No. Generic invisibility (what you'd get from items) does not provide a boost, that is the providence of guild-based invisibility (spells and khri).

There is no intended difference in the detection contests between Hidden and Invisible except for the invisibility bonus (or, in simple terms, Invisible > Hidden). This may not be working correctly, or player tests may be hampered by the usual problems of incredibly low sample sizes. I do not know off hand, which is why I explicitly said that was not part of the argument I had any issues with.
