A couple of things forgot to mention in the original post, and these are important -

The mech split isn't out yet, as most of you know. This is kind of a problem, as it means just about everyone can cap a large portion of the weapons in the books. That was never intended, and so weaponsmithing difficulty was increased over that of blacksmithing and carving. To temper this, taking weaponsmithing as a career or hobby will give an additional bonus to overcome the increase.

This "quirk" will be removed once the split takes place, and we no longer have to worry about everyone using one skill for many different systems. We struggled for weeks to find a compromise that would avoid a market-flood, while still allowing everyone to play with the system.

Also - fair warning that the free for all on technique forgetting is coming to a close in a few weeks :P We'll soon be increasing the cost to 25-platinum, and then adding a timer to forget them like spells. More to come soon!
