You are Busker Sircha Rankmere of the Ilithi Infantry, an Elothean.
You have tilted almond-shaped violet eyes. Your silver hair is long and thick, and is worn in a simple, loose style.
You have black skin.
You are in your prime.
You have a tattoo of a band of jackals surrounding a small girl with a huge claymore grasped firmly in her hands on your leg.
You are in good shape.
Bedecked in multitudes of brilliantly colored silks, luxurious fox furs, fine black leathers studded with silver, unicorns, pheonixes, and jeweled nagas your eyes just don't know where to look or to stop looking. The effect is dizzying at best, overwhelming at worst and you wonder how she can carry that much and still be capable of dragging a tog around in full plate?! You find yourself wondering Trader? Empath?
Goals: Have fun with friends, relax, find a fun party in bone wolves, back-train weapons, survivals, armor just for the hell of it, become an individual of honor, integrity, and kick the creeping tendency to lie when feeling threatened., become the first Paladin-Bard, earn the title Skald, ardent skill level in all weapons/armors, attend the next great war with a more hands-on role, and bring her wisdom up to the point where she can quickly drain her tertiary skills. Seriously, been around for 60 in game years and still only 10 lessons in swimming? Tsk. Tsk.
Personality: Soft and Fuzzy Carebear with a spiked collar, often says everything in good humor. She's too old to take what anyone says very seriously anymore. Forgives people, believes holding grudges only hurts everyone involved.
What other people say about her: Fiery, Passionate, Her way or the Highway.
Greatest Character Flaw Bossy, asks people to do things, or when she perceives them as incompetant orders them around a bit. In her book, a ressurection team needs to take no more than 3 minutes to bring someone back to life.
Greatest Character Strength Knows a lot about every guild, and the intricacies of DragonRealms, knows the best tricks for teams to work together, and carries a lot of special gear that can aid a team effort.
Dislikes: Gwethsmashers, PVPers, losing in PVP battles, Non-RPers, Heavy RPers.
Likes: Old Friends, Malveras, Shavay, Paerr, Nystarn, Dreamheart, free stuff, gems, skins, getting her own alterations, Love, bards, chocolates, ideas, thoughts, contests, run-by-hugs, her songbook, Traveling Elanthia, Locksmiths, Empaths, make-up, Demanding more development for Bards from EVERY GM she meets, Buying stuff and giving it away to new bards, roleplaying in moderate amounts. Being Easy-Going!
Pets: Her dog, Angelica a buff-colored cockerspaniel is her constant, often silent, and sweet companion in all of her journeys. She also has a miniature dragon that is often silently gripping her shoulder, and stays so still most mistake him for a piece of jewelry, the dragon offers caustic commentary and entertainment for any social situation.
Misses: Miss Deryka, the Bardic Boat dream, Bubba the founder of Tavern Troupe, Dreamheart, Khory, Kortny, many other long-gone bards. What happened to Daerlynn's lover Heston?! jelly beans, throwing pies, boomerangs, a carousal unicorn she got from the opening of shard and lost when the janitor snatched it up (it was an awesome HT Brawling weapon!!), Lord Sorrow (what did he do and where did he go after touching the stones?) The Old Bard's guild as it was, the old DragonRealms as it was in the silver-age.
Religious Beliefs Sircha is a follower of Murrula, but heeding to practicality often turns in Hodierna and Kuniyo orbs over any other god. Having seen so many friends walk the starry road during the Gorbesh War, she believes in maintaining what many consider a very high volume of favors, she always carries favor orbs with her and often gives them a swipe or two when she feels her mind filled with experience in three or more skills.
History:
Sircha's parents pushed her towards learning instruments, poetry and song-writing from an early age. With rhyming games, and creative thinking toys around mental development. They were overjoyed when she joined the Bard's guild on it's day of opening at the very young age of 16, and supported her efforts to learn bardic music for the next 6 years.
After many years of adventuring, she became tired of her own old songs, and retired from songwriting for a great many years. She's only recently rediscovered the hobby, and takes a few moments here and there to work on her songcraft.
They never told her about their Outcaster heritage or that she was a descendant of Outcasts. She was only told that she was Elothean, and that the desert sands of Muspar'i was home. She later discovered this during the Outcaster War in Shard where she discovered she was perhaps fighting on the wrong side? As a black-skinned Elothean sworn to the Ferdahl and joined as Quartermaster to the Ilithi Infantry. Pushed to discover her own reasons for fighting, among other truths she set out into the Outcaster territory to uncover the 'truth'. The Outcaster ways were strange and she was quickly captured... but perhaps not in the correct sense. Instead of being a prisoner she was forced to work against the Ferdahl of Shard and help plan the Outcaster's armies next moves in the assault of her beloved city Shard. When she tried to steal plans or sabotage orders she was quickly caught and punished, but always returned to table often in chains because of her valuable, intimate knowledge of Shard's inner defenses.
After the war, she was eventually released and allowed to wander the Outcasts few lands, but finding much of her beloved city gone, slowly migrated back towards the Crossings.
Marriages and Love Interests
Was briefly married to Aldaren for protection because she'd angered a very wrong crowd of people, and was being hunted down and killed four times daily. After they got the idea, that killing her would get them killed. They stopped and looked for someone else to bother. Aldaren and Sircha found love in one another with their mutual time spent together and remained married for a little over a year and six months when Aldaren decided to have a love affair on the side with another woman during their marriage, deeply hurt and betrayed she divorced him over it. She had several short-lived love interests and crushes but none survived longer than a few weeks. Has been wooed and married 8 times in the past, but these marriages lasted little longer than a week to a month each.
Love interests of note, Paerr Irontalon (retired bard), Malveras. When she met Malveras, it was a moment of instant love, the meeting of two souls that knew they were perfect for each other. In a strange way, they quickly bonded and began adventuring together. He was a moon mage and made her several wonderful enchanted objects. They quickly became engaged, but Sircha was reluctant to marry again, having been burned by several would-be lovers only to wake up with her purse emptied and a pain in her heart. Since her return, she's spent several weeks traveling and asking people of the Realms if they've seen Malveras, however, her efforts have turned up nothing.
Recent suitors in year 399, Nefidyne the Ranger of Crossings has shown an interest in her.
Players' Notes
Playing Sircha has been a roller coaster of exclamation points with me barely clinging to the seat the whole time. I started her when I was a very naive, very innocent teenager, aged 16.
I had spent a lot of time researching medieval names, particularly ancient Celtic names. I came up with Sorcha, but I decided I wanted something nobler-sounding so I dropped an "o" for an "i" and Sircha was born. At the time everyone I roleplayed with accused me of being a prudish old lady, and several made serious claims that I must be 86 irl or older. I wouldn't give anyone my picture to 'prove' I was otherwise, I never showed anyone my birth certificate as was demanded by many. People demanded constantly that I 'prove' I was the age I said, instead of just taking my word for it. I really saw no reason to. I was there to play, enjoy and test out my skills in poetry-writing.
The only DR player who has seen my irl picture has been Paerr Irontalon. Paerr and I killed swampies together for a good 3 years. While I don't want to put words into his mouth, this is approximately what I remember him saying when I sent it to him. "Wow, your gorgeous! I'm 27 irl if I wasn't already married I'd ask you. If I ever get divorced, your the first girl I'm asking." A few years after he divorced in a messy legal battle, he did ask me, but I was dating someone seriously at the time and declined.
Sircha's direction, the game is what you make of it, Dragonrealms is there, always will be there, waiting like an old flame. As a player I've never really abandoned the song-writing, poetry-writing side. I enjoy it, often I forget to or completely neglect to practice skills while I'm spending weeks working and reworking and rewriting and writing again a new song to later share with the guild or Elanthia at large. A good song is one you spend weeks in the crafting, reviewing it and writing it again until it is truly and masterfully made well.
Social situations, as a player I'm going to admit I have a low social intelligence, combined with an anti-social attitude. This has always spilled into how my characters think, behave and do. Some times I humor people with my very anti-social slap-stick commentary, and sometimes they laugh. That's fine, people need to laugh and be happy.
I thought it might interest people to know more about me as a player, I've taken several online quizzes over the years. You are Ichigo Kurosaki, the stubborn, short-tempered, and cool high school student who can see spirits and soul reapers. Like Ichigo, you are very outspoken and determined. Your friends can always count on you to defend them and help out however you can. You are a very compassionate person and have the ability to feel empathy for others. http://www.quizrocket.com/bleach-quiz/?q_result=1%7C0%7C0%7C4%7C0%7C0%7C1%7C4%7C4%7C0%7C4%7C1%7C0%7C1%7C0%7C2&e_close=1
You are Baldr! You are the God of beauty, and doomed to die at the hands of a friend. You will watch as all your friends die in Ragnorak (the end of the world). You are very playful and naive, and dont think about the consequences in life. http://quizfarm.com/run.php/Quiz?quiz_id=5541
Roleplaying in Other Games
After leaving DR, I really just wanted to rediscover table-top roleplaying and all the fun and joy it can bring. I had a lot of character deaths along the way as I slowly, ever so slowly turned from Novice Roleplayer to Experienced Roleplayer. You just know when your moment comes, the other players around the table are gazing at you in awe. The GM looked me in the eye and said, "I was expecting you to die, that was awesome, just awesome. Good Job! You took them both out in one move. Now I'll have to up the CR above +5."
The main problem with dragonrealms is that you can't solve problems with creative roleplaying. You can't come up with some new idea to solve a problem and have it work because the system lacks that kind of instant flexibility that a table-top game does, and if you could do it without moderation you would have all kinds of abuse. The only way to really solve problems in dragonrealms is through creative thinking and posting your ideas on the forums and hoping some coder picks it up and does it for a pet project.
