>>And what about armor turts? Still better with going to lighter side; bone or chain maybe? I'm thinking chain looks pretty good because with low skill you don't lose to much if you're fighting an opponent with a lot of weapon skill.

Yes, armor terts are likely going to benefit from wearing light armor (versus no armor at all). You'll get the lowest hindrance in those armors and respectable defense versus wearing nothing. However, if you say, outclass your enemy and can handle a small offense/defense penalty, or have some other method of working down the hindrance (spells, abilities), you'll benefit from wearing heavier armors.

>>what skill ratio will land a cap on best protection, or is there even such a concept?

Not sure I fully understand the question. If you have armor ranks >= your opponent's offenses, you are going to get the most bang for your buck. This is a weighted system so armor terts aren't entirely screwed for having armor ranks much below their defensive ranks. Still, the intent is to have armor primes be the best at using their armor when hunting at-level, or slightly harder, enemies.

>>This statement confuses me. I'm still able to get injured quite well in plate, both in Prime

Combat 2.0 is a scary thing. You essentially ramp up the damage as you become able to hit an enemy, until it caps at a 400% bonus. This means when hunting sky giant, doing 5x their limb damage actually does no damage at all. But by the time you hit 5x their limb damage, they die in one hit. 1% more armor protection would require 10x their limb damage to hurt them, and then it would be a one-hit kill. This is part of why making circle 200 critters is impossible.

3.0 is still in a state of flux, so we're keeping armor where we think it needs to be to offer the optimal hunting experience. If it looks like plate users are losing out for some reason, we can always tweak the light armors down a bit. But truly, the game wasn't designed for hunting above circle 30, and it shows with a lot of the creatures that are out there (yes we are adjusting some of them, but its a much bigger project overall).

>>Does this mean we'll start learning our secondary armors better? I wear leather on the torso, but have chain gloves. I've noticed that chain learns a lot less than my leather.

I was under the impression that multi-armor learning was good in Prime as of today. Once we hit the exp tweaking stage I will look into this some more.

>>Will stealth hindrance go down for the appropriate guilds then if we're expected somehow to be able to hide in heavier stuff

Stealth hindrance is worked off with armor ranks, and the more stealthy Guilds do get a bonus to working it down. There is no expectation that hiding in metal armor should be easy. Stealth is its own defense in a way.

>>I think it is going too far in trying to overcompensate for those wearing heavier armor

a. less "stealth" attacks - I am not sure what you are talking about here. Only small changes to stealth have taken place so far with 3.0's development.

b. more "oomph" for armor primes - Cmon, this one has long been needed. If anything the armor terts got recent a boost when we rewrote cloth and leather armor making... Plate armor accounts for nothing with the current critical-hit system.

c. injuries more common - Heh, in no way is this a nerf targeted at light armor users. This change was absolutely necessary to justify removing the critical system. It is required to make PvP interesting and to do away with first-hit-win scenarios, and to remedy the "why ever debufff when one more damage spell will just blow their freaking head off anyways?" problem. Finally, it gives us a reason to add alchemy products that heal, poison, disease and affect combat in other ways that would be lost in a game where everything dies in 2 hits and commander/boss/elite mobs are unable to exist.
