrier has embedded physical evidence of magical blight into the stones of the area, giving them their distinctive, multi-toned interiors.
Common Description
Strifestone is a dense, opaque gem with a layered interior resembling corrupted bruises in various stages of healing. The central mass is a purple so dark it is nearly black with swirls of dark blue, transitioning outward through ichorous green streaks, vivid violets, and dark crimson veins. Though the stone is often found in large pieces, jewelers are particularly careful to shape each piece to reveal the colorful layers when creating smaller decorative items.
