Cambin just arrived.

With a quick adjustment of the instrument, you continue to bow a haunting requiem on your bass viol.

Cambin glances up at the sky.

You continue playing on your bass viol.

You gaze up at the sky.

You finish playing a haunting requiem on your bass viol.

Cambin asks, You know it's storming, right?

You blink.

Cambin asks, And you're out here fiddling?

You gaze at Cambin.

Cambin smiles at you.

(Nawain smiles after a long moment, hair dripping.)

You say in a Rakash accent, It's a nice storm.

You gaze up at the sky.

Cambin glances up at the sky.

You begin a haunting requiem on your bass viol, your skill in your craft showcased in every note.

You sing in a mezzo-soprano voice:

A girl upon the shore did ask a favour of the sea,

Return my blue-eyed sailor boy safely home to me!

Forgive me if I ask too much, I will not ask for more,

But I shall weep until he sleeps again safe on the shore.

You continue playing on your bass viol.

You sing in a mezzo-soprano voice:

As though the sea did hear her plea, a vision did appear:

The drifting tip of some wrecked ship came floating ever near!

A figure there did cling to it, approaching more and more,

As if to find on some strange tide, the safety of the shore.

You continue playing on your bass viol.

You sing in a mezzo-soprano voice:

So give a sailor not your heart,

    Lest sorrow you do seek.

For true love shall be torn apart

    By favours from the sea.

You sing in a mezzo-soprano voice:

My love, she cried as she espied the figure on the spar.

His clean white shirt was drenched and torn, he must have floated far!

She thought with bliss how she would kiss the lips she did adore,

And oh, how sweet to see his feet once more upon shore.

You continue playing on your bass viol.

You sing in a mezzo-soprano voice:

So give a sailor not your heart,

    Lest sorrow you do seek.

For true love shall be torn apart

    By favours from the sea.

With a quiet, ringing cadence, you continue to play a haunting requiem on your bass viol.

You sing in a mezzo-soprano voice:

As she drew near, she felt the fear that something was astray.

His mouth was slack and his blue eyes stared blindly at the day.

And in a daze, she turned her gaze from the corpse the driftwood bore,

And the cold cold sea pushed ruthlessly, til he found the shore once more.

You continue playing on your bass viol.

You finish playing a haunting requiem on your bass viol.

You sing in a mezzo-soprano voice:

So give a sailor not your heart,

    Lest sorrow you do seek.

For true love shall be torn apart

    By favours from the sea.

You sing in a mezzo-soprano voice:

Now fishermen, they cast their nets like miners pan for gold,

And sailors push off from the docks and pray the gales will hold.

The sea she takes souls silently, but sometimes, she gives more.

And someone weeps as her lover sleeps, now safe upon the shore.

You gaze off to the north.

You glance up at the sky.

The rain is pouring from the sky in a driving squall.

The driving rain falls heavily on the surface of your bass viol.

Cambin says, You seem in a mournful mood. Captivity weighs on you, no doubt.

(Nawain doesn't answer, but continues to gaze off towards the north.)

Cambin asks, Tek off in that direction?

Cambin nods.

You give a slight nod.

You say in a Rakash accent, He won't stop moving. He can't have slept.

You sigh.

Cambin nods.

Cambin gets a pretty glass bottle of Tildi's Apple Blossom Tipple from inside his armor pack.

Cambin asks, Drink?

Cambin offers you a pretty glass bottle of Tildi's Apple Blossom Tipple.  Enter ACCEPT to accept the offer or DECLINE to decline it.  The offer will expire in 30 seconds.

You smile.

You put your bow in your slender rugursora.

You accept Cambin's offer and are now holding a pretty glass bottle of Tildi's Apple Blossom Tipple.

You smile at a pretty glass bottle of Tildi's Apple Blossom Tipple.

You nod.

Grinning, you pull a large swig from a pretty glass bottle of Tildi's Apple Blossom Tipple.  The taste of crisply sweet apples with just a hint of sugared vanilla fills your mouth.

[WARNING:  Drinking large quantities of this could make you unconscious!]

Roundtime: 5 seconds

You say in a Rakash accent, Mmm.

You nod.

Cambin gets a bottle of green absinthe from inside his armor pack.

Grinning, you pull a large swig from a pretty glass bottle of Tildi's Apple Blossom Tipple.  The taste of crisply sweet apples with just a hint of sugared vanilla fills your mouth.

Roundtime: 5 seconds

Cambin takes a sip of his absinthe.

Cambin stares up with a look of wonder.

You glance at Cambin, a male Elf.

You softly ask Cambin in a Rakash accent, What do you see, vrali?

Grinning, you pull a large swig from a pretty glass bottle of Tildi's Apple Blossom Tipple.  The taste of crisply sweet apples with just a hint of sugared vanilla fills your mouth.

Roundtime: 5 seconds

You put your viol in your slender rugursora.

Cambin says, A Gnome giving a Kaldar a piggieback ride in the sky.

Cambin giggles.

You blink.

Cambin taps a bottle of green absinthe that he is holding.

Cambin says, It gives strange visions.

You nod to Cambin.

Grinning, you pull a large swig from a pretty glass bottle of Tildi's Apple Blossom Tipple.  The taste of crisply sweet apples with just a hint of sugared vanilla fills your mouth.

Roundtime: 5 seconds

Cambin asks, And you?

You ask in a Rakash accent, What do I see?

Cambin nods.

Cambin asks, Anything?

You say in a Rakash accent, I see an elf.

You smile at Cambin.

Cambin laughs!

Grinning, you pull a large swig from a pretty glass bottle of Tildi's Apple Blossom Tipple.  The taste of crisply sweet apples with just a hint of sugared vanilla fills your mouth.

Roundtime: 5 seconds

You gaze up at the sky.

(Nawain closes her eyes and tilts her head up, letting the rain soak her entirely.)

(Cambin waits for the drug he added to the tipple to take effect.)

Steeling yourself, you tilt a pretty glass bottle of Tildi's Apple Blossom Tipple back and down the entire thing!  Spluttering, the taste of crisply sweet apples with just a hint of sugared vanilla fills your mouth as some of the bottle spills out of your mouth.

Roundtime: 8 seconds

You whisper to Cambin, OOC: Desired effect unconscious?

You lean against the fore mast.

Cambin whispers, OOC: I'm not sure. Receptive to programming.

You whisper to Cambin, OOC: *nodnodnod*

(Nawain slumps against the mast, blinking in confusion. She looks at the tipple, then starts to look suspicious, but becomes thoroughly distracted by her hand for some reason.)

You waggle your fingers mystically.

Cambin grins.

You say in a Rakash accent, Mm. T.. tipple.

You nod to Cambin.

You smile at Cambin.

You gaze at Cambin.

Cambin says, It's good stuff.

Cambin nods.

(Nawain keeps gazing at you as expression sort of bleeds out of her face. She slowly slides down the mast to sit quietly, bottle cradled in her lap.)

You sit down.

Cambin paces back and forth.

Cambin says, Ah, poor rasa. This is today's lesson. <redacted Word>.

(Nawain blinks slowly, listening impassively, absorbing every word like it is oxygen.)

Cambin asks, If you can learn this lesson I won't have to hurt you today. Do you think you can do that?

(Nawain blinks again, then bobs her head in a slow, jerky motion.)

You say in a Rakash accent, Y-yes, vrali.

You gaze at Cambin.

Cambin says, <redacted Word>

You slowly say in a Rakash accent, <redacted Word>

You blink.

Cambin says, When you hear this word, you'll feel like you do now.

You shake your head, trying to clear it.  Oddly enough, you don't feel quite so drunk any more.

Cambin says, Maybe you should have another drink, rasa.

You nod in agreement.

(Nawain drinks deeply.)

You say in a Rakash accent, Like.. I do now.

You gaze at Cambin.

Cambin asks, So, when you hear <redacted Word>, you'll feel like you do now. Yes?

You say in a Rakash accent, <redacted Word>. Like I do now. Calm. Quiet. Listening.

You nod in agreement.

You say in a Rakash accent, <redacted Word>.

Cambin says, You'll put away your weapons. You'll drop your spells. You'll kneel, and you'll wait. For instructions.

(Nawain trembles, just slightly, as something deep inside twitches in alarm, but she nods.)

You say in a Rakash accent, No weapons. No spells. Kneel, wait, and listen for instructions. <redacted Word>.

Cambin says, Very good.

You mutter something into the air about <redacted Word>.

Cambin puts his absinthe in his armor pack.

You quietly say in a Rakash accent, <redacted Word>.

You nod in agreement.

Cambin draws forth a grusana kaft formed from a solid piece of blackened steel.

Cambin taps a grusana kaft formed from a solid piece of blackened steel that he is holding.

You gaze at Cambin.

Cambin says, But don't worry, it will only last a rois.

Cambin taps a grusana kaft formed from a solid piece of blackened steel that he is holding.

You gaze at Cambin.

A shiver runs up your spine.

Cambin asks, And you won't remember it. You understand?

Cambin taps a grusana kaft formed from a solid piece of blackened steel that he is holding.

Cambin says, Just like you're not going to remember this.

Cambin sheathes his grusana kaft.

The rain slackens off to a heavy downpour.

You say in a Rakash accent, <redacted Word>. Listen. N-not remember.

You nod.

Cambin nods.

Cambin says, Very good.

(Nawain gazes at you, but the focus in her eyes is starting to slip.)

You whisper quietly to yourself.

Cambin asks, You'll isten to instructions, and do whatever you're told. Right?

Cambin draws forth a grusana kaft formed from a solid piece of blackened steel.

You nod in agreement.

Cambin taps a grusana kaft formed from a solid piece of blackened steel that he is holding.

You say in a Rakash accent, I'll listen. I'll obey. <redacted Word>.

Cambin says, That's right. Very good.

You smile at Cambin.

You say in a Rakash accent, Very good.

(Nawain's eyes drop to the kaft, watching the blade flashing in the light.)

Cambin says, Oh, no, I don't think I'll have to hurt you. You're doing very well.

Cambin sheathes his grusana kaft.

You smile at Cambin.

Cambin says, You hear <redacted Word>. What do you do, rasa?

You kneel.

You listen intently to the sounds around you.

You say in a Rakash accent, I listen. I wait. I will obey instructions. And I will not remember.

Cambin says, Very good. Your first instruction is that you'll remember none of this. When the drug you've been given wears off, you'll go back to doing just what you were doing before.

Cambin says, You'll sing, you'll play your viol, whatever you've been doing to ease your captivity.

You give a slight nod.

Cambin asks, You understand, rasa?

You say in a Rakash accent, I understand, vrali.

Cambin nods.

Cambin says, Good. Good. I think you do understand.

(Nawain blinks her eyes slowly again, swaying a bit.)

It's raining heavily under a stormy sky.

A shiver runs up your spine.

You gaze at Cambin.

Cambin asks, One more time. What will you do when you hear <redacted Word>?

You say in a Rakash accent, I will disarm. I will kneel. I will listen. I will obey. I will forget.

You whisper quietly to yourself.

Cambin says, Wonderful! You're an excellent student, rasa. Most excellent.

You smile at Cambin.

You say in a Rakash accent, Thank you, vrali. For the lesson.

A shiver runs up your spine.

Cambin asks, You are welcome. You should sleep a bit. I will watch over you. Would you like to get out of the rain?

(Nawain's slow blinks result in more and more closed eyes until she seems to nod off, not responding to the rest of your suggestion in the least.)

Cambin nods.

Cambin takes a seat.

A shiver runs up your spine.

Cambin sweetly sings in a tenor voice:

     Come along with me

     And the butterflies and bees

We can wander through the forest

And do so as we please

     Come along with me

To a cliff under a tree

Where we can gaze upon the water

     As an everlasting dream

Cambin whistles a merry tune.

(Cambin looks concerned and rolls Nawain onto her side so the pouring rain doesn't drown her.)

<Cambin swaps out the drugged tipple for a clean bottle>

(Nawain comes awake with a start as a glorious crack of thunder peels across the sky, flinching hard.)

You gasp!

You sit down.

A shiver runs up your spine.

You exclaim in a Rakash accent, Oh! That's... Wow!

You say in a Rakash accent, I'm sorry, I guess I... Fell asleep? I'm really sorry, vrali.

You say in a Rakash accent, It's rude.

You stretch your arms.  Feels great!

Cambin says, No, no, it's all right. I know you haven't been sleeping well. Very stressful, all this.

You nod to Cambin.

You bashfully say in a Rakash accent, I feel like I'm not putting my best face forward.

Cambin shakes his head.

Grinning, you pull a large swig from a pretty glass bottle of Tildi's Apple Blossom Tipple.  The taste of crisply sweet apples with just a hint of sugared vanilla fills your mouth.

Roundtime: 5 seconds

Cambin says, Nothing could be further from the truth. You're holding up amazingly well.

You smile at Cambin.
