Ragespike spinel is occasionally discovered among the salt crystals harvested from Lake Ratamipak, where the Heke'mhhg River empties into the Velaka Desert near the city of Muspar'i. For many years, the gem's origin remained unknown, as specimens appeared only sporadically and without any obvious pattern. Careful observation eventually revealed a connection between their formation and lightning strikes upon the lake, but only when the water reaches a precise combination of temperature and salinity. The rarity of these conditions ensures that new stones remain uncommon despite the lake's extensive salt harvests.
Common Description
The translucent gem possesses a clear matrix surrounding a vivid scarlet inclusion that spirals boldly through its center. The sharply defined crimson formation twists upward in a narrow helix, the disparate elements together creating the visual impression of a spike of vicious rage cutting through an otherwise placid disposition.
