Sometimes. For example, stone weapons are generally a little poorer than their metal equivalents. Bone weapons are equal to their metal equivalents, except you lose out a bit due to the inability to weight it like you want. ie. Adding 1 stone might make its slice rollover to the next appraise level.

I may go back and allow you to weight/lighten your bone weapons to compensate for this. In terms of enchantability we're looking at wood = stone > bone > metal...
