An inn built of seasoned wood is the only shop still open here, its windows and doorway bright with the glow of firelight and inviting the attention of those whose work does not end with the loss of sunlight. A side street leads off into the stableyard of the inn, where the whinnying of horses can be heard.
Also here: Albarian Exile Zalan, Forest Sprite Lileath who is accompanied by a pair of faintly glowing will-o-wisps, Seydin who is shining with a dark golden glow, Field Medic Darkewolff, Belzor who is surrounded by a shimmering shield, Consecrated Voice Jaelia who is emanating a benevolent holy aura, Shield Maiden Betlind, Heart Tender Kethrai, Veteran Apprentice Anuril who has a fiery visage, Philomath Miskton, Watcher Drunvalo, Songbird Mendira whose figure is gracefully highlighted in a soft aurora of silvery-violet light, Echyaes, Deceiver Zren, Knight Penitent Briaen who is surrounded by a corona of fiery light, Niliaevat Raesh Isen Malorna, Nepenthe Huebald, Panacea Timorias, Truthseeker Elurora whose figure is gracefully highlighted in a soft aurora of silvery-violet light, Leviathan Raikage who has a shadowy red-eyed raven perched on their shoulder, Kintryn, Knight of Meraud Tirost who is surrounded by seven circling blades of ice and Mountain Lord Ezerak.
Obvious paths: north, south.
[General] Your mind hears Zalinyar thinking, "Sorry for your loss Timo, I've Vaddon otherwise occupied digging at the moment"
You hear your mental voice echo to Crobin, "Where is she?"
You project your thoughts to Crobin.
You say, "One moment."
[General] Your mind hears Timorias thinking, "No!!!!"
Lileath glances at you.
Sidetracker Xionara just arrived, leading her group.
Crobin joins your group.
Kethrai says, "Leane is way south and then west."
Kethrai says, "Leayne."
Sidetracker Xionara slinks south, leading her group.
Kethrai coughs.
Crobin asks, "Did we lose here again?"
Crobin sighs.
Sidetracker Xionara just arrived, leading her group.
Kethrai says, "We never found her again."
You say to Crobin, "I was not able to find her."
Kethrai waves to Leayne.
Xionara joins your group.
Leayne giggles.
Xionara just nudged Xanarra.
Crobin says, "Join Ayrell."
Crobin chuckles.
Crobin pulls Leayne towards him!
Timorias grins.
Leayne joins your group.
Xanarra joins your group.
You ask, "Is everyone with me?"
You smile.
Leayne softly says, "I'm not hunting."
Xionara lets out a hearty cheer for Xanarra!
Darkewolff asks Elurora, "And you say I get lost?"
Crobin says, "This is a normal trip for Leayne and I."
Darkewolff snickers.
You chuckle at Crobin.
Timorias chuckles.
Tirost nods to you.
Elurora asks Darkewolff, "Did I?"
Elurora grins at Darkewolff.
You say, "We will begin moving again."
Darkewolff nods.
Darkewolff says, "Two patrols ago."
Timorias says, "I think Crobin and Leayne have become Rangers."
Crobin asks, "We were told of possible triage area tonight?"
Darkewolff chuckles.
Timorias whistles a merry tune.
Patrol
You go north, leading your group.
[Shard, Ruby Street]
Oldstyle Elothean architecture takes up most of the street on either side, the fluid, clean lines and golden rectangles of the structures at once efficiently utilizing the space the city has alloted them and aesthetically pleasing. Out of place to the rest of the street's design is an arched gate of diamondique and steel that rises to the north, its Elven motif cutting rudely into the otherwise purely Elothean scape. You also see an opulent domed building of marble and glass.
Elurora says to Darkewolff, "Must be when you get distracted by dirt."
Darkewolff nods to Elurora.
Darkewolff says, "Quite so."
Darkewolff nods.
Elurora chortles softly at some secret joke.
Kethrai says to Crobin, "No triage, normal patrol today."
Zalan takes a sip of his Venom.
Leayne softly says, "I don't fight."
Crobin says, "Aww."
Crobin moves over to guard Leayne.
Timorias says, "I don't fight either. I just poke things with sticks."
You go north, leading your group.
[Shard, South Entrance of The Great Tower]
A wall composed of the glittering, extremely hard substance known as diamondique wraps around the gardens that circle the Great Tower of Shard. A granite archway melts out of the otherwise seamless crystalline structure, the slots in its gated front revealing tantalizing slices of what lies beyond the walls. Ruby Street rolls in from the south to fork off east and west into two paths that skirt the wall and one central path of white quartz that leads into the courtyard of the Tower.
Tirost says to Leayne, "But you're a genius of healing."
Belzor coughs.
You go west, leading your group.
[Shard, Yavash Circle]
Nebulous swirls of crimson mix with the glowing diamondique of the wall that encircles the Great Tower. Jagged spikes of crystal jut up all along the rim of the protective structure, twinkling with the dangerous beauty of a starry thorn. A careful trick of the light bends and twists the red traces within the translucent material, causing them to form faceless figures with mouths open wide in a rictus of torment that seems like no trick at all.
You go northwest, leading your group.
[Shard, Yavash Circle]
The wall of diamondique coming from the southeast bonds to the wall of bone that closes in from the north in a glittering lace that resembles a coating of frost upon an old battlefield. The grass that edges the wall seems a little less green where it grows near the bones, as if it was lacking some vital nourishment.
Xionara softly says, "Hmm."
Crobin says, "She keeps me a live all the time."
You go north, leading your group.
[Shard, West Entrance of The Great Tower]
Moonstone Street quietly empties into the west entryway of the Great Tower, the dark street flowing like a carefully diverted river north, south, and east. A wall of bones -- rumored to be a mixture of dragon, Dragon Priests, and the Elven and Elothean heroes who laid down their lives in the last great war -- embraces an arch of glittering crystal, the skulls that mount its rim glaring down on all who would trespass upon the Ferdahl's garden.
Xionara draws forth a tyrium sabre.
Ezerak asks Leayne, "Do you know where the triage is, should we need it?"
You go north, leading your group.
[Shard, Yavash Circle]
A wall of carved bone encircles the Great Tower on its west face, the skulls that mount its rim glaring down with watchful intent. Bits of cloth and threads from clothing cling to the teeth of some of the hollow-eyed guardians, and whether they were carefully placed there by enterprising city guards, or the skulls actually came to life to bite into trespassers, is a mystery few wish to test.
You go northeast, leading your group.
[Shard, Yavash Circle]
The wall of bone that curves in from the southwest blends in with a wall of plaster from the east. Green vines drape like a sylph's locks over one side of the white-washed plaster wall, the verdant life of nature a curious contrast to the morbid unlife of death. You also see a door barely visible behind great swathes of brilliant green ivy.
Timorias says, "Even though you do push her to her abilities."
Timorias grins.
Zalan takes a sip of his Venom.
Elurora nods at Darkewolff, obviously agreeing with his views.
Crobin says, "At times."
You say, "We can stop by the triage building as we walk. It is good to know where it is, as we do not advise announcing the location via the gweth."
Timorias nods.
You go east, leading your group.
[Shard, North Entrance of The Great Tower]
A high plaster wall marks the end of Diamond Street, the road narrowing down until it splits into three parts. One leads up to a sweeping marble archway, while the other two paths circumvent the barrier. The night reflects off the tower's polished surface, blurring its outline until it seems to melt into the stars.
Crobin says, "She is very patient with me."
Ezerak nods at you, obviously agreeing with your views.
You go east, leading your group.
[Shard, Yavash Circle]
A high plaster wall creates a barrier around which the path curls. Adjacent to that, the impeccable sides of the lavish homes of the privileged of Shard hem the other side of the path in, leaving little room for navigation. Crouched beside the path and taking up much of the precious space is a ramshackle building that seems completely out of place. A barely legible sign hangs over the doorway. You also see an Imperial dira, some sufil sap and an ilmenite runestone.
Malorna grins.
Timorias chuckles.
You go southeast, leading your group.
[Shard, Yavash Circle]
Fine tendrils of vines curl over the top of the wall that hems in the trail. The wall melts from plaster where it curves in from the northwest to the solid brick of the wall that sweeps in from the south. The tops of the brick part of the wall have been embedded with black ironwrought pikes, their tips sharp and very pointy.
You go south, leading your group.
[Shard, East Entrance of The Great Tower]
Sunstone Street ends in a three-way split before an ash arch that serves as the entryway into a flourishing garden. A tall wall of brick imbedded at the top with pike tips creates a fearsome barrier between the gleaming silver tower beyond the wall, and the city before it.
Timorias says, "Its ok brother. We love ya anyway."
You go east, leading your group.
[Shard, Sunstone Street]
This section of town seems completely unlike the rest, enfolded in a pocket of peace and tranquility that radiates from the sedate structure of the Temple of Light. Even in darkness, the glow of hundreds of candles and fires from within keeps the building out of the shadows. And even in darkness, the doors to the temple remain open, the gentle sound of rhythmic chanting floating out over the air. You also see some shattered glass, some dirt, some shattered glass, some shattered glass, some shattered glass and some shattered glass.
You go east, leading your group.
[Shard, Sunstone Street]
Small homes and shops sit between the city's temple to the west, and the Bridge of Wrens to the east. One curious building covered entirely in ivy and closed etrana blossoms sits close to the riverlet's bank, its door chained shut. The inquisitive twitter of sleeping birds floats down from the shop's eaves.

[Assuming you mean the Bridge of Wrens.]
[Shard, Sunstone Street via The Bridge of Wrens]
The sound of rushing water flows up from beneath the Bridge of Wrens. The glassy material which composes the structure glows softly, as if with its own light. Two parts of the bridge splits off to the north- and southwest, leading up to a darkened northeast street of Shard, while the rest of it connects smoothly to the west and east with Sunstone Street.
Obvious paths: east, southwest, west, northwest.
Xanarra, Leayne, Xionara, Crobin, Zalan, Lileath, Seydin, Darkewolff, Belzor, Jaelia, Betlind, Kethrai, Anuril, Miskton, Drunvalo, Mendira, Echyaes, Zren, Briaen, Malorna, Huebald, Timorias, Elurora, Raikage, Kintryn, Tirost and Ezerak followed.
You go east, leading your group.
[Shard, Sunstone Street]
Sunstone Street's cobblestones wink like fallen stars as the street sweeps slowly up to form the Bridge of Wrens to the west. Quiet homes surrounded by shadowy gardens stand to either side of the lane, their painted fronts and sides dulled by the darkness. High overhead the beating of wings chases over the velvet night, the call of a nightingale seeking to sing down the moons echoing over the stillness. You also see a small ivy-draped home.
You go east, leading your group.
[Shard, Sunstone Street]
A building quite out of place to the rest of the city lords over a large part of this portion of Sunstone Street. Torches have been shoved into sconces along the sides, causing the horses that are painted on the building's walls to flicker and dance animatedly. The light is too poor to illuminate the sign that hangs over the doorway, although by day it would be prominent enough.
You go east, leading your group.
[Shard, Sunstone Street]
A small shop adorned with hanging baskets outside its door is the only remarkable landmark on the street. A cold breeze, sweeping up off the lake, clamps chilly fingers around everything with a viselike grip that is only shaken with plenty of coats and blankets.
You go east, leading your group.
[Shard, Sunstone Street]
The street is almost depressingly empty with the onset of night. From time to time a cloaked and anxious-looking peasant scurries by, exposing themselves only briefly to the darkness before heading into the safety of a home or other establishment.
You go east, leading your group.
[Shard, Sunstone Street]
The gentle rise of the Bridge of Wrens glitters over the western horizon, its slow arch disappearing as it dips down. Beyond that, the flanged spikes of the Temple of Light shoot up, snagging on the sky. The shadow of the city walls falls heavily across the ground, protective of the houses and businesses it enfolds.
Tour of Triage
You go east, leading your group.
[Shard, East City Gates]
Flames from smoky torches mounted on the city's walls flutter in a lakeside breeze and throw a fitful light over the ground, casting shadows on the Eastern Gate. The shadowy outline of the Tower of Brickwell rises up to the north, the faint sound of snapping cloth coming from the Keep's direction. You also see a ladder to the top of the wall, a prominent warning sign and the Sentinel Neharon.
Miskton nods politely to the Sentinel Neharon.
You say, "So, for triage..."
Xionara chuckles.
The Shard sentinel strides in, his steely grey eyes intently watching for signs of trouble.
Elurora smiles at you.
Betlind nods to a Shard sentinel.
You say, "The best way to remember the location is to start here at the east gate."
You nod politely to the Sentinel Neharon.
You go south, leading your group.
[Shard, Xibar's Crescent Road]
A healthy array of well-tended gardens awaits onlookers who pass down this pocket street. While the homes here are not the finest in Shard, there is no mistaking the mark of careful upkeep. You also see a set of wooden doors attached to a large building and a wooden gate.
You say, "Move southward."

[Triage Building]
A pervading sense of orderliness rests within the expansive single-room building. The open floor plan is sectioned off into easily recognizable areas outfitted for distinct purposes. To the east wall rests a large medicinal cabinet and a stack of pallets. Several padded benches line the walls near the entrance and an ebony weapons rack appears on the western wall. Towards the back, several pallets are set out for the care of terminal patients and dead bodies. You also see a large waste receptacle and a large wash basin with a porcelain pitcher with a porcelain water pitcher on it.
Obvious exits: out.
Xanarra, Leayne, Xionara, Crobin, Zalan, Lileath, Seydin, Darkewolff, Belzor, Jaelia, Betlind, Kethrai, Anuril, Miskton, Drunvalo, Mendira, Echyaes, Zren, Briaen, Malorna, Huebald, Timorias, Elurora, Raikage, Kintryn, Tirost and Ezerak followed.
You say, "And through these doors."
Belzor says, "Oh, wonderful."
Belzor says, "A nice building for it."
Crobin says, "Oh you have a Triage building."
Belzor says, "Next to the sentry."
Crobin says, "Nice."
Belzor nods.
Elurora flashes a quick grin at Darkewolff.
Jaelia says, "This is a perfect place and it stays safe because no one talks about it on the gweth."
You say, "So, best way to remember is... east gate... south... and through the doors."
You smile.
Huebald nods to Crobin.
You nod at Jaelia, in complete agreement with her views.
Xanarra's tail undulates lazily through the air.
Elurora nods at you, obviously agreeing with your views.
Tirost nods to you.
Zren nods to you.
Leayne nods.
Huebald nods at you, obviously agreeing with your views.
You say to Jaelia, "That is exactly why we attempt to keep is quiet."
Crobin hugs Huebald, who wraps his arms around Crobin with a warm smile.
You say, "As we all know from experience, once the location is made public, it is no longer safe."
Leayne softly says, "I need to stay in one place to buff up."
Ezerak nods at you, obviously agreeing with your views.
You ask Leayne, "Do you need a brief moment?"
Huebald beams at Crobin!
Leayne nods.
Timorias says, "Everyone just Guard her."
Elurora moves over to guard Leayne.
Timorias moves over to guard Leayne.
You say, "Herbs can be stored within the cabinets here. We do try to stock them, when possible."
Xionara moves over to guard Leayne.
Ezerak asks, "That reminds me, I need to take a trip...down to Hib I think?"
Crobin nods to Huebald.
Elurora chuckles at Darkewolff.
Darkewolff snickers.
Ezerak says, "For some of those recipes."
Leayne softly says, "Ok, have regen up at least."
Mendira smiles.
Leayne softly says, "Good to go."
You ask, "Does anyone else need a moment before we continue?"
You smile.
Malorna says, "Good."
You nod.
Belzor says to you, "No ma'am."
Jaelia nods.
You say, "We will continue, then."
You smile.
Resuming Patrol
You go out, leading your group.
Seydin just arrived.
Seydin joins your group.
Elurora grins at Seydin.
Reiku fades into view.
Reiku joins your group.
Reiku casually observes the area.
Jaelia beams at Reiku!
Seydin says, "Poorly timed on my part."
Crobin waves to Reiku.
Reiku nods politely.
You say, "So, for those who are joining us for the first time, we conduct a thorough patrol of the city. Main streets, side streets, and all residential areas."
You go northwest, leading your group.
[Shard, Street of the Four Moons]
An herb garden grows beside the door to a whitewashed wooden home, displaying a neatly tended collection of kitchen herbs. Close at hand for watering the plants, a dipper sits in a wooden bucket upon the stoop. Old-fashioned stained glass panels top the windows, forming colorful designs of flowers and leaves. You also see a cozy red brick house and a sturdy stone block home.
Timorias says, "We are gathering people as we move. We will have 300 people before long."
Timorias snickers.
You nod at Timorias, in complete agreement with his views.
The Shard sentinel strides in, her steely grey eyes intently watching for signs of trouble.
Reiku stands near Raikage.
Xanarra smiles, revealing the dimples in her cheeks.
You say, "All the more to help keep the city safe."
You smile.
You go northwest, leading your group.
[Shard, Street of the Four Moons]
Elderly homes made of brick and wood line the street. Typical of older Elothean homes, the arched entries are inlaid with fan-shaped panes of golden glass. Slight variations in the color of the brick and paint mark repairs to the homes which, while old, are lovingly maintained by their owners. You also see a grey stone block house and a cozy oak frame home.
Miskton chuckles.
Elurora nods to you.
Anuril dryly says to Timorias, "So long as we don't have to defend a narrow mountain pass..."
You go northwest, leading your group.
[Shard, Street of the Four Moons]
Elven ivy clings to the mortar of a low brick wall which runs along the street. The thin green tendrils have pulled loose a few bricks, but new white mortar has been applied to patch the holes. A white marble capstone turns a rather utilitarian fence into a convenient place to relax while talking to neighbors. You also see a blue stucco house, an oak frame cottage with a striking arabesque orbweaver hanging in a web attached to the eaves, a cedar-trimmed stone block cottage with some blooming pink rose bushes at the edge of the yard and a red brick abode.
Leviathan Raikage just arrived.
Timorias laughs!
Raikage joins your group.
You hear someone snickering.
You go northwest, leading your group.
[Shard, Street of the Four Moons]
Bird feeders hang from the branches of a creamy-blossomed lemon tree, attracting a flock of brightly-colored songbirds. During the day, their cheerful songs fill the quiet side street with music. Scattered feathers upon the ground indicate the presence of neighborhood cats who regard the tiny creatures as dinner. You also see a cozy oak frame cottage with a wooden herb planter hanging outside the window and a dark rose sandstone home.
You go northwest, leading your group.
[Shard, Street of the Four Moons]
Vegetables grow in a community garden at the end of the street, providing fresh produce for local residents. Green beans, t'mat and merziel fruit are just a few of the varieties visible. A nearby well provides a convenient source of water required to maintain the lush growth. You also see an oak-shingled stone block cottage and an ivy-covered limestone dwelling.
Leayne stands near Crobin.
You go southeast, leading your group.

A healthy array of well-tended gardens awaits onlookers who pass down this pocket street. While the homes here are not the finest in Shard, there is no mistaking the mark of careful upkeep. You also see a set of wooden doors attached to a large building and a wooden gate.
Seydin moves into position to cover Zren from harm.
Timorias says, "If we do, then I volunteer to be the messenger."
Timorias hums to himself.
You chuckle at Timorias.
You go southwest, leading your group.
[Shard, Xibar's Crescent Road]
Fences draped with leaves painted black by the night point the way to Greenwall's Tower to the southwest. A low-roofed shop all but hidden behind a nest of ivy sits darkened and locked up, slumbering away the evening with the other homes here. You also see a diamondique arch leading to the Engineering Society.
Timorias grins.
Anuril pats Timorias on the back.
You go southwest, leading your group.
[Shard, Xibar's Crescent Road]
The mossy and almost entirely plant-covered Tower of Greenwalls grows out of the side of the crystalline city walls like a blade of grass through a sheath of glittering frost here. To the northwest the Bridge of Silver sweeps in a graceful arch over a verdant water channel, its construction completely composed of several silverwillow trees that have been lifesculpted to interlock and form a bridge of boughs and leaves. You also see an unfinished burlap blanket and a grassy path leading around to one side of the tower.
You notice Reiku trying to remain hidden while speaking.
You hear the soft voice of Reiku ask, "Don't people typically shoot the messengers?"
Elurora says, "At least we don't have to sneak up on anything, I can't imagine how badly that would go with all of us."
Timorias says, "All the time but I'm short and quick."
Malorna asks, "Depends on the message?"
Betlind grins at Elurora, her dimples flashing into view.
Kethrai says, "Small target."
Timorias grins at Elurora.
Patrol of the City - South
You say, "As we move through the southern part of the city, keep an extra close look for anything out of the ordinary. It was around here we were attacked before."
Kethrai nods to Timorias.
Xanarra nods.
You go southwest, leading your group.
[Shard, Xibar's Crescent Road]
The once-sad shell of a ruined house has been refurbished to make a tiny red-shuttered shop. While the renovations have rendered it habitable, it still retains its quirky charm as a home of sorts to the plant life of the area, the green children of the Rangers. Bricks have been converted to pots that hold fragrant herbs, and the remains of support beams and the fence, now repaired, have been wrapped with ivy. You also see a black tent with a deep purple awning.
Betlind nods emphatically.
Xanarra perks up her ears, glancing around alertly.
Jaelia sings in a soprano voice:
"Here I sing a marching song If you know the words then sing along But I make them up as I go But can you guess them I don't think so Your brain is focused on the danger or some shadow hiding bad guy stranger But still you march just like a Group But please don't step in dog or horse .... Gloop"
Seydin says, "They'd never hear an individual with all the clanking."
You notice Reiku trying to remain hidden while speaking.
You hear the soft voice of Reiku say, "Sounds like a challenge..."
You go west, leading your group.
[Shard, Xibar's Crescent Road]
The repaired southern wall of the city stands tall and proud, burnished with a pale blue color to mirror the street's namesake. The raised cobblestone road gives a good view of the arced road that runs around the outer edge of the great city, allowing passersby to see the Great Tower to the north. Several caravans parked to the side are closed up tight, awaiting the new day to be unloaded. You also see a black granite arch leading into the Shard Outfitting Society Building.
You go west, leading your group.
[Shard, South Square]
Like a barren tree in springtime, this quarter of the city shows signs of renewed life. Ruby Street to the north brings shoppers and travelers to a large cobbled square in an area that citizens and visitors once would have avoided. The most prominent sign of the reawakening is the New South Bridge on the rebuilt side of the square. You also see a wooden barricade and the Sentinel Janeros.
Timorias says, "I'll just have Bacon protect me."
Miskton nods politely to the Sentinel Janeros.
Timorias points at a curly tailed black piglet.
Kethrai nods to the Sentinel Janeros.
Xionara sniffs at a curly tailed black piglet.
Seydin nods to Timorias.
You ask, "If the healers in our midst would be so kind as to perceive the area and see if you sense anything unusual, please?"
Kethrai closes his eyes for a moment and grows still.
You nod politely to the Sentinel Janeros.
Xionara rubs her nose.
Tirost glances at Xionara.
Ezerak doffs his top hat at the Sentinel Janeros.
Timorias closes his eyes for a moment and grows still.
Xionara fidgets nervously.
Ezerak scans the area briefly.
Kethrai says, "Nothing out of the ordinary."
Huebald closes his eyes for a moment and grows still.
Xionara sniffs at a curly tailed black piglet.
Timorias says, "Clear."
Tirost grins at Xionara.
You nod to Kethrai.
You nod to Timorias.
Xionara fidgets nervously.
You say, "Thank you."
Seydin says, "Good idea. Bacon has protected me with a good layer of padding."
You smile.
Xionara softly says, "B-b-b-...acon..."
Xanarra stands near Xionara.
Xionara sniffs at a curly tailed black piglet.
Timorias chuckles at Xionara.
You suspect that a Warrior Mage could give you healers that are in the mist.
Tirost nods to Kintryn.
Xanarra grins at Xionara, her dimples flashing into view.
Xionara inhales a great swallow of air.
Tirost moves over to guard Kintryn.
You chuckle.
Ezerak says to Xionara, "They smell better after some smoking and curing."
You go west, leading your group.
[Shard, Xibar's Crescent Road]
The Tower of Honor to the west and north, despite the presence of nightfall, retains some remnant of the sun's light in its quartz stone, exuding a gentle glow that lends a moonlight-bright illumination to everything nearby. The sounds of miserable coughing and clicking boots on crystalline wallwalks echoes up to the east where the unlucky south city gates guards make their rounds. You also see the Shard Forging Society Building.
Xionara slowly empties her lungs.
Crobin says, "Bacon is pretty great."
Timorias says, "Hes a Mean, cruel, vicous Piglet."
Malorna says, "We need more bacon."
Tirost nods to Crobin.
Xionara softly says, "Da..da...da... no pig here... la la..."
Xionara stares blankly into the distance.
You go west, leading your group.
[Shard, Xibar's Crescent Road]
The Tower of Honor sweeps up to the northwest like a candle elegantly sculpted of fitted blocks of quartz. A soft glow radiates out from the solitary structure, the result of the light-absorbing qualities of the stone by the masoner's account, the result of the pure spirits that serve the tower -- the Paladins of Ilithi -- by legend.
Timorias chuckles.
Crobin nods to Malorna.
Xanarra giggles at Xionara.
You go northwest, leading your group.
[Shard, Xibar's Crescent Road]
The Tower of Honor -- home to the Paladins of Shard -- rises straight and tall out of the side of the winking facets of the city walls. The milky white stone that composes the keep shines softly, for all the world looking as if it were an odd, earthbound piece of the fourth moon of legend. To the northeast, the Bridge of Suns braces its goldenoak feet against the bank of a water channel that would separate Xibar Street from Sapphire Avenue.
(Xionara plugs her fingers in her ears.)
Kethrai closes his eyes for a moment and grows still.
Tirost quietly says to Xionara, "Don't you dare..."
Timorias closes his eyes for a moment and grows still.
[Assuming you mean the Bridge of Suns.]
[Shard, Sapphire Avenue]
The Bridge of Suns spans confidently over the dark water channel that sweeps through Shard here. Beyond it, the glowing Tower of Honor can be clearly seen casting a soft nimbus down on the grounds that lie about it. There is a sense of safety here -- this is a place where the denizens leave their doors unlocked at night with no fear.
Obvious paths: northeast.
Raikage, Seydin, Xanarra, Leayne, Xionara, Crobin, Zalan, Lileath, Darkewolff, Belzor, Jaelia, Betlind, Kethrai, Anuril, Miskton, Drunvalo, Mendira, Echyaes, Zren, Briaen, Malorna, Huebald, Timorias, Elurora, Kintryn, Tirost and Ezerak followed.
Betlind grins, revealing her dimples.
You go northeast, leading your group.
[Shard, Sapphire Avenue]
A round, squat building -- clearly of Halfling architecture -- curls like an over-excitable kitten amidst the otherwise sober and silent Elven and Elothean homes here. Small drawings of butterflies, winged ale kegs, and tipsy Fae -- done in luminescent green and blue paint -- decorate the sides of the building. The stalks of some bizarre plant jealously guard the well-lit entrance to the tavern, their flowers brushing all but the shortest patrons.
You go northeast, leading your group.
[Shard, Sapphire Avenue]
Shadows fall like curtains, blurring the features of the homes that line the darkly cobbled street. In the distance, the Great Tower of Shard knifes the sky in a glow of silver light that shines through the night. To the southwest the Tower of Honor echoes that glow, a pale pearl shadow of the city's heart. You also see a brown-trimmed blue shop.
Miskton inhales deeply of the drink.
Leviathan Raikage just arrived.
Raikage joins your group.
(Jaelia spends a few minutes counting and comparing features between Xionara and Xanarra if they might share a common family member somewhere, but doesn't seem to find what she's looking for.)
You go northeast, leading your group.
[Shard, Sapphire Avenue Green]
The street encircles lonely arms around a disk of darkened grass and softly whispering trees here. The soft, shattered music of a fountain complements the sense of emptiness in a rain of silvered droplets. The lane and the green are almost perfect in their solidarity, save for the occasional echo of an outburst of laughter coming from the general southwest direction and, more specifically, the tavern that lies in said direction.
Xionara softly says to Tirost, "It... looks... so... delicious...."
You go northeast, leading your group.
[Shard, Sapphire Avenue]
The lane sweeps in a clean angle northeast and southwest. A curious, ramshackle two-story building juts like a growth waiting to be lanced amongst the other residentials. Something shadowy and heavy hangs from the shop's darkened porch, and a strange, ghostly clicking floats through the air around it, sounding for all the world like some spectre rattling its fingerbones to scare off unwanted guests. You also see Unshoba.
You go northeast, leading your group.
[Shard, Sapphire Avenue]
The cobblestone street melts into the south entrance of the Great Tower to the northeast and leads off to a residential district and -- further along -- the Tower of Honor to the southwest.
Xionara rubs her nose.
Kethrai closes his eyes for a moment and grows still.
Xionara fidgets nervously.
You go northeast, leading your group.
Heart Tender Kethrai just arrived.
Kethrai joins your group.
You go southeast, leading your group.
[Shard, Crystal Lane]
Flecks of black minerals glitter in the cobblestones like dying stars whose true sickly nature has been revealed by the weak light of the evening. Shadows gnaw at the foundations of the older buildings, crouching in deep pools at their feet. The remnant scent of baked bread hovers around a small shop on the northeast side of the street, now closed for the evening.
You go southeast, leading your group.
[Shard, Crystal Lane]
Meager buildings line the street to the left and right, none rising over two stories, all bowing to the vaulted greatness of the silvery Great Tower to the northwest. Nestled between two modest structures, a little crimson-shingled shop sits quietly in the nighttime gloom.
Timorias scoops a curly tailed black piglet up into his arms.
You go southeast, leading your group.
[Shard, Crystal Lane]
Decay has clawed away at many of the old buildings to the south, the ravaged remnants of one war of fire and destruction, and another of time and neglect. Surprisingly, the buildings to the north have all been either refurbished or rebuilt entirely. The line of construction here is more than just conjecture, it can be traced with the eye right down to the palpable discrepancy in the street's state of repair from one side to the next. You also see a grim black building.
Tirost quietly says to Xionara, "It does, and we could cook it so easily... but that's someone's beloved pet."
Elurora grins at Timorias.
Timorias gives a curly tailed black piglet a friendly pet between its ears. It squeals happily and nuzzles his hand in return.
You go southeast, leading your group.
[Shard, Crystal Lane]
The promise of thriving life that otherwise lingers in the rest of the city has died here. Crumbling homes that can no longer support families, businesses that cannot stave off petty thieves or entice customers, and the shells of buildings have been left to rot along the street. To the northwest, the grandiose beauty of the Great Tower seems to overshadow and demoralize what little dignity the residents here hope to cling to. You also see an abandoned warehouse.
You go southeast, leading your group.
[Shard, Crystal Lane]
The bleak outline of shattered homes can be discerned to the northwest. While the buildings seem more intact here, there is a visible shift in integrity and a noticeable increase in decay as the streets draw closer to the northwest horizon. In comparison, the buildings to the southeast are far more sturdy, maintained with fresh whitewash and bolstered by new construction.
Timorias says, "Its ok Bacon. The mean old lady won't eat you."
Leayne grins at Crobin, her dimples flashing into view.
You laugh softly, trying to hide your amusement.
You go northwest, leading your group.
Xionara softly says to Tirost, "I.. know... only thing holding back...."
Timorias grins.
You go southwest, leading your group.
[Shard, Coral Crescent]
Junegrass and indigo imported from the prairie add a touch of wilderness to the carefully cultivated urban milieu, the ornamental plants rising from the depths of sculpted clay pots and sun-bleached wooden troughs. Secured amongst the paving stones in the middle of the street, a thick bronze plaque boasts elaborate calligraphy and imagery. An ironwork bench rests under a tall linden tree for travelers needing respite from their travels about the city. You also see a green marble manor, a spacious marble manor with a sign that reads "Blacksmith", a spacious marble manor and a spacious marble manor with a huge oak tree placed by its entrance.
Ezerak appears to be trying hard not to grin.
Xanarra chuckles.
Xionara fidgets nervously.
You go south, leading your group.
[Shard, Coral Crescent]
Recycled from the slate shingles belonging to the neighborhood's former houses, a modest fountain beautifies this bend of the street. Agreeable, soothing burbles tumble from the cascade and drift along the cobbles, mingling with the freshly planted saplings and recently trimmed grass. Local birds and the occasional squirrel venture to the fountain's edge to sip from the cool water or bathe in its shallow depths. You also see an elegant black marble hall, a spacious marble manor, a stately ebony-gabled residence with tiny violets blooming in the yard and an ivy-covered white marble manor.
Tirost grins at Xionara.
You go south, leading your group.
[Shard, Coral Crescent]
Vivid yellow and orange blossoms bob amidst the profusion of butterfly vines twining through a whitewashed lattice arching over one home's walkway. In contrast, a riotous tangle of pink and purple morning glories overflows from a copperwood window box across the way. The street cobbles remain a plain bleached white to draw attention up from the ground to the other handmade planters and terra-cotta pots brimming with flourishing flowers around the neighborhood. You also see an ivy-covered granite brick hall, a silver-veined blue marble residence with a blooming apple blossom tree in the yard, an ivy-covered black marble manor and a small birch-trimmed house.
Timorias stuffs a curly tailed black piglet into a rugged white backpack.
Xionara softly exclaims, "He said OLD!"
Zalan just left.
The south side of the city has what would be a normal quantity of activity for Asketi's Hunt -- which is to say that the only locals who appear to be visible to your patrol are very likely both up to no good, and yet not daring to interfere with a substantial armed militia patrol.
Timorias hums to himself.
Xionara gawks at Timorias.
Timorias grins at Xionara.
The faint rustle can be heard as a curly tailed black piglet makes its abrupt appearance from inside a rugged white backpack.
Kethrai closes his eyes for a moment and grows still.
Elurora blinks.
Drunvalo ponders.
Ezerak says, "Everything seems to be normal for this time of night."
Miskton casually observes the area.
Timorias closes his eyes for a moment and grows still.
You nod at Ezerak, in complete agreement with his views.
Ezerak casually observes the area.
Anuril nods at Ezerak, obviously agreeing with his views.
The last few clouds drift away to reveal a sky full of twinkling stars.
Betlind nods emphatically.
Zalan just arrived.
Mendira quietly says, "Indeed."
Crobin says, "Aww."
Timorias says, "Don't sense anything nearby."
Xionara softly says, "At least in this section."
Jaelia exclaims, "Those Idon Faux Idolitors again who do not properly worship him!"
Zalan joins your group.
Crobin says, "That is a good way to summon something."
Kethrai says, "Very... unloud."
Jaelia shakes her fist!
Crobin says, "Say something llike."
Elurora nods at Kethrai, obviously agreeing with his views.
Briaen smirks.
Crobin says, "Seems quiet."
Someone Said the "Q" Word
You nod at Kethrai, in complete agreement with his views.
Kethrai holds a single finger up to his closed lips and gives his head a slight shake while leveling a firm stare at Crobin.
Crobin chuckles.
Ezerak says to Crobin, "You said the Q word."
Anuril smirks at Crobin.
Xanarra perks up her ears, glancing around alertly.
Ezerak sighs.
Jaelia says, "Very Unloud - but they were about during the targeted attack."
Kethrai looks Crobin in the eyes challengingly and lashes his tail in agitation!
Crobin says, "I did."
You say, "But we should still keep our eyes open, in case trouble lurks in other areas of the city."
You go southeast, leading your group.
[Shard, Coral Crescent]
Birds flit between the saplings planted on either side of the cobblestone street. Freshly mulched, the young trees display a variety of glossy ribbons tied to their branches for luck, prosperity and other benevolent wishes in acknowledgement of the neighborhood's new beginnings. The houses' shutters flaunt similar pastel hues, parading a rainbow of carnival colors down the street. You also see a gold-veined blue marble hall with some budding lilac bushes near the door, an elegant gold onyx residence with an Elven ivy trellis along the path to the door, a spacious marble manor with a blooming apple blossom tree in the yard and a spacious marble manor.
Xionara nods at you, obviously agreeing with your views.
You go southeast, leading your group.
[Shard, Coral Crescent]
Tidy lilac bushes grow beside the road, their deep purple flowers releasing a heady fragrance which fills the air and lifts the spirits. The shrubs are meticulously well-maintained to match the clean facades and lawns of the nearby homes. Sounds of the city echo across the clean cobblestone street as subtle reminders of the daily bustle of Shard's residents. You also see an elegant black marble residence with tropical shonji plants growing in brightly colored clusters along the path to the front door, a grey ebony-gabled hall, an elegant black marble manor with a wispy e'erdream pozumshi tree growing in a faience decorated pot near the front door and a dark quartz block manor.
Darkewolff says to Crobin, "Thanks, bud. Now we are cursed."
You go east, leading your group.
[Shard, Coral Crescent]
Neatly manicured lawns of lush green grass border the clean cobblestones of this bright side street. The nearby homes exhibit signs of recent restoration, several displaying fresh whitewashing and colorfully painted shutters. No trace of the dilapidation from years past is evident now that the neighborhood's revival has reached fruition. You also see a stately red brick manor, a gleaming green jade manor, a spacious marble manor with a window box brimming with flowers sculpted from pieces of white coral and a spacious marble manor with clinging ivy vines along the eaves.
Miskton says, "Andeven if nobody is bothering us, word on our movements can easily spread to someone who might."
Shadow Reiku just arrived.
Jaelia asks you, "Are we killing the singing then with those who might be watching, or do we want to pretend we are stronger in spirit?"
You nod at Miskton, in complete agreement with his views.
Reiku fades into view.
Kethrai closes his eyes for a moment and grows still.
Reiku joins your group.
(Crobin makes a bird call noise)
Crobin says, "To quiet."
Crobin chuckles.
You go east, leading your group.
[Shard, Crystal Lane]
The quiet rush of water under the Bridge of Silver creates sedate music for the sober and silent street. The darkness to the northwest -- where Crystal Lane dissolves into shadow -- seems deeper than it should be, a feeling perhaps augmented by the slumped buildings that line the street. The fragrant scent of jes-roses floats up from the banks of the water channel where they have been planted in lush rows. You also see a tall brick building with many windows.
Kethrai shoves futilely at Crobin.
Mountain Lord Ezerak just arrived.
Betlind chortles softly at some secret joke.
Ezerak takes his rightful place beside you.
[Assuming you mean the Bridge of Silver.]
You also see a grassy path leading around to one side of the tower.
Obvious paths: northeast, southwest.
Ezerak, Zalan, Kethrai, Raikage, Seydin, Xanarra, Leayne, Xionara, Crobin, Lileath, Darkewolff, Belzor, Jaelia, Betlind, Anuril, Miskton, Drunvalo, Mendira, Echyaes, Zren, Briaen, Malorna, Huebald, Timorias, Elurora, Kintryn and Tirost followed.
Darkewolff glances at Crobin.
Miskton says to Crobin, "Hopefully stays that way. Lots of people trying to sleep."
Tirost grins at Kethrai.
Anuril asks Crobin, "A few andaen from retirement, are you?"
Malorna chuckles.
Jaelia intones:
"In a world where darkness tries to take its toll, We stand united, a beacon for the soul. It's time to rise, to lend a helping hand, To those in need, let's take a courageous stand."
Jaelia looks up and sighs, smiling.
Crobin says, "Sleeping."
Timorias asks, "Sleep? What is this creature you speak of?"
Betlind flashes a wide grin at Anuril.
Crobin says, "SO boring."
Tirost chuckles at Anuril.
Jaelia intones:
"For we are the ones who have a voice, But as individuals and community must make a choice No fear can hold us back, we'll overcome, United we stand, our strength won't come undone."
Crobin says, "We should wake them up."
Seydin says to Crobin, "I think you're supposed to say 'Ca Caw.'."
Crobin asks, "Fireballs in the sky?"
Timorias nods in agreement.
Zalan says, "One moment."
Jaelia intones:
"Now it's time for us to step up and lead, To protect the vulnerable, fulfill their needs. We're stronger together, in unity we'll find, The power to lift each other and leave no one behind."
Kethrai closes his eyes for a moment and grows still.
Timorias says, "Banging on pots and pans, Xio SInging."
Crobin says, "Naw...Ca Caw is so over used."
Timorias hums to himself.
Tirost says to Crobin, "One of my favorite spells."
You nod to Zalan.
Crobin winks at Raikage.
Jaelia intones:
"In times of trouble, we've seen it all before, Communities rising, opening every door. Let's follow their footsteps, their legacy we bear, Through acts of kindness, compassion, and care."
Reiku glances at Crobin.
Raikage chuckles at Crobin.
Xionara just tickled Timorias, making him laugh.
The crisp night air carries the wafting and slightly sweet stench of rotting, infected meat to the east of the city. A chill runs up your spine, as if your body itself is telling you that something is off on this fall evening. If you had any inclination to be superstitious, you might think something bad may have been summoned by Crobin's comment that this is a quiet night.
Patrol of the City - East - Investigating the Smell
Malorna asks, "Tweet tweet?"
Timorias grins at Xionara.
Crobin nods to Tirost.
Malorna exclaims, "Oh!"
Kethrai gazes off to the east.
Jaelia intones:
"Though fear may whisper, we won't be dismayed, Courage will guide us, we won't be swayed. For we have the strength to face any test, Together we'll triumph, our hearts and faith are blessed."
Anuril blinks.
Elurora gazes off to the east.
Betlind blinks.
Kethrai sniffs the air around him.
Mendira glances at Crobin.
Xionara sniffs the air around her.
Kethrai wrinkles his nose.
Xionara softly says, "Oh."
Anuril begins to advance on Crobin.
Tirost nods to Kintryn.
You glance at Crobin, a male Prydaen.
Crobin beams!
Elurora glances at Crobin.
Betlind blanches.
Xionara softly says, "Oh. ew."
Anuril stops advancing on Crobin.
Jaelia intones:
"Now it's time for us to step up and lead, To protect the vulnerable, fulfill their needs. We're stronger together, in unity we'll find, The power to lift each other and leave no one behind."
Miskton says, "If Cierzen has to deal with even more paperwork on his desk in the form of noise complaints, he's probably not going to be... happy..."
Zalan nods to you.
Xionara sniffs the air around her.
You say, "Something feels... off..."
Anuril smirks.
Elurora draws forth a loimic war scythe with starry white blossoms strewn across its crescentic blade.
Miskton shivers.
Timorias sings in a tenor voice:
"All the little birds on Jaybird street...."
Xionara softly asks, "Is that.. rotting?"
Malorna says, "Crobin! what did you do."
Elurora says, "I smell something to the east."
Xionara sniffs the air around her.
Drunvalo shoves futilely at Crobin.
Xionara gawks at Malorna.
Jaelia intones:
"In our hands lies the power to heal, To mend the broken, their wounds conceal. Let's cast aside our doubts and hesitation, Embrace the call to be the change in this generation."
Crobin says, "I started the fun."
Darkewolff nods at you, obviously agreeing with your views.
Raikage puts his phoenix in his encompassing shadows.
(Jaelia grips her nightingale pin tightly and continues her spirited chanting.)
Veteran Apprentice Anuril goes west.
Darkewolff bops Crobin over the head.
Xionara softly asks Crobin, "Did you... eat something... smelly?"
Veteran Apprentice Anuril just arrived.
Anuril joins your group.
Xionara peers quizzically at Crobin.
Drunvalo says, "Smells deadmeat too."
Jaelia intones:
"Now it's time for us to step up and lead, To protect the vulnerable, fulfill their needs. We're stronger together, in unity we'll find, The power to lift each other and leave no one behind."
Xionara sniffs the air around her.
Huebald frowns.
Veteran Apprentice Anuril goes west.
Crobin says, "I don't think so."
Crobin says, "I haven't ate yet."
Veteran Apprentice Anuril just arrived.
Anuril joins your group.
Miskton says, "East of the city..."
Timorias says, "No Crobin you can't have a Biscuit right now."
Belzor says to you, "Something is certainly off, Lieutenant."
Xanarra gets a telothian serrated parazonium from inside her thigh bag.
Jaelia intones:
"So let us remember those who've paved the way, Their courage and love still guide us today. Together we'll rise, our spirits intertwine, For when we stand united, we're an unbreakable line."
You notice as a russet lynx scratches itself.
Miskton gazes off to the east.
Betlind casually observes the area.
Crobin nods to Timorias.
Betlind frowns.
Mendira smiles at Jaelia.
Crobin gets a telothian serrated parazonium from inside his multi-strapped carryall.
Xionara softly says, "Rotting, ugh..."
You hear someone grumble.
Huebald asks, "Suppose we oughta follow the breeze, eh?"
Xionara softly asks, "It's not garbage night?"
Crobin nods.
Tirost nods to Huebald.
Anuril nods to Huebald.
Xionara sniffs the air around her.
Miskton says, "There's nothing that should smell like that out there."
You say, "Let us head toward the east."
Crobin says, "I say follow the breeze."
Xionara rubs her nose.
Xionara scowls.
Kethrai says, "May be more of those... snowbeast, things."
Belzor draws forth a blackened steel scimitar with an embossed leather hilt.
Leayne sniffs the air around her.
You quietly say, "This is why we never use the "q" word..."
Seydin gets a steel bastard sword from inside his reed pannier.
Betlind says, "Smelled like I was by the moat in Theren for a moment there."
Malorna says, "I can tell you.. its NOT bacon."
Betlind casually observes the area.
Elurora nods to you.
Seydin fiercely switches his grip so that his sword can be used as a heavy edged weapon.
Miskton says, "To the east..."
Miskton ponders.
Tirost asks you, "Let me know before we move?"
Elurora chuckles at Betlind.
Timorias says, "Bacon is in my backpack."
You go east, leading your group.
Timorias says, "He's safe....for now."
Malorna chuckles.
Crobin says, "Wow."
You say, "Everyone, be on guard."
Crobin says, "The q word really does work."
Darkewolff nods.
Miskton says to you, "We... might want to check on the area of the prarie dog town, if we don't find anything closer."
Crobin says, "I love it."
You nod at Miskton, in complete agreement with his views.
Lileath glances at you.
Xionara sniffs the air around her.
Heart Tender Kethrai just arrived.
Kethrai joins your group.
Xionara scowls.
With a sudden cross-body move, Ezerak draws his glaes pasabas and throwing axe from his belt.
Timorias closes his eyes for a moment and grows still.
Seydin waves to Kethrai.
You go northeast, leading your group.
You also see a grassy path leading around to one side of the tower.
Xionara softly says, "YUCK."
Elurora sniffs the air around her.
Xionara softly asks, "Is it me, or is getting worse?"
You go northeast, leading your group.
Panacea Timorias just arrived.
Timorias joins your group.
Darkewolff asks Xionara, "Your singing?"
Anuril moves over to guard Kethrai.
Kethrai says, "I think it's coming from outside the city, to the east."
Xionara pokes Darkewolff in the ribs.
Darkewolff begins chortling at Xionara.
Zalan says to Xionara, "Its just you."
Xionara just tickled Darkewolff, who laughs and returns the favor.
Malorna says, "Oh goody."
Darkewolff says, "Just askin'."
Tirost asks Kethrai, "Can you sense anything out that way?"
Xionara softly says, "Oh sheeeeeeeeeeesh."
Betlind says, "Well, wouldn't be a proper patrol if we didn't follow up."
You ask, "Does anyone need a moment to refresh your defenses before we push onward?"
Xionara splutters.
Kethrai closes his eyes for a moment and grows still.
Huebald nods to you.
Huebald assumes a calm stance, concentrating on something.
You say, "Just in case..."
Kethrai says, "No."
Kethrai says, "But I can't sense past the gate."
Raikage says, "I heard a report from the east gate."
Raikage taps a crystalline kyanite gwethdesuan that he is wearing.
Knight of Meraud Tirost drifts northeast.
Ezerak scans the area briefly.
(Jaelia opens her arms towards the sky. She lifts them straight above her head, then spands them out as if trying to embrace the sky itself. "Protect us in the Darkness. Bring Light to our Path. Let the Path we Trod bring us Insight and Knowledge, Let us be Strengthened in Protection and Fight.")
Leayne closes her eyes for a moment and grows still.
Betlind says, "I say we push forward, as we don't want to lose sigh--er, scent of it."
Knight of Meraud Tirost just arrived.
Tirost joins your group.
Raikage says, "East gate is jumping off."
Elurora nods at Betlind, obviously agreeing with her views.
Tirost moves over to guard Kintryn.
You nod.
(Crobin stretches his arms up over his head then down to the ground grunting softly)
Zalan says, "East gate."
You say, "We will move."
Zalan says, "Lets doooo it."
Mendira nods to you.
Huebald nods to you.
You go northeast, leading your group.
Darkewolff says to you, "I will head that way and scout."
Field Medic Darkewolff walks north.
You go north, leading your group.
Kethrai says, "Convenient for triage to be in the triage building there."
Taking a sip from a bottle of water, Sentinel Neharon gives the area a cursory glance.
(Jaelia gazes out into a far away place as her eyes bcome slightly glazed and falls into almost a trance and begins to bless the areas upon which the Patrol walks.)
Betlind nods to Kethrai.
Zalan draws forth a goldwood Nisha shortbow.
Jaelia sprinkles the area with holy water from her chalice.
Malorna grins.
Ezerak scans the area briefly.
Grey Empath Akeiro just arrived.
You take note of all the tracks in the area, so that you can hunt anything nearby down.
To the west, west:
1) Malciss
To the north, northwest, northwest:
2) a Shard sentinel
3) a Shard sentinel
4) a Human juggler
To the west, west, west:
5) a Shard sentinel
Miskton doubtfully says, "I suppose the kobolds could be up to something..."
Malorna chuckles.
Crobin waves to Akeiro.
A bone-chilling howl pierces the still of the night. Your pulse quickens with an instinctual dread. Figures appear from the treeline through the gate, hunched and macabre, their predatory eyes fixated on you. A pack of flayed snowbeasts emerge from their concealment, their fur remaining only in slight patches across a grotesque mosaic of exposed muscle and sinew. The grotesque forms shamble towards you in a twisted mockery of life. As they advance toward you, you realize that your patrol has become the hunted.
Ezerak says, "Outside the gate, must be."
Xionara sniffs the air around her.
A pained expression crosses Mendira's face.
Tirost frowns.
Anuril makes a grunting noise.
Miskton says, "Ah."
Grey Empath Akeiro drifts north.
[Personal] Your mind hears Darkewolff thinking, "<to you>" "flayed snowbeasts!"
Betlind says, "Oh no..."
Xionara softly exclaims, "We are under attack!"
Elurora furrows her brow.
