The way tools bond is... special. Yeah, let's go with special. I'm not going to go into a lot of details here, since unfortunately there's very little wiggle room between "Yup, I assure you, there are things you can do to make tool bonding go better for you" and "Well, you need to do exactly X, Y, Z while also doing A, B and C and then you might see Q...".

Generally speaking there are a ton of variables (Some of which I expect you all know, some of which caused me to smash my head into the desk while reading the code) that all reduce down into a system that is so dominated by chaos that anything short of a massive data set will never reveal it.

I mention this because this is the sort of complexity of the system I'd like to see reduced into something remotely grokkable.
