 A long cloth battle gambeson is a craftable item in the Outfitting society under the Tailoring crafting discipline.  This is considered to be an intricate piece to make, though knowledge of the Complete Cloth Armor Design technique will be beneficial to the crafter.

 This item is listed as a "finished cloth armor" ingredient type and is created using a yardstick, scissors, a needle and thinner thread.  A crafter may also find it helpful to have straight pins and a slickstone or flat iron on hand.

A list of ingredients is provided:

  (1) finished fabric cloth (58 yards)
  (1) finished large cloth padding

This is an extremely complicated piece to design and will use more cloth than would be ordinarily required for armor of this weight.
