You say, "The shadows whisper of debts unpaid."

You ask, "But what of those whose names were never spoken at all?"

You say, "No boast, no song, no shadow even to carry them."

You say, "Their bones lie in silence, forgotten - and yet their debt remains."

You say, "This song is called 'Forgotten Bones'."

You sing in a tenor voice:

    "The hills where the giants fell,

     No songs remain their tale to tell.

     The ground is quiet, the stones are bare,

     No boast, no verse, no memory there."

You sing in a tenor voice:

    "Forgotten bones, forgotten breath,

     Silent beneath the weight of death.

     No banner raised, no story known,

     Their battles ended, their names undone."

You sing in a tenor voice:

    "The waves still break where the sailors sank,

     Their cries long lost as the waters drank.

     No minstrel came, no story stayed,

     Just hollow tides where their price was paid."

    "Forgotten bones, forgotten breath,

     Silent beneath the weight of death.

     No banner raised, no story known,

     Their battles ended, their names undone."

You sing in a tenor voice:

    "The fields are still where the feathers fell,

     The wind remembers, the silence tells.

     And those who stood where the shadows spread,

     Are whispers now, and their songs are dead."

     No banner raised, no story known,

     Their battles ended, their names undone."

    "So here we stand with a song to give,

     To name the lost so their names still live.

     The debt is vast, but the song can pay,

     A little more with each word we say."
