Originally released with Droughtman's Challenge 457.
Calamity pearls are harvested from mollusks inhabiting the waters of the Reshal Sea, particularly those clustered around long-sunken shipwrecks. Divers have noted that the finest specimens are often recovered from shells attached directly to weathered hulls, corroded anchors, and other submerged debris. Whether the unusual coloration results from mineral-rich sediments, decaying metal, or some other influence remains a matter of debate among pearl merchants and collectors alike.
Common Description
The lustrous pearl displays a smoky grey body marked by irregular rust-brown streaks and scattered black speckling. Subtle variations in color drift beneath the smooth nacreous surface, while the darker inclusions create a striking contrast against the muted tones of the surrounding material.
