Amorphous shadows shift along the pale cloth walls, cast by the light of a single oil lamp on a brass chain hung from the crisscrossing wooden frame supporting the tent's roof. Only a few plain wooden benches and a single table sitting in the center of the room are provided for those waiting here to see the merchant.
