Allye smiles as a bright refrain issues forth from the orchestra pit, gently softening in volume as she begins to speak.

The lingering echoes of sound hang over the dais before ceasing altogether.

A chorus of applause starts up, seemingly led by Vixonia.

You notice Casari cheering in the seating area.

Allye says, "Born in Crossing to the distinguished Targonian family, Banner chose not the paths of spear or spell, but of verse. His music highlights the brave that are remembered, the broken that are revealed, and how every shadow carries a name."

You notice Sheearyn cheering for Banner from the seating area.

The lingering echoes of applause hang over the dais before ceasing altogether.

Allye says, "Tonight, we welcome him as both performer and story-keeper, whose songs breathe life into the tales they carry."

(Allye applauds along with the audience, stepping quickly out of the spotlight and into the shadows of the stage wings.)

A chorus of applause starts up, seemingly led by Zersha.

The lingering echoes of applause hang over the dais before ceasing altogether.

Banner begins his performance for his audience.

Banner walks confidently onto the stage, but stumbles after a few steps.

Banner looks up at the audience and takes a steadying breath before continuing.

Banner arrives at center stage and flashes a smile. He bows.

Banner says, "Pardon the stumble on the way in. You'd think I'd be old hat at this by now, but one concert performed does not an expert make."

A chorus of applause starts up, seemingly led by Sheearyn.

Banner grins sheepishly.

Banner clears his throat.

The audience response of unanimous applause rises in volume. Glancing over the audience members, you notice Sheearyn and Warbrolus are applauding and cheering.

Banner says, "As Allye so graciously re-introduced, my name is Banner Targonian."

Banner says, "It is a great pleasure to open the festivities this evening with four songs of my own creation."

Banner says, "I hope you enjoy them. They speak to a problem that many of us share."

Banner says, "Celebrating heroes."

The sound of unanimous applause maintains intensity. Glancing over the audience members, you notice Glemma and Zersha are applauding and cheering.

Banner says, "Toasting to their accomplishments..."

Banner says, "...without counting the cost."

Banner says, "Or worse, forgetting even that there was one."

The lingering echoes of applause hang over the dais before ceasing altogether.

Banner says, "But let's not get ahead of ourselves."

Banner asks, "Let's have a bit of fun first, shall we?"

Banner spreads his arms wide and bows once more, a confident smile on his face.

Banner gets a polished ebonwood cittern with a slender neck from inside his instrument case.

Banner gets a carved pick from inside his instrument case.

Banner says, "My first song tonight is entitled, 'The Hero's Boast'."

Banner clears his throat and steps forward, fingers resting gently on the strings of his cittern.

Banner says, "Every hero has a story."

Banner says, "And their stories? Absolutely true."

Banner says, "Every word, every deed - just ask the giants flattened, or the seas split with a single shout."

Banner winks.

Banner says, "So let's begin with a song of glory, of triumph, of the kind of deeds that echo forever."

Banner says, "A song that, of course, is entirely true."

Banner says, "Feel free to join in on this one. When you hear me sing, 'Raise it high,' join in with your own shout of 'High!'."

Banner asks, "After all, what's a bit of chaos at the opening of a concert?"

Banner chuckles and begins to strum a fast-paced melody.

Banner sings in a tenor voice:

"I wrestled a giant with one bare hand,
Laid him flat on the mountain land.
The peaks all bowed when I gave a shout,
And the sky stood still till the fire burned out."

Banner exclaims, "Here's where you come in!"

Banner sings in a tenor voice:

"Raise it high, the hero's song!
Loud as thunder, bold and strong.
But listen close, between the lines -
The truth is buried where no light shines."

From the seating area you hear Zersha yell, "High!"

Banner sings in a tenor voice:

"I dragged ten ships by a single sail,
Pulled them home through the fiercest gale.
The sea lay calm when I took command,
And the waves knelt low at my bold demand."

Laughter flows through the air, coming from the audience area.

Banner exclaims, "Your turn again!"

Banner sings in a tenor voice:

"Raise it high, the hero's song!
Loud as thunder, bold and strong.
But listen close, between the lines -
The truth is buried where no light shines."

From the seating area you hear Casari yell, "High!"

Banner sings in a tenor voice:

"I snared three ravens high in the air,
Bridled the storm with a strand of hair.
I drank the sky and I stilled the rain,
And I laughed as thunder forgot its name."

Banner exclaims, "You know what to do!"

Banner sings in a tenor voice:

"Raise it high, the hero's song!
Loud as thunder, bold and strong.
But listen close, between the lines -
The truth is buried where no light shines."

From the seating area you hear Zersha yell, "High!"

From the seating area you hear Warbrolus yell, "High!"
From the seating area you hear Grayaiche yell, "High"
From the seating area you hear Couri yell, "High"

Banner mutes his cittern strings with his right hand. Precise finger picking replaces the strummed melody. Rapid. Bright. Each note punctuated. Emphasized.

A little bit of laughter floats over from the audience.

Banner sings in a tenor voice:

"But every boast is a coin I spend,
A tale too tall that will break or bend.
The louder the cheer, the more I fear -
The shadow's truth is drawing near."

Banner strumming replaces the finger picking once more. Allowing each note to blend into the next, losing their individual emphasis.

Banner continues his performance.

Banner sings in a tenor voice:

"Raise it high, the hero's song!
Loud as thunder, bold and strong.
But if you seek the tale that's true -
The shadow remembers what I can't undo."

From the seating area you hear Valynn yell, "High!"
From the seating area you hear Ellywen yell, "High!"
From the seating area you hear Couri yell, "high"

Banner chuckles.

Banner says, "Now that we've got that our of our system..."

Banner lets his smile slip slowly from his face.

Banner says, "Boasts are bright, but brittle."

Banner says, "They hide what really happened, what songs leave out."

Banner says, "Just like our cheers in the middle of the song might have made it hard for some of us to hear the tune."

Banner says, "For every impossible victory claimed, there are debts no chorus ever sings."

Banner says, "The shadow remembers what the song forgets."

Banner asks, "Let's revisit those stories told, shall we?"

Banner says, "This next song is called 'The Shadow's Tale'."

Banner takes up a steady background rhythm on the cittern. Muted and steady with a simple chord progression.

Banner sings in a tenor voice:

"They sang of giants brought to their knees,
Of mountains bowed and the storm at ease.
But the giants fell and their children wept,
In the shadowed graves where their stories slept."

Banner shifts the cittern's style. Loud. Confident. Strong.

Banner sings in a tenor voice:

"The shadow remembers what the song forgets,
Every debt unpaid, every sun that sets.
The louder the triumph, the darker the trail,
For the hero's song hides the shadow's tale."

Banner alternates back to the background rhythm.

Banner sings in a tenor voice:

"They sang of ships by a hero drawn,
Ten sails ripped through the breaking dawn.
But the sea still keeps what the waves concealed,
And the names of the drowned are the wounds unhealed."

Banner strums in another building crescendo throughout the chorus.

Banner sings in a tenor voice:

"The shadow remembers what the song forgets,
Every debt unpaid, every sun that sets.
The louder the triumph, the darker the trail,
For the hero's song hides the shadow's tale."

Banner sings in a tenor voice:

"They sang of ravens caught by song,
Of storms made still and the hero strong.
But the carrion feeds where the bodies lay,
And the wings still circle to mark the grave."

Banner sings in a tenor voice:

"The shadow remembers what the song forgets,
Every debt unpaid, every sun that sets.
The louder the triumph, the darker the trail,
For the hero's song hides the shadow's tale."

Banner lets the chords linger before the sound dies completely. His voice alone carries the tune.

Banner sings in a tenor voice:

"So sing if you must of the crowns and cheers,
But let's walk the road of forgotten years.
For every boast there's a nameless grave,
And a shadowed debt no song can save."

Banner strums three times with the strings muted before allowing the cittern its full range again on the word coinciding with 'remembers.'

Banner sings in a tenor voice:

"The shadow remembers what the song forgets,
Every debt unpaid, every sun that sets.
The louder the triumph, the darker the trail,
So remember the truth in the shadow's tale."

Banner nods.

Banner lowers the cittern to his side.

Banner says, "We take a darker turn here."

Banner says, "The shadows whisper of debts unpaid."

Banner asks, "But what of those whose names were never spoken at all?"

Banner says, "No boast, no song, no shadow even to carry them."

Banner says, "Their bones lie in silence, forgotten - and yet their debt remains."

Banner says, "This song is called 'Forgotten Bones'."

Banner understandingly sings in a tenor voice:

"The hills where the giants fell,
No songs remain their tale to tell.
The ground is quiet, the stones are bare,
No boast, no verse, no memory there."

Banner sings in a tenor voice:

   "Forgotten bones, forgotten breath,
Silent beneath the weight of death.
No banner raised, no story known,
Their battles ended, their names undone."

Banner sings in a tenor voice:

"The waves still break where the sailors sank,
Their cries long lost as the waters drank.
No minstrel came, no story stayed,
Just hollow tides where their price was paid."

Banner sings in a tenor voice:

   "Forgotten bones, forgotten breath,
Silent beneath the weight of death.
No banner raised, no story known,
Their battles ended, their names undone."

Banner continues his performance.

Banner sings in a tenor voice:

"The fields are still where the feathers fell,
The wind remembers, the silence tells.
And those who stood where the shadows spread,
Are whispers now, and their songs are dead."

Banner sings in a tenor voice:

   "Forgotten bones, forgotten breath,
Silent beneath the weight of death.
No banner raised, no story known,
Their battles ended, their names undone."

Banner sings in a tenor voice:

"So here we stand with a song to give,
To name the lost so their names still live.
The debt is vast, but the song can pay,
A little more with each word we say."

Banner sings in a tenor voice:

   "Forgotten bones, forgotten breath,
Silent beneath the weight of death.
But if we sing, their silence breaks
A debt remembered that song remakes."

Banner says, "The boasts have faded."

Banner says, "The shadows have spoken."

Banner says, "The graves lie silent."

Banner says, "And the debt is still here."

Banner says, "So hear this truth..."

Banner says, "The forgotton outnumber the living."

Banner says, "We cannot pay it in full."

Banner says, "But we can pay *on* it."

Banner says, "With memory."

Banner says, "With song."

Banner says, "Every word we sing tonight-."

Banner exclaims, "Every word!"

Banner says, "Is a coin placed against the debt that remains, in their memory."

Banner nods.

Banner says, "'The Debt Remains.'."

Banner raises his cittern once more. His fingers fly across the strings as individual notes, not chords, issue forth.

Banner sings in a tenor voice:

"Our ledger stands, the account is clear,
A thousand names we failed to hear.
The page runs red with the price unpaid,
A debt of silence our songs have made."

Banner sings in a tenor voice:

"When stone is broken, when steel is gone,
Still the song keeps carrying on.
We cannot pay what time disdains,
But we will remember, for the debt remains."

Banner sings in a tenor voice:

"Forgive our songs that crowned the few,
And left the many without their due.
Forgive the cheers that drowned your cries,
The stories lost when the hero lies."

Banner sings in a tenor voice:

"When stone is broken, when steel is gone,
Still the song keeps carrying on.
We cannot pay what time disdains,
But we will remember, for the debt remains."

Banner sings in a tenor voice:

"We pledge our words to the least of these,
The nameless graves, the forgotten seas.
Your lives will stand where our voices rise,
Your memory sung, your worth our prize."

Banner throws his pick away and turns the cittern over. The song is punctuated by a staccato rhythm played with the palm and bridge of his hand.

Banner sings in a tenor voice:

"When stone is broken, when steel is gone,
Still the song keeps carrying on.
We cannot pay what time disdains,
But we will remember, for the debt remains."

Banner sings in a tenor voice:

"So take this song as the coin we give,
A promise sung so your names still lives.
And we will stand where your silence stayed,
Till debt is honored in the songs we've made."

Banner ceases the percussion. His voice carries on alone.

Banner sings in a tenor voice:

"When stone is broken, when steel is gone,
Still the song keeps carrying on.
We cannot pay what time disdains,
But we will remember, for the debt remains."

Banner says, "We have sung of boasts."

Banner says, "We have sung of shadows."

Banner says, "We have sung of bones."

Banner says, "And now we must face the truth."

Banner continues his performance.

Banner says, "For those who spin stories or compose songs."

Banner says, "The ledger stands against us."

Banner says, "We owe a debt of memory, a debt of honor, a debt of voice."

Banner says, "This song was our apology."

Banner says, "This song was our promise."

Banner says, "The debt remains..."

Banner says, "...but let it not remain unpaid in silence."

Banner says, "Consider the story *you* need to tell. The song *you* need to sing."

Banner says, "That person, long forgotten by others, who had a profound impact on *you*."

Banner says, "That person, still a shadow and not yet a forgotten breath."

Banner says, "Tell."

Banner says, "Their."

Banner says, "Tale."

Banner says, "Until then, *your* debt remains."

Banner bows.

Your applause echoes for a few moments before a number of other attendees join in. Casari gets an impish expression on her face, and lets out a hearty cheer.

Allye says, "A stunning performance, compelling in all the best ways. Another round of applause for Banner, please."

Allye applauds.

From somewhere nearby a chorus of applause breaks out. You add your applause to the din, a number of nearby attendees join in with you. The audience response of unanimous applause surges louder.

Allye says, "And a heartfelt thank you to him for sharing his talent and voice with us again tonight, shining light upon lost, shadowed stories."

The booming sound of unanimous applause lowers in volume.

The lingering echoes of applause hang over the dais before ceasing altogether.

Allye says, "Our second performer this evening is Eionelthaniel Silentheart, the renowned Bard of Stars."

Allye says, "He is famed for the breadth of his repertoire, and his mastery of a vast variety of genres imbues him with the ability to rise to any occasion as a performer. From somewhere nearby a chorus of applause breaks out.

(Allye slips into the shadows of the stage's periphery once again, clapping and cheering as she goes)

The audience response of unanimous applause rises in volume.

Eionelthaniel begins his performance for his audience.

Eionelthaniel draws his greatcloak aside, and bows courteously, sweeping his free hand before him.

Eionelthaniel gets a ghostpine lute carved to resemble a naga with glittering Gemfire ruby eyes from inside his encompassing shadows.

Eionelthaniel steps forward, resting one hand lightly upon his lute as his gaze travels across the gathered crowd.

The sound of unanimous applause maintains intensity.

Eionelthaniel says in a rustic accent, "Good folk of the Realms... friends, travelers, and those who perhaps only wandered in out of curiosity and now find themselves ambushed by a bard.."

You add your applause to the din, a number of nearby attendees join in with you.

Eionelthaniel allows a small smile to touch his lips.

Eionelthaniel says in a rustic accent, "Tonight's tale through songs is not one story, but many. A journey, if you will, beginning on a ferry dock, wandering through mischief, wonder, and memory... and ending, as all true tales must, with the truth we carry about this world we share."

The lingering echoes of applause hang over the dais before ceasing altogether.

Eionelthaniel says in a rustic accent, "I will sing of foolish spells and starlit picnics, and of strange stubborn hope that refuses to die no matter how many times history tries to bury it."

Eionelthaniel straightens slightly, voice warm but resolute.

Eionelthaniel says in a rustic accent, "These songs are for the travelers, the dreamers, the survivors... and for every soul who has ever looked across the five lands and still dared to call them home."

Eionelthaniel says in a rustic accent, "So settle in, my friends, for the journey begins... just as many good adventures do.."

Eionelthaniel plucks the opening notes with a playful glint in his eye.

Eionelthaniel says in a rustic accent, "With a confused adventurer who has just gotten off the ferry in Crossing for the very first time.."

Eionelthaniel glances around as if newly arrived in the Crossing and uncertain what to do next.

Eionelthaniel says in a rustic accent, "We can all remember being, Fresh off the Ferry."

Eionelthaniel effortlessly begins a flashy folk song on his lute, his eyes sparkling with pride at his hard-won skill.

Eionelthaniel lightheartedly sings in a countertenor voice:

"Just got off the ferry, with a cutlass made of rust
A shirt that didn't fit at all, and boots made out of dust.
My pockets held a charm of fate and not a copper more,
I think I hit my head last night before I washed ashore!"

Eionelthaniel pats his empty pockets with a confused frown.

Eionelthaniel nonchalantly smooths the folds of his greatcloak.

Eionelthaniel lightheartedly sings in a countertenor voice:

"I stumbled into Town Green, broke, bewildered and confused,
And swore the very cobblestones were somehow all amused.
I checked my pack for treasure, found an old map and some lint,
And wondered if the gods themselves were dropping me a hint."

Eionelthaniel gives a small, surprised smile as if the chaos feels oddly welcoming.

With a steady meter, Eionelthaniel continues to pick a flashy folk song with a polished ripple of sound.

Eionelthaniel lightheartedly sings in a countertenor voice:

"Stumbling through the Crossing with no clue where to go,
Each twisting lane confuses me, though locals seem to know.
I'm broke and wide-eyed, wandering, but learning as I roam
And somehow in this chaos..it almost feels like home."

As Eionelthaniel continues to play his lute, a flashy folk song flows through the air with a steady meter.

Eionelthaniel jumps back as if being attacked by something!

Eionelthaniel lightheartedly sings in a countertenor voice:

"My Mentor shouted "RATS!" at me, "Go fight 'em! You'll be fine!"
But when the swarm came rushing in, I nearly lost my mind.
They chewed upon my ankles, and they gnawed upon my pride,
I learned how to retreat before the first one even died."

Eionelthaniel lightheartedly sings in a countertenor voice:

"I gathered sticks and branches to sell 'em all to Mags.
I just needed a few coins to replace these filthy rags.
She paid me a few coppers, a beggar's hoard in riches,
Yet I'm still trudging round the Green in torn and dirty britches."

With a glorious burst of sound Eionelthaniel continues to pick a flashy folk song on his lute.

Eionelthaniel lightheartedly sings in a countertenor voice:

"Strangers swarm around me with their grins and open hands,
Shoving coin and armor at me, gods, I don't understand!
"Here, take this shield, this pouch, you'll need this parry stick!"
They equip me up so fast, I swear it has to be a trick."

Eionelthaniel mimes being rapidly handed items from all directions, barely keeping up.

Eionelthaniel finishes playing a flashy folk song on his lute.

Eionelthaniel lightheartedly sings in a countertenor voice:

"Stumbling through the Crossing with no clue where to go,
Each twisting lane confuses me, though locals seem to know.
I'm broke and wide-eyed, wandering, but learning as I roam
And somehow in this chaos.. it almost feels like home."

Eionelthaniel appears to straighten a little, no longer the lost newcomer - just someone who's survived the first steps.

Eionelthaniel lightheartedly sings in a countertenor voice:

"So here I stand a little bruised, but stronger than before,
With friends who laugh, and rats who run, and guildhalls to explore.
I may not know my destiny, but fate has brought me here,
And if this sounds familiar, I'll buy you all a beer!"

Eionelthaniel lifts an imaginary mug high with a grin, inviting the audience into the shared joke every adventurer's humble beginning.

With an impeccable flourish, Eionelthaniel masterfully swipes the minstrel's hat from his head, flips it end-over-end about his hand and deftly catches it with the tips of his fingers as he sweeps into a low bow.

Looking down, Eionelthaniel places his minstrel's hat atop his head and firmly presses it into place.

Eionelthaniel smiles.

Eionelthaniel says in a rustic accent, "Now friends...every Bard has a story they'd rather the Guild archives mysteriously 'misplace.' This.. is one such tale."

Eionelthaniel continues his performance.

Eionelthaniel says in a rustic accent, "This is the tale of a bard who stood in a shoreline tavern, puffed up with far more confidence than talent, and swore to the entire room that he could summon a greater Naga."

Eionelthaniel says in a rustic accent, "What followed was not glory..."

Eionelthaniel says in a rustic accent, "It was not triumph..."

Eionelthaniel says in a rustic accent, "And it most certianly was not a Naga..."

Eionelthaniel says in a rustic accent, "I hope you enjoy, The Bard who Tried to Summon a Naga."

Eionelthaniel effortlessly begins a masterful polka on his lute, his eyes sparkling with pride at his hard-won skill.

Eionelthaniel straightens proudly, flashing a mischievous grin.

Eionelthaniel sings in a countertenor voice:

"There once was a bard in a shoreline bar,
Who bragged he could summon a Naga from afar.
He stood on a table and shouted, "Behold!"
A serpent of sound from the legends of old! "

Eionelthaniel flourishes his lute with theatrical swagger, clearly convinced greatness is moments away.

Eionelthaniel sings in a countertenor voice:

"He flourished his lute with a swaggering air,
And all of the patrons leaned in to stare.
He struck the first chord, his voice rang strong,
And immediately got the melody wrong."

Eionelthaniel boldly sings in a countertenor voice:

   "The fool began to quiver,
    His voice becoming shriller!
He meant to call a Naga..And summoned.. a singing caterpillar!
It wriggled, it wobbled, it let out a wail
Crawled up his leg and the fool went pale."

Eionelthaniel lifts one foot slightly, staring at it as if something dreadful is crawling upward.

Loud joyous laughter ripples over nearly the entire audience.

With absolute concentration, Eionelthaniel continues to perform a masterful polka with white-hot intensity.

Eionelthaniel sings in a countertenor voice:

"He panicked and shouted, "That can't be right!"
The scroll promised a Serpent of magical might!
He flipped through his notes in a desperate panic
While the tiny worm's warbling became ever frantic."

A little bit of laughter floats over from the audience.

Eionelthaniel sings in a countertenor voice:

"He tried a new verse with a rising refrain,
But the only thing rising was tavern disdain.
The caterpillar gave him a dastardly pinch
Then continued to climb his leg, inch by inch..."

Eionelthaniel slowly tracks the imaginary crawler upward with eyes widening in mock panic.

Eionelthaniel boldly sings in a countertenor voice:

   "The fool began to quiver,
    His voice becoming shriller!
He meant to call a Naga..
    And summoned... a singing caterpillar!
It wriggled, it wobbled, it let out a wail!
Crawled up his leg and the fool went pale."

From somewhere nearby a chorus of applause breaks out.

Eionelthaniel sings in a countertenor voice:

"He reached for crescendo, he reached for the stars,
But only called forth more off key bars,
Three glowing worms appeared in a line,
And harmonized poorly, but thought it divine."

The audience response of unanimous applause rises in volume.

The lingering echoes of sound hang over the dais before ceasing altogether.

Eionelthaniel sings in a countertenor voice:

"The tavern exploded in howls of delight,
The bard's attempts were a pitiful sight.
He tried the true cadence, the final refrain
And summoned one worm with a truly foul stain."

Eionelthaniel grins like an idiot.

With gnashing of teeth and a terrible trill,
He fled the tavern screaming, "I'll get it right, I will!""

Eionelthaniel mimes dramatic outrage, one fist clenched in exaggerated fury.

Eionelthaniel storms a few steps as if fleeing, then whirls back toward the audience with fiery indigation!

Eionelthaniel sings in a countertenor voice:

"He said he'd call a Naga!
    He Promised us a fight!
He swore we'd see a Serpent
    With fangs and radiant light!"

Eionelthaniel leans forward conspiratorially, lowering his voice as if sharing a well-known tavern joke.

Eionelthaniel sings in a countertenor voice:

"But what we got was wiggles,
And tears of mirth in our beer!
Now every time he sings that note,
We all scream NOT IN HERE!!! "

   "Picnic in the Stars"

Eionelthaniel effortlessly begins a flashy fantasia on his lute, his eyes sparkling with pride at his hard-won skill.

Eionelthaniel sings in a countertenor voice:

"Drakes flooded Crossing's cobbled streets as Heralds split the skies,
The Immortals called the faithful forth with hope in watchful eyes.
They fled beneath the Temple's dome as thunder shook the air,
And found within those hallowed halls a madness waiting there."

Eionelthaniel sings in a countertenor voice:

"The heavens cracked with silver fire, the Heralds raised a cry,
The world itself was torn apart as faith and fate collide.
Through searing light a portal bloomed leading to the celestial realm,
Where gods and mortals clashed as one, with chaos at the helm."

As Eionelthaniel continues to play his lute, a flashy fantasia floats through the air with total mastery.

Eionelthaniel sings in a countertenor voice:

"They stepped into the realm of stars, where light and darkness blend,
With hearts aflame for deeds of fame that bards might one day pen.
But all such thoughts of valor died, mid-battle's deadly dance,
For there they saw the picnic spread, and lost their brave advance."

You listen with appreciation as Eionelthaniel continues to play a flashy fantasia with a subtle, powerful style.

Eionelthaniel sings in a countertenor voice:

"A picnic in the stars, with bread and wine laid neat,
While shards of stars came screaming down, they stared instead at meat.
The Immortals held the heavens, the Heralds waged their wars,
But they were slain by starlight, at a picnic in the stars."

Eionelthaniel sings in a countertenor voice:

"The cheeses ripe, the blanket soft, the bottle opened wide,
And there the fools stood laughing, with battle cast aside.
The shards rained down, they fell as one, the heavens split with scars,
Yet smiling, met their fate content, at a picnic in the stars."

Eionelthaniel sings in a countertenor voice:

"And so they lay, a foolish jest, beneath the endless night,
Their bodies strewn amidst the feast, gods laughing at the sight.
The Immortals won, the Heralds fell, the sky itself was mended,
Then down they dropped in one grand heap and thus the war was ended."

Eionelthaniel effortlessly begins a masterful ballad on his lute, his eyes sparkling with pride at his hard-won skill.

Eionelthaniel proudly sings in a countertenor voice:

"From Zoluren's fields to Therengia's gates,
From Ilithi's spires where moonlight waits,
Across Qi's seas and Forfedhdar's stone,
We walk five lands, yet call one home.
A tapestry of storms and years,
Of laughter, loss, and shared-held fears
But hear this truth the heart assures
Through all our trials, Elanthia endures."

As Eionelthaniel continues to play his lute, a masterful ballad flows through the air with total mastery.

Eionelthaniel stamps a steady rhythm, beckoning the audience to join.

Eionelthaniel ardently sings in a countertenor voice:

"Raise your voice, let courage ring,
For realms are born in what we sing.
Through shattered skies and shadowed lures,
Still, side by side, Elanthia endures.
By every hand, by hopes kept pure
We stand as one. Elanthia endures."

With a steady meter, Eionelthaniel continues to play a masterful ballad, filling the music with resonant undertones.

Eionelthaniel sings in a countertenor voice:

"The Sorrow's march, the plaguewinds' sweep,
The dragon's cult that stalked the deep,
The banners torn in ages past,
The cries that rode the northern blast
Yet children play where fires once spread,
And wheat now grows where soldiers bled.
For every scar the land procures,
    A voice replies: Elanthia endures."

With an almost casual grace, a masterful ballad floats from Eionelthaniel's lute.

Eionelthaniel strikes the lute with sharper emphasis, chin raised proudly.

Eionelthaniel ardently sings in a countertenor voice:

"Raise your voice, let courage ring,
For realms are born in what we sing.
Through shattered skies and shadowed lures,
Still, side by side, Elanthia endures.
By every hand, by hopes kept pure
We stand as one. Elanthia endures."

Eionelthaniel sings in a countertenor voice:

"We saw the heavens split with flame,
    Heard Heralds roar Immortals' names.
    Shardrifts opened, starlight screamed,
And all the Realms held breath or dreamed.
Yet as the night gave way to morn,
And banners rose on fields reborn,
The dawning sun through smoke reassures:
Though stars may fall, Elanthia endures."

Eionelthaniel finishes playing a masterful ballad on his lute.

Eionelthaniel sways as though upon a storm-tossed deck, gripping his lute like a ship's mast as his fingers dance across the strings.

Eionelthaniel sings in a countertenor voice:

"When Taisidon's winds tear mast from mast,
When thunder shakes the world so vast,
When ocean claws at deck and oar,
Still sailors chant the creed of shore:
"Through wave and wrath, through far detours
The sea breaks ships, but we endure. "

Eionelthaniel bows his head briefly, then looks to the gathered audience and places a hand over his heart, voice warm and resolute.

Eionelthaniel continues his performance.

Eionelthaniel sings in a countertenor voice:

"Where shrines stand still in forest rain,
Where prayers rise soft through joy and pain,
Where clerics guide the fallen home,
    And paladins through darkness roam
We've trust in gods, yet know it true:
They act through us, in all we do.
For mortal hearts their light ensures,
    In every life, Elanthia endures."

Eionelthaniel grasps the corner of his greatcloak and draws it before him with a gallant flourish.

Eionelthaniel steps forward boldly, gesturing for all to join the refrain.

Eionelthaniel ardently sings in a countertenor voice:

"Raise your voice, let courage ring,
For realms are born in what we sing.

Still, side by side, Elanthia endures.
By every hand, by hopes kept pure
We stand as one. Elanthia endures."

Eionelthaniel sings in a countertenor voice:

"So gather close when nights grow long,
For bards will guard the realm with song.
We keep the tales, the wounds, the flame,
The loss, the hope, the land, the name.
And when our final chord matures,
    Another voice will rise, assures:
As long as someone sings her shores
    Forever proud, Elanthia endures."

Nilme smiles softly as she draws an e'erdream lap harp in the shape of a wren with a single outstretched wing from a songsilk musician's case. She lovingly cradles the harp as she shifts it into position, her slender fingers playing on the strings lightly as she begins.

Nilme gently sings in a soprano voice:

"I hear the whisper of your words.
They rise above the city's sound.
    The constant clamor of conversation
By the weight of your words is drowned."

(Nilme's fingers glide over the strings of her harp softly in a complex ribbon of sound.)

Nilme meaningfully sings in a soprano voice:

"You whisper words of sorrow, joy,
Love, loss, and friendship, failures, wins -
    An immutable and impatient itch
Until I act with harp or pen."

(Nilme sustains the melody of the verse as she leans intently over her instrument, using subtle techniques to complement her voice as she continues.)

Nilme hauntingly sings in a soprano voice:

"Your whispers come to me at night
They stall me when I try to rest
    Undaunted, unconsciously urging me-
"Fulfill, with speed, each new request."

(Nilme gazes into the distance with a contemplative expression, as her rich soprano glides effortlessly through intricate vocalizations.)

Nilme remorsefully sings in a soprano voice:

"When I seek you - your whispers fade.
You leave me lost on darkened shore.
    In solitude, I struggle silently,
And from my quill no words will soar."

(Nilme's fingers slow on the strings, her voice trailing off briefly before building back again, in a dynamic crescendo. The music shifts to uplifting chords.)

(Nilme smiles to herself, a look of quiet satisfaction in her eyes, then raises her eyes to yours.)

Nilme joyfully sings in a soprano voice:

"Yet, when I think your whispers gone,
You speak in tones so soft and low.
Voiceless visionary of ode and verse,
    Inspirations, in whispers, flow."

Nilme confidently sings in a soprano voice:

"The whispers of my muse find me,
They give me hope. They lead the way.
They propel me to put pen to parchment,
    When distractions lead me astray."

(Nilme smiles softly as her lap harp releases beautiful harmonies into the air.)

Nilme tenderly sings in a soprano voice:

   "Inspiration comes to find me,
It leads me to both verse and song
It reminds me of the fiery passion
That lay inside in me all along."

I marvel at all the things you do to show me that you care.
Smiling softly, I recall the laughing twinkle in your eye,
All the ways you make me laugh, or dry my tears if I should cry.
One moment I will think my heart couldn't feel more love than this,
But the next you gaze into my eyes and give a tender kiss."

Nilme adoringly sings in a soprano voice:

"I love the way you revel in all the pastimes you hold dear.
I want so much for you to soar, even when you can't be near.
As I witness you at work, I see the joy that lights your face.
I want this for you- although beside me there's an empty space.
I smile and kiss you goodbye, knowing if I asked, you would stay.
I encourage you, but miss you every moment you're away."

(Nilme smiles to herself as she moves through the melody, vibrato filling the area in a way that can be tangibly felt.)

Nilme meaningfully sings in a soprano voice:

"I fill these times alone with the many pastimes I treasure,
Content in the assurance I am loved beyond all measure.
As I wish for you to soar, I know you wish the same for me,
Witnessing me work, the joy I feel is something you can see.
You kiss me goodbye, but ask me to stay, and you know I will.
You encourage me when I must go, although you'll miss me still."

Nilme dreamily sings in a soprano voice:

"Whether we are writing, hunting, or visiting with our friends,
We live every moment fully and we know how each day ends.
For the pain of every parting shifts to joy when we've returned
And blissfully we kiss hello, sharing new things we have learned.
Reunited, we both are happy, and in our hearts we know,
Every bittersweet goodbye will fade away with each hello."

(Nilme gradually slows the tempo, her sweet soprano voice full and rich as she leads into the final verse.)

Nilme lovingly sings in a soprano voice:

"As stars arrive, I think of you, and all we have come to share.
I ponder all the little things I will do to show I care.
We'll talk about the simple things as the hours go idly by,
Then I'll catch your gaze and smile at you, a twinkle in my eye.
I'll whisper how I love you with a love beyond all measure,
And how each day we're given is a precious gift to treasure."

(Nilme ends the song with a smile, the final notes from the viol fading into silence. Gracefully, she curtsies, one hand on her viol, the other holding her bow near her side.)

Nilme gets an elegant sana'ati khurmary depicting the singers of the Ru'atin Peri'el from inside her musician's case.

The lingering echoes of sound hang over the dais before ceasing altogether.

(Nilme produces an elegant sana'ti khurmary. She plucks a couple strings, listening intently. When satisfied, she begins to play a wistful tune in a minor key.)

Nilme observantly sings in a soprano voice:

"A traveler, weary from the road, sat down amongst the trees.
Under the verdant canopy, he felt a fleeting breeze.
Leaning back, he closed his eyes, but his respite would be brief.
All too soon, he'd walk once more. It was just what he must do.
No matter how long he visited, he was only passing through."

Nilme curiously sings in a soprano voice:

"Each new town became a blur, though at times he'd be befriended
He'd laugh and joke, but he'd still leave when the merriment ended.
He'd carry them with fondness and maybe he'd see them once again
But on he'd go from town to town, his goal known to him alone,
Was he a vagabond, or a prince running from the throne?"

Nilme wistfully sings in a soprano voice:

"Under the starlit nighttime sky, he'd watch clouds float past the moon
Sometimes he'd play an instrument, serenading it with his tune.
He slept outside when the weather didn't hasten him to an inn
And he'd observe the distant mountains that he'd get to in good time
Patient, but persistent, one day he'd get there, and he'd climb."

Nilme delicately sings in a soprano voice:

"Sometimes another traveler would walk along beside
His merry sense of humor was one trait he didn't hide.
Inevitably they'd part and he'd continue on his way
Toward a destination none could guess, and he never would reveal.
Was he trying to patch wounds that went so deep they wouldn't heal?"

Nilme quietly sings in a soprano voice:

"He hunted for his food, sold pelts to buy items from a store.
He lived within his means, requiring freedom - nothing more.
Occasionally upon the road, he'd find a bit of shade,
He'd relax a bit, reminisce the old, and smile at the new.
But no matter which town he visited, he was only passing through."

(Nilme finishes her plaintive song by resolving the last few chords into a pleasing key. She lets the strings continue to vibrate until the sound dissipates and carefully places her khurmary under one arm. Silently, she drops into a deep curtsy.)

Nilme gets a dragon-engraved bow from inside her musician's case.

(Nilme positions her lyra viol until it is comfortable and plucks a couple strings, listening intently. After adjusting one of the ostreiform tuning keys slightly, she smiles and nods approvingly. Drawing her bow softly across the strings, she plays a soft introduction that ends with a single long, slow note that resonates. After the note dissipates, she pauses in the silence, then flawlessly begins to sing.)

Nilme softly sings in a soprano voice:

"The only sounds are leaves that rustle in the Autumn breeze.
The city is behind me and I'm among the flowers and trees.
I stop and view the sparkling sea that lays beyond the cliffs
Knowing that I'm seeing one of nature's wondrous gifts."

Nilme smiles contentedly.

Nilme quietly sings in a soprano voice:

"I take my time, and a nightingale makes me smile anew.
Its song fades as I walk along the lane to home, and you.
Our neighbors' homes are lit and chimney smoke swirls toward the sky.
I see the typically busy garden stilled now that the day's gone by."

Nilme gently sings in a soprano voice:

"I reach our home and take your hand, leading you outside,
To soak in the quiet beauty of the stars the daylight hides.
You smile at me and trade your book for lying in the grass
Clouds float by the waxing moon, casting shadows as they pass."

(Nilme's dulcet soprano drops to a soft volume, although her projection skillfully enables those in the further reaches of the area to make out every word.)

Nilme tenderly sings in a soprano voice:

"The blissful lack of sound heightens every other sense,
We take it in as hand-in-hand we revel in the silence.
The fragrance of the sana'ati mingles with the flowers.
While savoring each moment, roisaen reach the sleepy hours."

Nilme contentedly sings in a soprano voice:

"In the peaceful comfort of our home, the noise of the day behind
Has faded with the evening, giving way to something fine.
Tomorrow's noise will greet us with the dawning of the day
But for now we'll go to sleep and let the silence have its say."

(Nilme, as the last word leaves her lips, positions her bow against the strings. Barely audible, she reprises the opening passage, letting the low tone of the final note carry. She stands gracefully for only a moment before dropping into a deep curtsy.)
