Jance is rumored to be his bastard son, particularly because of his uncanny resemblance to Erren.

Appearance

You see Erren Redthorne, a Human. He has a square-jawed face with sparkling ale-brown eyes. His cropped iron-grey hair bristles behind a sharply arched widow's peak. He has dark, weathered skin and a lanky build. He is distinguished for a Human. He is clean shaven. He is in good shape.

He is wearing a billowing crimson cloak, a platinum signet ring displaying a large star ruby, an exquisite ironwood chart case with an inlaid design of a mariner's compass, some soft leather turned-down boots, some bloused blue pantaloons with crimson piping, a Redthorne tartan sash and an elegant white watered-silk shirt.
