RESEARCH is essentially the practice of exploring magical theory and learning new things about it. This is a slower process than learning in the field, but it's less disruptive than active spellcasting, and is very suitable use while spending time with others.

To research something, first enter RESEARCH LIST to see what you projects you can start. Once you find a project you want to research, RESEARCH {PROJECT} {TIME}.

This command puts a certain amount of time toward the project. When your current stint of researching concludes, that time will contribute toward the overall project. You will have to complete several pieces of the project before the project gets completed.

You will only get experience for the project when the whole thing is done - If you're 99% finished, you won't see any experience until the last piece is done.

If you let a project languish while partially completed for too long, you'll start losing progress on it.

Let me know if you have any questions about the RESEARCH system!
