Yeah.. it is hard to express hindrance in terms that are as easily digestable as % damage reduction. The different min %s each Guild can work hindrance off to, the various armor mixing penalty, the way each defense penalizes itself a bit differently with hindrance... its just not as easy to quantify.

Rather, I am trying to determine if there is enough benefit to damage absorption from armor skill, assuming you are only getting hit on rolls of "20". Generally players aren't seeing a massive defensive penalty from hindrance. In 3.0 it will be a little less, as we're moving the hindrance penalty partially onto the offensive side.

Everyone will be getting hit a lot more in 3.0, so it makes sense to wear heavier armor if you can. That extra few % absorbed could lead to reduced trips to the empath or surviving a half dozen more hits when tanking some crazy invasion critter.
