Vuan, called the Ivory Mage of Aluandi due to his albinoism, is a Moon Mage that alienated the guild. One of Tiv Guildermann's students, Tiv said of Vuan, "As a magician, a triumph. As a person, a failure. I will speak no more of him."
Vuan reputedly went into self-imposed exile following the rejection of his bid for a seat on the now long dissolved Moon Mage Council. A highly skilled but universally despised misanthrope, he created the Steps of Vuan spell pattern.
