The current situation should read as "assume that they're going away, but I'll tell you if I get a good idea for it to not happen." It's related to the same reason we're doing a spell wipe, which is (shocking though it will be) not strictly because we're nice and generous people. The way we store and reference spells is changing. If a scroll still points to the right spell (or any spell) when the conversion happens, it'll be coincidental. I'm not ruling out some sort of conversion mechanic -- but if that was particularly easy and painless, we wouldn't have a spell wipe to begin with. | |
