[Eyes of the Thirteen, Chadatru's Shrine]
Walls of jade edged in mahogany line the shrine, creating the feel of a clouded atmosphere. Finely carved from mahogany and possessing startling lifelikeness, lions peer out beyond their posts with an eyeless gaze. Translucent jade forms a platform that extends outward, towards a muted dome, while an archway leads back toward the hallway. You also see a pink-eared white piglet with a bright yellow shirt stitched with a chaotic rainbow of daisies on it, a modest granite altar and a sooty basalt altar embedded with a shield broken in two.

Avrenka says, "Due to unfortunate miscommunications and scheduling errors, our vigils are being held simultaneously."
Miraena hitches up the waistband of her workman's pants.
Avrenka says, "But we agreed that our vigils would likely not clash with each other -- after all, the more we seek, the more answers we may have, nay? To each our own."
Avrenka says, "They are at an altar to the Triquetra, seeking answers from their Prydaen gods, and I encourage whoever wants to attend that meeting to do so."
Avrenka says, "If you have trouble finding their location, feel free to reach out to Istercal and Jundara for directions."
Avrenka says, "Okay."
Gragnel gives a slight nod.
Avrenka takes a deep breath.
Unaka nods to Avrenka.
Avrenka says, "I originally called for this vigil as a time of thanks and celebration to the Immortals -- and to Rutilor, speaking for myself."
Avrenka says, "I still do want to give offerings as thanks to him, and to acknowledge the Immortals epic liberation of the Clans."
Avrenka says, "But given recent events ..."
(Avrenka gestures to the sky broadly)
Elurora gazes upward.
Avrenka says, "... I thought it might be wise to also ask the Immortals for wisdom and guidance on what to do next."
Aerilia frowns slightly.
Avrenka says, "But before we get to all of that, I have an ardent request for all of you here, right now."
Avrenka says, "I ask that you all refrain from any hostile or aggressive words or actions, in honor of both Rutilor and his esteemed cleric, Mother Jaelia."
Mistanna tilts her head, clearly curious about something.
Gragnel nods.
Leayne nods.
Avrenka says, "Rutilor is the defender of the weak, and Jaelia tirelessly espoused the virtues of community and unity. Let us not profane this sanctuary by acting in contrary to that spirit."
Ezathiel nods in agreement.
Unaka nods to Avrenka.

Mistanna nods to Avrenka.
Avrenka says, "All are welcome here."
Elurora nods to Avrenka.

Avrenka says, "Okay. Before we make our offerings, I have asked Gragnel to speak a few words."

Gragnel gets a pitted iron comb from inside his suede belt.

Miraena gives a slight nod.

Ezathiel gazes at Gragnel.
Gragnel loudly says, "Greetings, fellow worshipers, I am Rev...."
Elurora puts her lemonade in her square lunchbox.
Kerennya nods to Avrenka.
Gragnel blinks.
Gragnel chuckles.
Elurora cocks her head at Gragnel.
Gragnel wryly says, "Well, it seems some of you don't need the introduction. I remember you well and it's a pleasure to see you here."
Gragnel nods in agreement.
Ezathiel smiles.
Avrenka smiles.
Miraena nods to Gragnel.
Crobin nods to Gragnel.
Gragnel loudly says, "For others who may not be familiar with me, I am Reverend Gragnel Durbin and I am a disciple of our Lord Damaris."
Elurora quietly says, "Oh, I thought maybe you'd forgotten who you were for a second..."
Gragnel lightly touches his panther pin as he says a quick prayer.
Gragnel snickers.
Avrenka flashes a quick grin at Elurora.
Gragnel says, "Now, Lord Damaris is who grants my favor and who I seek to appease the most with my efforts and endevors; but I hold great reverence for all of the thirty-nine Immortals."
Ezathiel chuckles at Elurora.
Gragnel nods emphatically.
Gragnel loudly says, "So, bearing that in mind, I have asked the Mage Avrenka if I might be permitted to say a few words about our Lord Rutilor at this gathering."
Gragnel matter-of-factly says, "He said, "Yes." So now you'll all have to deal with me. At least, for a moment or three."
Avrenka chuckles.
Gragnel smirks.
Maintain chuckles.
Kerennya chuckles.
Mistanna chuckles.
Gragnel says, "I ask for those gathered to allow for some quiet so that I might get these words out. I thank you in advance."
Gragnel clears his throat.
Vaerek grins.
Vaerek nods to Mistanna.

"Lord Rutilor, the stalwart defender of the downtrodden and even-handed judge in all matters.
We gather on this day to bring praise unto you and your name and celebrate you in our offerings."
Elurora places a hand on her chest and bows her head.
Mistanna flashes a quick grin at Vaerek.
Gragnel recites:
"You, who in your purity can utter no lie or falsehood, making your every word honest and truthful.
You, who in your wisdom has given strength to those honorable knights who take up your cause and fight in your name."
Ezathiel bows his head in acknowledgement.

Let these vile serpents who steal our very skies and stars feel your sharp bite and tearing claws."

"For, in this moment, we are the ones who face the great odds that unfairly stack against us.
We are the humble and innocent who stare up at vile and corrupt behemoths yet still we greet them with challenge."
Avrenka mumbles a word of general praise.
Gragnel recites:
"Lord Rutilor, see the many offerings of blades, your favored weapon and tool that have been made in your name.
May you recieve them well and find it of worth and value in your divine sight."

Unaka quietly says, "Praise Rutilor."
Leayne bows her head in acknowledgement.
Miraena gives a slight nod.
Miraena gazes upward.
Avrenka nods in agreement.

Maintain touches a hand to his mouth and offers a prayer for Gragnel's continued safety and good fortune.

Maintain draws his fist to his heart, and mutters a stern prayer.

Avrenka says to Gragnel, "Thank you, Reverend."
Mistanna says to Gragnel, "Thank you, Father."

Avrenka says, "If any wish to make an offering, please whisper me."
Vaerek nods to Gragnel.
Gragnel gets some holy oil from inside his simple cassock.
Avrenka says, "As a reminder, Rutilor accepts any offering of medium edge or larger, and anything resembling a mongoose. To make an offering, PUT [item] ON ALTAR, then OFFER [item] ON ALTAR."
Gragnel reverently places some holy oil atop the granite altar.
Gragnel offers his oil to the gods in homage of their greatness.
Miraena glances at a modest granite altar.
Avrenka says, "I had a full chain of mongoose beads and backpack of weapons, but unfortunately ... the location I was storing them are temporarily unavailable to me."
Unaka says to Avrenka, "I'll make an offering, if you don't mind giving me something."
Avrenka gets a steel foil from inside his black backpack.
Avrenka offers Unaka a steel foil.
Unaka accepts Avrenka's foil.
Unaka says, "Thanks."
Avrenka nods.
Avrenka says to Unaka, "Please go ahead."
Unaka gives a slight nod.
Leayne gets a pale silver prayer bead chain from inside a swirling eddy of incandescent light bound by a gold-striated coralite frame.
Leayne sighs.
Leayne nods to Crobin.
Unaka approaches the altar, reaching down lightly to touch the embedded sword. She breathes out slowly.
Miraena whispers something to Avrenka.
Elurora cocks her head.
Avrenka nods to Miraena.
Avrenka gets a steel pasabas from inside his black backpack.
Unaka says, "Rutilor, after Truffenyi, you're my kinda god. You step up to defend anyone who deserves it, and as a Paladin I constantly strive to do the same. I look to judge with kindness and understanding in your name, to seek out injustice but to meet it with mercy and forgiveness when I can."
Avrenka offers Miraena a steel pasabas.
Miraena looks at Avrenka and blushes.
Miraena accepts Avrenka's pasabas.
Unaka shifts her weight.
Unaka says, "Sometimes, I'm afraid, there can be no mercy. I pray that I will give it when I can, and when I cannot, that you grant me the wisdom to know the right way to serve justice."
Leayne begins to pray.
Elurora gives a slight nod.
Unaka says, "I pray also that you give me strength in the fight ahead. There's still a whole lot of defending to do, from those crazy beings in the sky. I don't know how much strength I'll need, but I fear it'll be a lot. Please bless me, and my maul, Bal Katalni, the Certain Protector. Thank you."

Crobin kisses Leayne. And he doesn't seem to want to stop.
Miraena quietly says to Avrenka, "I am ready."

Miraena steps up to the altar, holding a steel pasabas awkardly in one hand.
Miraena quietly says, "I have spent many days now reflecting on why I originally came to Crossing."
Kerennya tilts her head, clearly curious about something.
Miraena quietly says, "I came because my village was in need."
Elurora gazes at Miraena.
Miraena quietly says, "I was... led to believe that I knew how to fix things."
Ezathiel furrows his brow.
Unaka fixes Miraena with a heavy, ponderous stare.
Miraena quietly says, "It's clear to me now that the Heralds led me astray, even though I don't know why."
Elurora furrows her brow.
Vaerek sighs.
Ezathiel pats Miraena on the back.
Kerennya gazes thoughtfully at Miraena.
Miraena quietly asks, "And... I just could not understand why the Immortals would let me be deceived like that. Why would they not make it clear to me that I was harming and not helping?"

Vaerek gets a blue iris from inside his treasureweave cylinder.
Your vision blurs, and when you blink, you see an encampment of mainly Humans and Gor'Togs, looking grateful as they pack up their things. A mongoose darts among them, carrying a writhing vine in its jaws. The commonfolk pay it no mind, but as it passes by some of the armored guards on the outskirts, they stand up straighter, their eyes determined, their demeanor shifting toward strength and pride. The mongoose snaps its head back and forth wildly, tearing the vine to shreds. A gentle golden haze overtakes your sight, and when you blink, the vision has cleared.
Miraena gazes off into the distance.
Elurora chews on her lip, looking deep in concentration.
Leayne blinks.
A sleek mongoose darts across your field of vision, suddenly stopping to sit up straight on its back legs, an air of nobility around it. It lowers back onto its forelegs and slowly approaches the crowd, weaving through members, until it comes to rest in front of Miraena. Suddenly, it shoots off again, rushing behind her and disappearing.
A tear runs down Ezathiel's face.
Avrenka blinks.
Aerhys furrows his brow.
Aerilia tilts her head to one side.
Gragnel smiles.
Leayne ponders.
Unaka glances at Miraena.
The spry mongoose returns, and Miraena kneels down before it, one hand outstretched. The small creature sits again and regards her, then slowly approaches and nuzzles her hand, suddenly dashing up one arm to come to rest on her shoulder. She stands and finds herself laughing at the surprise, but before she can react further, it vanishes in a haze of golden light, disappearing.
Crobin says, "Quick little thing."
Avrenka smiles quietly.
Miraena beams!
Gragnel beams!
Elurora smiles at Miraena.
Kerennya pats Miraena on the back.
Unaka flashes a wide grin at Miraena.
Vaerek grins at Miraena.
Mistanna exclaims, "Aw!"

Miraena inhales a great swallow of air.

Unaka pats Miraena on the back.
Chelinde says to Vaerek, "No no a mongoose, I don't have one."
Unaka warmly says to Miraena, "Welcome back."
Ezathiel stands up.
Miraena steps back away from the altar, her body more relaxed than it had been a moment before.
Miraena smiles at Unaka.
Vaerek says to Chelinde, "I don't have one either."
Miraena says to Unaka, "I am sorry that we were at odds."
Chelinde gazes sadly at Vaerek.
Gragnel says to Miraena, "Your words today have been heard, you are welcome in the golden light of the Divine."
Vaerek moves a blue iris to his right hand.
Gragnel smiles.
Unaka says to Miraena, "You ever need a protector in the days to come, you know you can come to me."
Ezathiel nods at Gragnel, obviously agreeing with his views.
Miraena curtsies to Unaka.

(Avrenka looks as if to say more, but swallows his words. He stands before the altar awkwardly for a few moments before abruptly turning away.)
