All that is known about the process that creates the phantasma fiber is that it involves ground mica, powdered animite, and crystalline dust. These ingredients are mixed with unknown fibers to create the phantasma fibers.

Displaying variegated shades of silver and grey hues much like that of fog or smoke, the filaments are crafted from a process that involves ground mica, powdered animite, and crystalline dust. These ingredients are mixed with unknown fibers to create the phantasma fibers, likely through some esoteric means unknown to most. These fibers, whether through the original creation process or through other, mysterious means, have an inherent ability to evoke the illusion of smoke or fog gathering around textiles that utilize phantasma fibers.

Weavers use the resultant fibers to create a range of luxury fabrics, usually of a lighter weight, although figured textiles can be created by combining the phantasma fibers with silk, metallic silver, or silveress fibers to create brocades or jacquards. These fabrics incorporate a subtle designs of wisps of smoke or fog running through the textile. Because of the manufacturing process, these fabrics often display the illusion of smoke drifting across the surface of the fabric or rising in nebulous, shimmering veils from the textile.
