[Moon Mage Guild, Atrium]
The skylights curve down like a canopy over this small chamber, enclosing the northeastern hemisphere in a bubble of translucent, glittering crystal. A polished bronze telescope is here for students of the stars, but most visitors come just for the breathtaking view. From here, one can see for miles past the towers and streets of Shard, all the way to the walls of Leth Deriel in the far distance. You also see some cebi root, a root, a stone seat, the silvery-white shard Marendin and some junk.
Also here: Selanya, Bookkeeper Parkons, Mountain Lord Ezerak, Vagabond Katriwen, Songbird Mendira whose figure is gracefully highlighted in a soft aurora of silvery-violet light, Firehawk Casari, Shyna, Vaerek, Lore Keeper Useff, Bioexorcist Karthor, Doctor of Kittens Sukidesu who is sitting, Sublime Mender Kerennya who is sitting, Shavay who is sitting, Black Fox Xionara who is sitting, Novus Nevali and Enelne's Son Hondashi.
Obvious exits: southwest.

Shavay coughs.

Shavay splutters.

Ezerak waves to Ysilda.

Mendira ponders.

Ezerak hugs Ysilda, who wraps her arms around Ezerak with a warm smile.

Ysilda waves to Ezerak.

Ysilda smiles.

Mendira glances at the silvery-white shard Marendin.

Ysilda huga Ezerak who gives Ysilda a smile in return.

Shavay says, "Um, I mean... investigate it. Yeah."

Useff examines the silvery-white shard Marendin.

Rienth just arrived.

Nevali says, "Huh."

Nevali says, "Just had a stupid idea."

Nevali chortles softly at some secret joke.

Niliaevat Raesh Isen Malorna just arrived.

Rienth lays his palms against Ezerak's in a quick, yet deliberate movement.

Shavay asks, "Summon Naga at it?"

Shavay says, "Yeah, I already had that one."

Mendira begins chortling at Shavay.

Malorna joins Xionara's group.

Mendira quietly asks Shavay, "How did it go?"

Nevali asks, "What if we could travel through the shards but place them so that the pathway goes through Arhat's Tower, and snag the imprisoned-or-missing people on the way out?"

Ezerak lays his palms against Rienth's in a quick, yet deliberate movement.

Xionara beams at Malorna!

Shavay says, "Oh, I haven't TRIED it."

Shavay says, "Just thought of it."

Selanya gets an intense purple iris from inside her blue backpack.

Mendira says, "Oh! Oh, of course."

Mendira nods.

Selanya goes southwest.

Malorna grins at Xionara.

Casari says, "Right... I've been thinking about the naga since we first heard that the missing folks may be... sort of here but not here, kind of like the naga. I'm not a spellwriter, though, so that plan is still kind of young."

Nevali nods to Casari.

Vaerek smiles at Casari.

Strawberry Nurse Illiya just arrived.

Shavay says to Nevali, "I don't think the pathways through the Astral actually go in anything resembling a straight line."

Primal World Ender Anuril just arrived.

Mendira nods to Casari.

Karthor asks Nevali, "Wouldn't they have to, er, be in the Astral Plane in the first place?"

Nevali says to Shavay, "Then we just need to smack 'em harder."

Shavay chuckles.

Nevali looks at Karthor and shrugs.

Shavay says, "I wouldn't mind camping out at that Planar Observatory for a while, though."

Enelne's Repent Nawain just arrived.

Nevali says, "Ain't learned how to do that yet, so what I know is all fuzz-fuzz."

Sukidesu just hugged Nawain.

Hondashi hugs Nawain, who wraps her arms around Hondashi with a warm smile.

Roughneck Rileos just arrived.

Nawain hugs Sukidesu, who wraps his arms around Nawain with a warm smile.

Shavay says, "Stupid lethal Astral Plane..."

Nawain hugs Hondashi, who wraps his arms around Nawain with a warm smile.

Illiya just hugged Nawain.

Casari says, "Thanks for joining us, everyone. We'll get started in about five roisaen."

Nawain hugs Illiya, getting a smile in return.

Rileos raises two fingers to his brow in a quick hand salute.

Sukidesu grins, revealing his dimples.

Mendira nods graciously at Casari, giving her a polite smile.

Shavay casually observes the area.

Selanya just arrived.

Shavay says, "Good turn out."

Shavay exclaims, "And you didn't even promise snacks!"

Kerennya waves to Nawain.

Casari grins.

Nawain waves to Kerennya.

Nawain beams!

Casari says, "I thought about asking my sister to cater, but then I saw a pretty fire and forgot."

Shavay says, "That'd do it."

Ezerak waves to Rileos.

Ezerak waves to Anuril.

A pained expression crosses Hondashi's face.

Woten just arrived.

Anuril nods to Ezerak.

Ershta Zehira just arrived.

Nawain just hugged Woten.

Closing his eyes, Anuril grunts briefly in effort as a small electrical ethereal fissure opens in front of him. Thrusting his hand through, Anuril draws out an electric marauder blade. As Anuril opens his eyes, the fissure closes.

Ershta Zehira traipses southwest.

Sukidesu rests his hand on Hondashi's arm with a soft smile.

Illiya gets a whimsical moabi picnic basket bedecked with rencate cupcake charms from inside a swirling eddy of incandescent light bound by a gold-striated coralite frame.

Shavay blinks at Anuril.

Nevali asks, "Are all these fissures and rituals going to upset anything you bards need to be doing?"

The lithe alfar warrior searches around for a moment.

Illiya says to Casari, "I have some cupcakes to share if you like."

Esotericist Eyst just arrived.

Shavay says, "I need to learn to do that."

Anuril leans on his blade.

Casari says to Illiya, "Sure, that would be fantastic."

Illiya pulls a rainbow silk picnic cloth ringed in rencate cupcake charms out of a picnic basket, setting her basket aside as as she shakes out the cloth and lays it out upon the ground.

Soul Surgeon Zynell just arrived, leading her group.

Woten asks, "Anyone care for a class?"

Casari asks Nevali, "I ah... don't even know the answer to that question. Probably not?"

Woten gestures, and a smooth eruption of rock rises from the ground with a low rumble, shifting and flowing fluidly before settling into a seat of stone. He walks over to it and sits down.

Sukidesu stretches his arms.

Casari says, "We'll start in a couple more roisaen."

Nawain takes a seat near Woten.

Vaerek says, "I'll offer a class to teach if anyone needs anything else."

Woten winks at Nawain.

Nawain adjusts the folds of her uaro's'sugi, her face all but hidden from view.

Nawain waves to Rileos.

Illiya gets a buttercream cupcake swirled with strawberry frosting from atop a rainbow silk picnic cloth ringed in rencate cupcake charms.

Rileos nods to Nawain.

Shavay says, "Bardic evocation is more about... dredging up emotional imprints on an area, rather than contacting other planes."

Illiya takes a tiny bite of a buttercream cupcake swirled with strawberry frosting and chews daintily on it.

Karthor asks, "To stay with the craftin' theme, how 'bout Enchantin'?"

Nevali nods to Shavay.

Nevali says, "Good, I like that."

Vaerek nods to Karthor.

Sukidesu grins, revealing his dimples.

Karthor lets out a loud "Huzzah!" for Vaerek!

Zynell gets a night-black starlight velvet prayer tapestry stitched with loimic and fey-bone from inside her encompassing shadows.

Zynell reverently lays her prayer tapestry at her feet, smoothing out its corners.

Zynell sits down on the prayer tapestry.

Shavay says, "I seriously doubt anything that happens on another plane would leave enough of an impression here where we could sense it, either."

Shavay ponders.

Shavay stands up.

Shavay closes the rosewood stool.

Shavay puts his stool in an obsidian-bound eddy of molten light.

Casari glances outside a moment.

Woten props his elbow on the arm of his stone seat and rests his chin in his hand.

Useff glances outside a moment.

Casari says, "Okay, let's begin."

Woten grins at Nawain.

Illiya smiles at Casari, revealing the dimples in her cheeks.

Casari clears her throat.

Mendira nods to Casari.

Nawain stands up.

Ears tilted forward, Zynell curls her tail around Sothios's ankles loosely.

Casari says, "There has been a lot of talk about the distant past lately, especially with what the Rangers and Empaths have been doing, and it's brought on a lot of questions that we can't answer with certainty."

Nawain grins at Woten.

Woten gestures, and a smooth eruption of rock rises from the ground with a low rumble, shifting and flowing fluidly before settling into a seat of stone. Woten gestures for Nawain to have a seat.

Chakrel Heart Malkien just arrived.

Nawain settles onto the stone seat with a satisfied sigh.

Malkien shakes Rileos's hand.

Casari says, "Just an andu ago, while observing one of the Life practitioners' efforts, we Bards were able to see what they saw. We can talk more about that later, after we try what I'd like to try, but it's likely related in one or more ways to the reason I asked other Bards to join me here."

Casari says, "For those who don't know, we Bards sometimes have the ability to perceive echoes of the past. This is usually tied to a place or an object, though it can get pretty abstract. Sometimes it's a sensation about a strong emotion someone felt, and sometimes it's a sort of out of body experience, like we're living through a memory. Either way, when it works, it's intense."

Mendira nods in agreement.

Hondashi nods to Casari.

Katriwen nods to Casari.

Casari says, "The fact is, it's a strange and enigmatic talent, and we don't usually have much control over what we get. A Lore Keeper might be able to tell you more, but I'm not that kind of Bard, and I don't really know how, when, or why an echo does or doesn't avail itself."

Light of the World Gwenddolyn just arrived, leading her group.

Shavay says, "Understatement Of The Year Award, Runner-Up..."

Hondashi grins.

Casari grins.

Casari says, "When I focused on this Grazhir shard myself... I didn't get anything at all. But maybe gathering a few Bards together can get some resonance and show us something we don't know."

Nevali pushes her glasses up the bridge of her nose.

Casari says, "If it works, keep in mind that this little rock has been through a lot, and with a history that deep, there's no telling what we will hear. But I'm hoping we can dig way back to a time when it was part of a whole moon, before Elanthia was battered by it and its siblings, and in that time maybe we'll see something that adds a little context to current events."

Mendira gazes at the silvery-white shard Marendin.

Casari asks, "Any questions before we start?"

Anuril nods to Zynell.

Casari studies the faces around her.

Shavay cracks his knuckles.

Ezerak shakes his head.

Shavay inhales a great swallow of air.

Shavay slowly empties his lungs.

Gwenhwyfach says, "I missed the what you are doing part."

Katriwen takes a seat.

Kerennya gets a plate of seared garlic shrimp served with wild rice and marmalade-drizzled melon slices from inside her mariner's rucksack.

Casari says, "Well, you'll find out in a second, then."

Kerennya takes a bite of the shrimp.

Casari grins.

Mendira grins.

Rileos chuckles.

Nevali says, "Just keep an eye on Shavay's hands."

Casari nods in agreement.

Shavay cracks his knuckles.

Casari says, "All right. So... Bards, let's see if we can evoke something useful. To start, come stand in a circle around the shard. Everyone else, I'd appreciate it if you'd try to keep the noise down while we're doing this."

Shavay says, "Nothing up my sleeve..."

Shavay says, "And..."

Katriwen stands up.

Shavay looks Nevali in the face and gives her a wink. With a sly smirk, he reaches toward her ear and returns a moment later holding a bronze coin in his fingertips.

Malkien hums to himself.

Shavay exclaims, "Presto!"

Useff stands near the silvery-white shard Marendin.

Mendira puts her bovines in her leather pack.

Nevali babbles something incoherent at Shavay.

(Casari walks over to stand near the column holding the Grazhir shard Marendin.)

(Hondashi shuffles over to the circle)

Rienth looks thoughtfully at Casari.

Shyna stands near the silvery-white shard Marendin.

Hondashi stands near the silvery-white shard Marendin.

(Katriwen finds a place in the circle around the shard.)

Shavay stands near the silvery-white shard Marendin.

Casari says, "First thing we'll try is just concentrating. Close your eyes and focus on your breathing, slow and steady."

(Mendira steps forward to stand beside the others next to the Shard.)

Shavay inhales a great swallow of air.

Hondashi inhales a great swallow of air.

Hondashi slowly empties his lungs.

Kerennya breathes almost without making a sound.

Shavay slowly empties his lungs.

Mendira breathes very slowly and looks much calmer.

Useff breathes very slowly and looks much calmer.

(Selanya slips to the outside edge of the circle, allowing her elders to stand in front of her)

Casari says, "Hear the Bards around you. Feel the choir of your peers."

Hondashi settles back, straightening his back and folding his legs together into a comfortable position. He closes his eyes and seems to grow very calm.

(Rienth steps up to join the others by the shard.)

Shyna inhales a great swallow of air.

Rienth inhales a great swallow of air.

Rienth slowly empties his lungs.

Knight Errant Trajan just arrived.

Katriwen lets out a long, contemplative breath.

Shyna slowly empties her lungs.

Shavay mutters something into the air about must resist heckling.

(Non-Bards) Several individuals in attendence close their eyes and take a deep breath.

(Bards) You close your eyes, opening up your senses to what can be perceived from the silvery-white shard Marendin...

Shavay inhales a great swallow of air.

Casari says, "Now in unison, reach your senses to the center. See in your mind Marendin as it is, a shard of Grazhir atop a Great Tower, encircled by those who receive the past."

Shavay slowly empties his lungs.

Nawain grins at Woten.

Vaerek grins at Parkons.

Hondashi stands up.

(Non-Bards) Several individuals in attendance close their eyes and take a sharp breath.

(Bards) A flicker of the past parts, and you see robed figures stand in silent chambers, staring at the shard of the fallen moon. Great magics are woven, and the coin sized fragment shudders as it is given a name, here, though also not here.

Woten inhales a great swallow of air.

Woten slowly empties his lungs.

Vaerek inhales a great swallow of air.

Kerennya gasps!

Casari says, "Listen to the echoes beyond what Marendin is now and hear what it once was. Hear Marendin being given its name. Before that... hear Marendin being picked up by mortal hands."

Illiya casually observes the area.

Hondashi inhales a great swallow of air.

Hondashi slowly empties his lungs.

Anuril studies the faces around him.

Shavay says, "That... must be the Naming...."

Shavay slowly empties his lungs.

(Non-Bards) Several individuals in attendence close their eyes and take a sharp breath.

(Bards) A flicker of the past parts, and you are falling, surrounded by flames. You tumble, and are afforded a view of the sky torn, streaked with dozens of lines of similar flames. The land burns, a spreading shockwave of white and blue flames raging across mountain and forest, plain and city, and the sky burns, an expanding ring of twisted space writhing in chaotic fury around a shattered moon.

Vaerek takes a deep breath.

Rileos casually observes the area.

Shavay winces.

Rileos scratches distractedly at his beard.

Casari says, "Hear Marendin lying silent, untouched and at rest on Elanthia. Before that, hear Marendin falling through the sky... flying through darkness in the heavens."

Shyna groans.

Illiya puts her cupcake in her encompassing shadows.

Shavay flinches.

Rienth appears to be listening intently for something.

Anuril stands near Rileos.

Shavay shudders.

Casari says, "Hear Marendin at home, a piece of something great. Hear Grazhir before the calamity, seeing a foreign world far above."

Malkien squints.

Rileos looks at Anuril and shrugs.

Nawain narrows her eyes.

(Non-Bards) Several individuals in attendance close their eyes and take a sharp breath.

(Bards) A flicker of the past parts, and you see a serenely bright and pure moon, Grazhir, whole and white, unblemished and featureless.

Woten inhales a great swallow of air.

Xionara blinks.

Woten slowly empties his lungs.

Hondashi gently says, "Ah, so beautiful..."

Casari exclaims, "Evoke the memory of that time. Open your eyes and be there!"

Anuril nods to Rileos.

Rienth quietly says, "Wow..."

Shyna nods.

Shavay says, "Wow..."

Karthor strokes his beard in thoughtful contemplation.

Shyna says, "Oh."

Eyst tugs at the tip of his mustache distractedly.

Shavay says, "Okay, that was deep."

Kerennya takes a bite of the shrimp.

Nevali whimpers softly.

(Casari appears to be concentrating intently.)

Shavay exclaims, "How are we getting memories from when there was no one there to leave a memory?!"

Shavay rubs gingerly at his temples.

Karthor raises an eyebrow.

Casari slowly empties her lungs.

Vaerek peers quizzically at Shavay.

Xionara softly says, "Please explain details of memory. Planet remembers."

Nevali softly exclaims, "Star people...!"

Illiya asks, "What did you see?"

Rileos runs his fingers through his hair.

Karthor asks, "Sounds a bit like it worked, eh?"

Casari nods.

Anuril observes Nevali with fascination.

Shavay asks, "I think so. Sort of... in reverse?"

Rienth ponders.

Hondashi just touched the silvery-white shard Marendin.

Rienth nods in agreement.

Malorna says, "'i feel blind."

Casari says, "It did. We got flashes."

Malorna squints.

Nevali gets a hopeful expression on her face.

Illiya says, "If only Navesi were here, she would have loved this."

Shavay says, "Give us a second."

Xionara nods at Malorna, obviously agreeing with her views.

Rileos nods at Illiya, obviously agreeing with her views.

Katriwen quietly says, "I think... the moon itself has memories we are seeing? Or maybe like with Othersight, it was Elanthia showing us what it remembers."

Shavay asks Illiya, "You're taking notes, I hope?"

Kerennya says to Malorna, "Probably how the others feel at the ranger/empath Primal Elanthia visions."

Illiya says to Shavay, "Always."

Nawain chuckles.

Illiya grins at Nawain, her dimples flashing into view.

Trajan nods to Kerennya.

Karthor says to Kerennya, "I was thinkin' the same thing. Feels strange from this side."

Karthor grins.

Casari smiles.

Kerennya nods at Karthor, obviously agreeing with his views.

Trajan says to Kerennya, "I'm two for two now."

Shavay asks, "At first we saw when the Moon Mages actually Named the shard. I believe that has some significance for the Astral plane?"

Woten nods.

Malkien says, "Navesi is here in spirit, I am sure."

Rienth nods.

Mendira nods to Malkien.

Anuril gazes sadly at Malkien.

Casari nods in agreement.

Xionara softly exclaims, "Stop that!"

Xionara lets out an exasperated, "Pbpbpb."

Casari just touched the silvery-white shard Marendin.

Xionara softly says, "Those ones coming back. Chin up."

Illiya smiles at Malkien, revealing the dimples in her cheeks.

Useff leans forward.

Casari says, "Thank you, guildmates. That actually kind of worked."

Casari flashes a wide grin.

Rienth grins at Casari.

Ezerak praises Casari.

Shyna nods.

Xionara gives Anuril a gentle poke in the ribs.

Xionara gives Anuril a gentle poke in the ribs.

Nevali fixes Casari with an intent, predatory stare.

Xionara just tickled Anuril.

Rienth says to Casari, "At the very least, it was an amazing view."

Anuril grunts at Xionara.

Mendira beams at Casari!

Katriwen smiles at Casari.

Xionara bops Anuril over the head.

Hondashi sighs.

Malkien says, "Your music was very bright."

Ezerak nods at Rienth, obviously agreeing with his views.

Shavay casually observes the area.

Useff gazes upward.

Shavay asks, "Okay, I sensed three events. Everyone else?"

Shavay casually observes the area.

Casari says, "So, for the uninitiated... yes, we saw what appeared to be the Naming ritual, and then we saw what appeared to be the cataclysm, with the shards falling from above."

Shyna nods.

Useff nods to Shavay.

Xionara gazes at Shavay.

Xionara taps her foot impatiently.

Xionara seems to be waiting for something.

Illiya smiles at Malkien, revealing the dimples in her cheeks.

Rienth nods to Shavay.

Nawain winces.

Casari says, "For just a moment, we saw Grazhir whole, in its original form."

Nawain gazes at Casari.

Karthor strokes his beard in thoughtful contemplation.

Eyst asks, "Any dragons?"

Gwenddolyn shifts her weight.

Shavay says, "No."

Woten asks, "Any sense of the shattering itself?"

Rienth shakes his head.

Casari smiles slightly.

Kerennya tilts her head, clearly curious about something.

Gwenhwyfach says, "Yet."

Hondashi gently says, "Just felt falling...falling...."

Shyna says, "It hurt."

Casari says, "I was hoping we could put ourself in that time and see more. See Elanthia, and see the world as it was then. But it is frankly amazing that we even saw what we did, so I'm overjoyed."

Shavay says, "I think each part of the vision was actually focused on this little piece of rock."

Woten nods.

Illiya gets a gold-edged ivory parchment from inside her wyvern hide.

Nawain praises Casari.

Anuril glances at the silvery-white shard Marendin.

Illiya gets a flamboyantly fluffy feather quill with an Elven silver nib from inside her encompassing shadows.

Katriwen says, "Sort of... there was the sky burning, showing us an expanding ring of twisted space that writhed around the shattered moon. It felt.. chaotic, angry."

Karthor squints through his spectacles at the silvery-white shard Marendin.

Shavay says, "Specifically it as it fell. Specifically it, as it rested as part of the moon..."

Katriwen says, "But that's not so much a dragon as a... something else."

Shyna nods.

Nawain frowns.

Illiya asks Casari, "Could you tell us, um, sort of in an orderly way what you saw?"

Woten says, "It makes sense, you have to focus on an object to perform the bardic recall, but prior to the shattering this piece barely existed as an independent object so the recall would be vague."

Casari says, "It's worth noting that... I saw cities. Cities beneath the intact Grazhir, about to be ravaged."

Gwenhwyfach says, "Or a partial view since it is just a shard."

Malkien cocks his head.

Hondashi ponders.

Gwenhwyfach says, "Maybe other shards will give different views."

Illiya jots down some notes.

Katriwen nods to Woten.

Casari says, "That could be."

Rileos scratches distractedly at his beard.

Illiya asks, "Did you see these things in any particular order?"

Woten says, "Maybe, after some rest, you could try this experiment again at a larger shard. We could attune the area to Aether to try and help make the recall clearer."

Shavay says, "From back to front... we saw the moon Grazhir. We witnessed a moment of the cataclysm, after the moon shattered and devastated the world. And then we saw the Moon Mage council, Naming this particular shard."

Shavay says, "But we saw them in reverse-chronological order."

Knight of Meraud Tirost just arrived.

Casari nods.

Hondashi nods at Shavay, obviously agreeing with his views.

Hondashi gently says, "We went backward."

Illiya nods to Shavay.

Shavay asks, "We kept... diving deeper?"

Casari says, "That sounds about right. I was trying to walk back through time, as it were."

Kerennya waves to Tirost.

Useff nods to Hondashi.

Tirost waves to Kerennya.

Karthor says, "Hm, neat."

Woten asks, "Anything of note about the naming ritual event?"

Shavay says, "This has been an amazing experiment, and I find absolutely fascinating that it worked. But I don't think Grazhir, or any fragment of it, has the right... perspective? To shed any light on what's happening now."

Xionara softly says, "Hrm."

Hondashi ponders.

Casari says to Shavay, "You might be right. Or we just might need... more Bards? Or some who understand this whole process a little better."

Shavay says, "The mages were all robed and shadowy, but it wouldn't surprise me if one of them was Morton. Sorry, but he creeps me out a bit."

Illiya smiles at Mendira, revealing the dimples in her cheeks.

Xionara softly asks, "What about worn stone at Arhat's tower?"

Gwenddolyn chuckles at Shavay.

Gwenddolyn asks, "Morton Saist?"

Casari says, "For what it's worth, I didn't see any dragons. Not even one inside Grazhir."

Malkien says, "Perhaps try at the encasements, the lifesculpted vines enclosing them are living things and are said to be crafted with emotions, and perhaps memories as well."

Shavay asks Gwenddolyn, "He was lying in that coffin, supposedly DEAD for decades! And then one day he just sits up, yawns, and says it was a good nap?"

Gwenddolyn nods at Shavay, obviously agreeing with his views.

Shavay says, "Creepy."

Xionara nods at Malkien, obviously agreeing with his views.

Vaerek says, "I know some weird things have been happening the the Segoltha waters. Shatters of Grazhir and whatever else might still be in the deepest seas and waters."

Casari says, "Grazhir itself was... perfect. Smooth like a marble."

Illiya nods to Casari.

Rienth nods.

Shavay says, "Or an egg..."

Shavay just nudged Casari.

Shavay chuckles.

Xionara raises an eyebrow.

Hondashi distractedly asks, "I wonder...what is the oldest part of Elanthia that we know...?"

Hondashi scratches his head.

Casari nods at Hondashi, obviously agreeing with his views.

Shavay says, "That's hard to quantify."

Woten asks, "What if you tried a similar experiment near the Suur Pillar?"

Hondashi ponders.

Shavay says, "And it's not like we have a booming archaeology industry."

Hondashi nods to Shavay.

Casari looks thoughtfully at Woten.

Hondashi gently says, "We should. Oh, bet my brother would love that occupation."

Hondashi nods.

Shavay says, "If Terald didn't disappear on that last expedition, he might be a person to ask."

Casari says, "I'd like to talk a little bit about why I wanted to try this in the first place."

Woten nods.

Rienth nods to Casari.

Shavay says, "Although Terald... he sorta personified the old question, 'How long does it take to stop being graverobbing and start being archaeology?'."

Shavay says, "Asking for a friend, of course."

Illiya nods to Casari.

Casari says, "Between what the... messengers have been telling us, and what the Rangers, and Empaths, and even we Bards now have seen in what appears to be memories of Elanthia...."

Katriwen gazes at Casari.

Vaerek nods to Nevali.

Casari says, "I wanted to know more about the relationship between all of these divine beings, for lack of a better term. Immortals, Heralds. Gardeners, Guardians."

Illiya nods to Casari.

Vaerek pats Nevali on the back.

Shavay says, "When trying to research wild magic I've sensed an eons-long shift in how Elemental energy is flowing."

Casari says, "They coexisted for so, so long, and now they seem to be at war. Why? It seems like the Life mages might have lifted that veil a bit."

Shavay says, "But Grazir doesn't have a connection to Elemental."

Vaerek moves over to guard Nevali.

Nevali quirks one ear sideways in confusion.

Shavay says, "About that."

Nawain ponders.

Shavay says, "My thought is the Heralds aren't involved in this at all."

Kerennya nods at Tirost, obviously agreeing with his views.

Casari looks thoughtfully at Shavay.

Nevali raises her hand.

Shavay says, "And any talk of them has been a red herring. At least so far."

Malkien says, "Well, at least we didn't meteor Steelclaw Clan."

Illiya asks Shavay, "Whta makes you think that?"

Karthor strokes his beard in thoughtful contemplation.

Parkons says to Malkien, "Yet."

Malkien says, "There's time..."

Malkien nods to Parkons.

Shavay says, "If the Heralds have a problem with people using magic, those people LOSE their magic. Period. Just gone."

Shavay says, "They've done it before."

Sukidesu nods to Shavay.

Nawain says to Shavay, "The Gods said that the Heralds hold the Clans. They called them the Heralds, specifically."

Shavay says, "At least three times, from the historical record."

Casari says, "I agree, though, it could be that they're... busy, now."

Ezerak nods at Casari, obviously agreeing with her views.

Casari asks, "Nevali, you raised your hand?"

Nevali says, "Yes, I wanted to know..."

Xionara softly says, "Still want to know why."

Shavay says, "Again, a vision of something appearing as, or claiming to be, one of the Immortals."

Xionara softly asks, "Heralds drinking so much mana. Why?"

Sukidesu says, "I don't doubt Enelne, but it could also be...rogue heralds. Maybe not *all* Heralds. There's still much we don't know."

Nevali asks, "Someone said they saw cities "beneath" Grazhir. Would that be from the perspective of--no, let me word it different... were the cities on Elanthia or beneath Grazhir's crust?"

Selanya just left.

Xionara grumbles.

Shavay says, "There are definitely powerful forces mucking about, but I don't think the Heralds are involved. Yet."

Xionara nods to Shavay.

Nawain gazes at Shavay.

Xionara softly says, "Felt that way myself."

Nawain shrugs.

Casari says, "From my perspective, it looked like the cities, and mountains, and forests, and everything on Elanthia was being ravaged by the shards falling from Grazhir."

Xionara nods to Shavay.

Nawain slowly empties her lungs.

Gwenddolyn says, "You should try this same experiment here again tonight, to see if it gives you something different."

Nevali nods to Casari.

Illiya leans over and scratches Nawain's back.

Nevali says, "Alright, makes sense."

Useff says, "I felt like I was among the falling shards."

Woten raises his hand.

Nevali says, "No ancient civilizations living in Grazhir, maybe. So far."

Shavay nods at Useff, obviously agreeing with his views.

Selanya just arrived.

Xionara chuckles at Nevali.

Illiya smiles at Nawain, revealing the dimples in her cheeks.

Casari says, "There were... blue and white flames, as far as the eye could see."

Shavay says, "Felt like I was tagging along with Mary, here."

Karthor strokes his beard in thoughtful contemplation.

Shavay leans against the silvery-white shard Marendin.

Casari nods to Shavay.

Eyst gives a slight nod.

Shavay casually observes the area.

Illiya asks Casari, "May I ask why you chose this shard in particular?"

Shavay says, "And... not smited by a Moon Mage for the casual heresy. Fantastic."

Casari grins.

Nevali says, "I mean... could be people living in the moon, if the Heralds made the planet, and then later made the moons, who knows, really, and if there are people who can be dragons, then maybe the "World Dragon" in Grazhir was just like... one of the Dragon-Guardian-Herald people having a really big blow up about stuff."

Casari says to Illiya, "My house is two blocks awayh."

Nevali gazes off into the distance.

Illiya flashes a quick grin at Casari.

Shavay grins at Casari.

Hondashi gently says, "Wish there was a way to see Katamba's perspective..."

Woten says to Casari, "Again, maybe you have the right idea, or at least a good idea, but perhaps we need to try again at areas with potent connections to elemental magic, especially areas also associated with the Divine."

Nawain nods to Hondashi.

Casari says to Woten, "It's a good thought."

Shavay says, "Okay, so blatantly Elemental artifacts include..."

Shavay says, "The Zaulfung stones..."

Shavay ponders.

Shavay says, "The Suur Pillar..."

Casari says, "The more information we have, the better. Whatever we can learn, or glean from ancient memory, the more we can understand what's happening and how to fix it. For real."

Malkien says, "Anuril's mother."

Vaerek pats Nevali on the back.

Illiya gives Malkien a playful poke in the ribs.

Woten says, "The Suur pillar is alleged to be around Fornsted, and the Zengmodaleth portal is in the same area, something that is still vaguely understood."

Malkien praises Anuril.

Anuril fixes Malkien with a serene, lofty stare.

Katriwen says, "I was at the Zaulfung stones recently and tried to evoke, but nothing -- it might work with more of us though."

Casari says, "My concern from last andu's vision from Elanthia... is that the... Guardians? That they are fighting for their survival, and that may be why so much energy is needed. I would hope no one here would suggest that they do not have a right to exist."

Malkien says, "There's that mechanism in the Plane of Electricity near Theren."

Sukidesu says, "The custodians were interesting...I wonder if there's a way to...talk to them...instead of them just attacking us."

Woten says to Sukidesu, "Tried that, many times."

Sukidesu snaps his fingers.

Illiya asks Shavay, "Why do you think a Bardic evoke should be attempted at a place with elemental significance?"

Casari asks, "And it seems like what the Immortals brought long ago may be harming them. So... how do we fix that where both the Guardians of old and our Immortals can live together and be sustained?"

Karthor says, "Usually the loss o' somethin' called a "Guardian" tends to put one at risk in some way."

Vaerek nods to Karthor.

Casari nods emphatically at Karthor.

Shavay asks, "Are there any artifacts still lying about Chyolvea Tayeu'a?"

Casari says to Karthor, "Exactly."

Sukidesu ponders.

Katriwen nods at Casari, obviously agreeing with her views.

Anuril nods to Casari.

Woten says, "There are a number of fascinating artifacts at Chyolvea, but they are just cool sculptures."

Vaerek asks Shavay, "You mean have we discovered any of the other artifacts laying about?"

Shavay says to Illiya, "Well, just that we have more of a connection to that, magically, than the others."

Malkien says, "Liraxes has also built some device out the west gate of Crossings. It's built like a furnace and made of icesteel, it's possible it is a conduit for lots of mana, particularly elemental mana."

Karthor says, "To expound a bit on that, it felt like the Immortals didn't even realize they were harmin' the Guardians."

Vaerek grins at Shavay.

Shavay says, "So if that has any effect..."

Tirost says to Casari, "Turning your back on the Immortals, whom I assume have supported you, seems unwise."

Gwenddolyn nods at Karthor, obviously agreeing with his views.

Trajan says, "To be fair, it's been made clear to use that the Heralds are not at all concerned with whether we exist, or not."

Casari says to Tirost, "And it would be extra unwise to suggest that I've ever turned my back on the Immortals."

Casari winks at Tirost.

Gwenddolyn nods at Tirost, obviously agreeing with his views.

Trajan says, "Turnabout is fair play."

Shavay says, "The Heralds have always been a force of balance, that's it."

Eyst gives a slight nod.

Nawain nods to Tirost.

Gwenddolyn says, "That may not be true if they've been sucking out the mana."

Shavay says, "If something tries to shift things too far in one direction, they get swatted down and smoothed over."

Vaerek asks, "How many times have the gods been cruel?"

Woten says, "Perhaps the damage Maelshyve did to the Plane of Abiding has gotten worse since her death. Maybe she was like a 'plug' in the hole she made, and with her essence gone the damage has accelerated."

Tirost says to Casari, "Yet all of your words are in favor of helping what you think are Heralds, whom you know little about."

Kerennya asks, "So who swats the swatters when THEY get out of line?"

A pained expression crosses Nawain's face.

Karthor says to Trajan, "On the other hand, they sent messangers givin' us a chance to turn from what they say's our error rather'n just takin' a drastic action tha'd be much worse fer us. That implies a certain degree o' care."

Shavay says, "Thirteen to twenty-six out of thirty-nine."

Casari says, "All of Creation deserves to be here and live in harmony. That's my starting point. I do not want a war between peoples, and I do not want a war between gods. I want to stop it."

Vaerek asks, "Maybe not your god but other gods you don't support?"

Katriwen says, "They may not need us to exist, and we could still need them. It might not be as simple as one side or the other."

Nawain slowly empties her lungs.

Tirost says to Karthor, "Or they would have taken drastic action if they could have, and were prevented by the Immortals."

Trajan shakes his head at Karthor.

Nawain nods at Tirost, obviously agreeing with his views.

Nawain makes a grunting noise.

Gwenddolyn says, "Without favors or magic, we would perish."

Karthor says to Tirost, "I s'pose that's also possible."

Vaerek peers quizzically at Gwenddolyn.

Trajan says to Karthor, "Asildu made it clear that they're going to do what they're going to do, with, or without our support."

Vaerek says to Gwenddolyn, "Not exactly."

Illiya smiles at Shavay, revealing the dimples in her cheeks.

Rileos says, "The arguin portion of all these things is my favorite part."

Rileos appears to be trying hard not to grin.

Shavay says, "Oh, THAT guy."

Gwenddolyn says, "No raising the dead, no favors."

Ezerak chuckles at Rileos.

Nawain snorts at Rileos.

Shavay says, "I don't think he has any idea what he's talking about, or any connection to the Heralds."

Shyna says, "What if what is happening here happened on Grazhir and it wasn't just a moon? A precurser."

Woten asks, "Actually... what about trying to do a recall near Maelshyve's pith? The area is relatively stable, and she was ANCIENT and came here from... somewhere else, so perhaps there's some knowledge to gain?"

Illiya grins at Rileos, her dimples flashing into view.

Vaerek says to Gwenddolyn, "We could sustain ourselves withouth those favors."

Shavay says, "He may feel he has a connection to *something*... but nah. Not the Heralds."

Malkien nods at Rileos, obviously agreeing with his views.

Illiya says to Rileos, "Me too, it's when I can tune out and have a snack or something."

Vaerek says, "Favors are fodder."

Malkien says, "I'm just hoping we piss something off enough to drop drakes."

Casari sighs.

Gwenddolyn shakes her head.

Vaerek looks at Malkien and sighs.

Light of the World Gwenddolyn goes southwest, leading her group.

Shavay asks, "The problem with a demonic area like that I think would have the same issue with Grazhir's shard. The origin is 'elsewhere', so would it have enough connection here to provide any context?"

Casari sarcastically says, "Yes, more violence, that's always the answer."

Rileos looks at Malkien, obviously trying not to grin.

Woten says, "Eh, Shard usually gets invaded by better stuff than Drakes."

Vaerek nods to Casari.

Eyst tugs at the tip of his mustache distractedly.

Illiya asks Casari, "How do you feel about what you have seen through your evoke and the overall success of this attempt?"

Casari nods at Shavay, obviously agreeing with his views.

Woten asks Shavay, "It's more about the timing than anything. Same with trying to recall Grazhir, maybe the extra perspective or context can provide another clue?"

Shavay ponders.

Illiya chews pensively on a flamboyantly fluffy feather quill with an Elven silver nib.

Woten shrugs.

Illiya winks at Tirost.

Casari says to Illiya, "Astonished that it worked, and wishing it had worked even more."

Tirost smiles at Illiya.

Sukidesu ponders.

Illiya nods to Casari.

Shavay says, "Hey, it was a great idea."

Useff says to Casari, "Maybe we could repeat it with more Bards."

Casari nods to Useff.

Shavay says, "And this shard has a better view than most of the others."

Vaerek says, "I'll ask this question only once."

Shavay grins.

Useff says, "And it's close to Casari's house."

Nawain observes Vaerek with fascination.

Casari nods emphatically.

Katriwen says, "Well, if we do want to try recalling at other places, I'm up for it, just tell me where to show up."

Zynell grins at Useff.

Vaerek says, "Give up your native casting if you think it is doing harm."

Illiya flashes a quick grin at Useff.

Trajan asks, "Are there any shards of Grazhir located in Zoluren?"

Tirost says to Vaerek, "Why? The Immortals have not asked us to."

Nawain snorts, loudly.

Woten says, "" Vaerek didn't sound like much of a question."

Shavay says, "Yes."

Casari says to Trajan, "At least one, at the guild there."

Trajan nods to Casari.

Nawain says to Vaerek, "That's... Not how magic works. There's always a bit of our native mana going into things when we cast. Always."

Ezerak says, "Two, if you consider Leth to be Zoluren."

Vaerek asks Tirost, "But why cast sorcerous spells if pure mana is the problem?"

Ezerak appears to be trying hard not to grin.

Casari smirks at Ezerak.

Vaerek shakes his head.

Vaerek says, "I don't believe."

Nawain says to Vaerek, "I know. You don't believe alot of things."

Nawain pats Vaerek on the back.

Vaerek says, "You're all power hungry."

Nawain rolls her eyes.

Shavay says, "Leth Deriel is definitely Zoluren."

Vaerek asks, "How about we all stop casting at all?"

Casari says, "Leth Deriel is indeed currently considered a territory of Zoluren."

Tirost says to Vaerek, "Perhaps we have a purpose here, and they know that we will need to use the gift of magic that Meraud has taught us. There are many reasons, but the Immortals have been clear in what they seek."

Casari nods in agreement.

Vaerek asks, "Has anyone tried that?"

Nawain smiles at Tirost.

Sothios exclaims, "I have!"

Sothios exclaims, "I dont cast anything!"

Sothios strikes a heroic pose.

Vaerek asks Sothios, "How?"

Vaerek peers quizzically at Sothios.

Nawain fixes Vaerek with a solid, steady stare.

Nawain frowns, shaking her head with an expression of exasperation before resting her face in the palm of her hand.

Zynell says to Vaerek, "Extreme years of practice and talent."

Nawain rubs her neck.

Useff gazes upward.

Vaerek says, "I would give up magic all together if this would fix it."

Zynell's ears relax slightly as she gazes at Sothios contentedly.

Mendira nods to Illiya.

Sothios grins.

Casari says, "Thank you all for coming, and thanks to my guildmates again for your help in this experience. Feel free to converse and eat Illiya's food as long as you like."

Vaerek asks, "Who here could say that?"

Illiya laughs!

Woten stands up.

Trajan says to Vaerek, "We could also try giving up talking. You should start and let us know how it works."

Vaerek peers quizzically at Nawain.

A stone seat collapses back into the ground.

Malkien says, "I as well. I shall stop casting, in hopes to free our comrades."

Nawain says to Vaerek, "There's a guild for that. Two, even."

Useff gets a decadent chocolate cupcake topped with whipped cream and a cherry from atop a rainbow silk picnic cloth ringed in rencate cupcake charms.

(Mendira hands over some notes to Illiya.)

Useff says, "Thanks for the cupcakes, too."

Sothios nods to Malkien.

Illiya beams at Mendira!

Sothios says, "We appriciate the effort."

Nawain says to Vaerek, "Go do that. Roar at the world for a bit, see if that fixes it."

Sothios pats Malkien on the back.

Woten says, "Interesting experiment, thanks for the invitation."

Selanya goes southwest.

Katriwen quietly says, "Wait, I didn't know there were cupcakes."

Casari smiles.

Kerennya dryly says to Trajan, "That would take a blessed miracle."

Vaerek says, "Yeah, maybe I will."

Katriwen gets a vanilla frosted cupcake decorated with a small candy carrot from atop a rainbow silk picnic cloth ringed in rencate cupcake charms.

Nawain nods to Vaerek.

Katriwen smiles at Illiya.

Woten bows his head, acknowledging Casari.

Trajan nods to Kerennya.

Useff says to Casari, "Thanks - until next time."

Casari nods to Useff.

Useff waves a decadent chocolate cupcake topped with whipped cream and a cherry around.

Malkien grabs Rileos by the shoulders and shakes him!

Lore Keeper Useff strolls southwest.

Casari nods to Woten.

Rileos says, "Well, got another date with some sweaty and ornery men."

Malkien grabs Parkons by the shoulders and shakes him!

Vaerek says, "Magic seems to bring more problems than we can fix right now."

Ezerak says to Casari, "Thank you for doing this. It's certainly an interesting result, if not directly related to Wild Magic."

Rileos raises two fingers to his brow in a quick hand salute.

Anuril nods to Casari.

Anuril focuses briefly before the marauder blade is ripped violently asunder.

Woten shakes Tirost's hand.

Primal World Ender Anuril goes southwest.

Katriwen nods to Casari.

Roughneck Rileos moseys southwest.

Tirost shakes Woten's hand.

Karthor says, "Right then, this's been interestin'. Take care folks."

Casari nods in agreement.

Nawain just hugged Woten.

Woten raises his hand in a quick salute.

Karthor adjusts the fit of his spectacles.

Tirost says to Woten, "Take care, my friend."

Kerennya waves to Karthor.

Karthor raises his hand in a quick salute.

Chakrel Heart Malkien swaggers southwest.

Woten just hugged Nawain.

Trajan says, "Cupcakes, for those who are regular hungry, as opposed to power hungry."

Zynell playfully tilts her ears in opposite directions.

Shyna goes southwest.

Katriwen waves.

Woten strides southwest.

Vagabond Katriwen wanders southwest.

Bioexorcist Karthor plods southwest.

Casari says, "And with that... I'm going hope. Goodnight, everyone."

Casari says, "Hope? Home."

Zynell stands up.

Eyst nods politely to Casari.

Casari waves.

Illiya says, "At least you're close to home."

Illiya waves to Casari.

Zynell carefully gathers up the delicate folds of a night-black starlight velvet prayer tapestry stitched with loimic and fey-bone.

Casari nods at Illiya, obviously agreeing with her views.

Shavay chuckles.

Casari grins.

Kerennya takes a bite of the shrimp.

Zynell puts her tapestry in her encompassing shadows.

Firehawk Casari goes southwest.

Kerennya takes a bite of the shrimp.

Kerennya leaps to her feet!

Shavay says, "Golden Phoenix, here."

Shavay grins.

Vaerek shakes his head.

Knight of Meraud Tirost drifts southwest.

Vaerek says, "Gonna give it all up. Nothing seems to be working but farming."

Eyst nods politely to Zynell.

Trajan gets a decadent chocolate cupcake topped with whipped cream and a cherry from atop a rainbow silk picnic cloth ringed in rencate cupcake charms.

Sublime Mender Kerennya glides southwest.

Vaerek puts his iris in his treasureweave cylinder.

Ezerak lays his palms against Rienth's in a quick, yet deliberate movement.

Ezerak hugs Ysilda, who wraps her arms around Ezerak with a warm smile.

Vaerek strides southwest.

Ezerak doffs his top hat.

Nawain slowly empties her lungs.

Nawain stands up.

Illiya rubs Nawain in a friendly manner.

Mountain Lord Ezerak swaggers southwest.

Shavay tilts his cavalier hat back on his head.

Nawain hugs Nevali, getting a smile in return.

A stone seat collapses back into the ground.

Parkons puts his monograph in his hunting pack.

Trajan gets a decadent chocolate cupcake topped with whipped cream and a cherry from inside his warrior's satchel.

Trajan puts his cupcake in his warrior's satchel.

Soul Surgeon Zynell patters southwest, leading her group.

Esotericist Eyst plods southwest.

(Everyone departed. Log ended.)
