Whisper command
Used to communicate privately with other players in the room. Optionally, you may allow the other players in the room to see that you are whispering something. |
WHISPER <Player> / GROUP <message> You see: You whisper to <Player> (or <Players>). WHISPER VISIBLE <Player> <message> WHISPER VISIBLE GROUP <message> |
NOTE: while in the past it was common practice to use this command to deal with OOC issues by including an OOC designation, the newer OOC command now allows us to properly confine and label such things.
Syntax
You can use the whisper verb to speak to another player without anybody else seeing it. Any OOC (Out Of Character) speech needs to be kept to whispers. For example, talking about game mechanics or a recent sports game.
If you want to convey that you are indeed speaking in OOC terms, you can use the OOC verb which acts a whisper with "OOC:" in it.
Syntax:
WHISPER [VISIBLE] (GROUP | <TARGET>) <message> Where <TARGET> is another character or an NPC (Non Player Character)
GROUP will allow you to whisper to everybody in your group. If the VISIBLE option is used, others in the room will see you whisper, but not what you're whispering.
Examples:
whisper group Hi there You see : You whisper to Solomon, Dartenian, and Oolan. Target sees : Turmis whispers to your group, "Hi there". Others see : Nothing.
whisper visible group Hi there You see : You whisper to Solomon, Dartenian, and Oolan. Target sees : Turmis leans over and whispers to your group, "Hi there". Others see : Turmis appears to be whispering to those in his company.
whisper visible solomon Did you see the game last night? You see : You whisper to Solomon. Target sees : Turmis leans over and whispers to you, "Did you see the game last night?". Others see : Turmis whispers something to Solomon.
