The assassins game is PvP game in which those participating in it are matched with appropriate targets to kill.

Leaving the Game

You cannot leave the game while you either have a target or are a target.

Collecting Your Bounty

The agent to collect your bounty when you successfully kill your target is located in the furniture office of the Crossing Trader Shop Plaza. You ASK CLERK FOR BOUNTY to collect your money.

Syntax

  • ASSASSIN JOIN - Join the Assassins game.
You glance around, unsure of how to indicate that you want to contact whoever is responsible for the assassinations that are occurring. Almost immediately, you feel a tap on your shoulder and a slight weight in one of your pockets. When you reach inside, you find a small pendant. Placing it around your neck, you are immediately aware of a heightened sense of danger.

  • ASSASSIN STATUS
You have killed 0 targets.
You have been killed by 0 of your targets.
You have killed 0 assassins that were targeting you.
Nobody is targeting you.
You don't have a target.
  • ASSASSIN REQUEST - Request a new target.
You tap your pendant, concentrating on requesting a target. Immediately, a voice responds, "Sirus is your target. Best of luck, and happy hunting."
  • ASSASSIN REQUEST ONLINE - Request a new online target.
  • ASSASSIN REQUEST REVENGE - Request a new online target.
  • ASSASSIN ABANDON - Abandon your current target.
You tug on your pendant, concentrating on how little you want to continue tracking your target. You feel a rough jolt, leading you to believe that your request has been denied.
  • ASSASSIN ALLOW - Become a valid target if you otherwise weren't (such as after dying).
(already targeted) You gently press your pendant against your chest, but nothing happens. You realize that you're already in grave danger.
  • ASSASSIN INVESTIGATE <person> - Investigates whether or not a player is targeting you. Can be used once per day per contract. You must specify the FULL name of the person you think is targeting you.
You grip your amulet and concentrate on <Player>. You are immediately answered with a sharp voice that says, "<Player> is not targeting you. Please stop wasting our time."

Assassins and Consent

The Assassins game allows people to engage in consentual anonymous slaughter among themselves. However, there are a few policy guidelines that go along with this game.

The assassin is granted consent on his target for as long as it is his target. If his target kills him instead, he is no longer assigned to that target and thus no longer has consent.

Any player can use ASSASSIN INVESTIGATE once per day to check to see if a given assassin is targeting him. If ASSASSIN INVESTIGATE gives a positive ID on the person targeting you, you are granted consent for as long as he is targeting you.

If an assassin kills his target, OR his target kills him, the contract is voided. Because of this, if either the assassin or the target die at the other's hands, all consent between the two of them related to Assassins is considered void as well.

Spouses are NOT granted consent against their significant other's target OR assassin. The individual participants paired against each other are the *only* people granted consent by the Assassins game.

As normal, other players can provide non-violent aid to help either the assassin or his target. These actions are not under any special consent rules - Engaging in another person's combat grants consent as per normal consent rules.
