A fabric that comes from the bark of local fig trees, made by beating sodden strips of the fibrous inner bark into sheets, when are then finished into a variety of items. The fabric is a soft, thick, slightly textured fabric, so named because of its rough surface. Most commonly used in home decor such as curtains, drapery, upholstery, wall coverings. Can be woven with cotton to make the fabric softer, more flowing for things such as clothing.
