Hey folks. RESEARCH is working in DRT now. Test away and post your results! Instructions: * Use RESEARCH to see what you can do. * RESEARCH will require that you have the Gauge Flow spell cast on yourself to do it. However, that spell is still being worked on, so right now the requirement is being waived. You'll see some messaging indicating that you normally wouldn't be able to RESEARCH, but that you're allowed to for now. The spell will be complete before we launch 3.1. * A complete research project usually takes about 20 minutes to finish. * While you're researching, any combat, spellcasting, crafting, instrument playing, climbing, swimming, or stealth activities will interrupt your research. The overall lore behind what you're doing when you're RESEARCHing is that you're messing with mana streams, carefully manipulating them and adjusting them to learn more. This isn't something you can do while engaging in combat or other concentration-affecting things. * RESEARCH LIST will show you what RESEARCH options you have available. If you take the Symbiotic Research feat, you can also research Symbioses. Once you take the feat, you'll have 3 basic symbioses that train augmentation: The Cast Symbiosis [SYMBIOSIS CAST] The Harness Symbiosis [SYMBIOSIS HARNESS] The Activate Symbiosis [SYMBIOSIS ACTIVATE] There are other feats you can take that will light up additional symbioses: Elemental Defense (Elemental damage barriers, trains warding)* Magical Interference (Magical barriers, train warding)* Physical Matrices (Trains aug) Mental Matrices (Trains aug) Survivalist (Trains aug) Scholar (Trains aug) * These symbioses aren't available right now, we're working on adding them Once you've researched a symbiosis, you can enable it for your next spell by using PREPARE SYMBIOSIS. This will affect your next AUG/WARD/UTIL cast. Please let me know if you have any questions! I'll be observing in Test for the next several hours.
