Rhhukh dusts herself off.

Ferkeutini pulls down the hood of his shroud.

(Nefis walks around the room, look at each of the attendees, seeming to try and get a feel of the room. He stops at the slabs, touching each of the six momentarily, and casually walks by the alchemical symbols on the flooruntil he comes to the obelisk.)

You draw a slight cut across your palm in ritualized fashion, drawing forth a small but useful amount of blood without any real injury. Roundtime: 3 sec.

You reach out and touch a tall marble obelisk.

Gallifreius breathes almost without making a sound.

Nefis calls out to the Manifold, trying to show them how many are interested in the worship of the Profane.

Rhhukh kneels down.

Rhhukh gazes down at the floor.

You say, "To begin, I'd like to define what I mean by Profane Ritual. This goes beyond the rituals taught by our various mentors. The sole purpose of these rituals is to contact, exalt, offer, and worship...yes Worship, the Demonic entities that give us power."

Ferkeutini frowns.

Gallifreius blinks.

You look around, trying to appear nonchalant.

You say, "This is not for the weak of heart."

Rhhukh quietly says, "They crave it. They *yearn* for it."

You say, "But if it works, which I believe some of you know of my successes, then there should be no qualms about following the same methodology."

Gallifreius gives Rhhukh a slight nod.

Rhhukh observes you with fascination.

You say, "This will not be a full disclosure of all that is encompassed in a ritual. This is just the first lecture. This morning I will only speak about basic elements of the ritual and the tools I have used with success."

You say, "This information is intended as a supplement to the book entitled "The Demons and the Profane" that has been provided by Lord Jeihrem. If you wish to learn more about the various entities, I suggest you begin your learning there."

You nod.

You say, "Now...an Introduction to Profane Ritual."

Gallifreius adjusts his tinted spectacles into place.

You sit down near a tall marble obelisk.

Rhhukh examines a tall marble obelisk.

You say, "Please relax, depending on questions, this may be a while."

You smile.

Rhhukh gives a slight nod.

Gallifreius slowly empties his lungs.

Gallifreius takes a seat.

Ferkeutini takes a seat.

Rhhukh stands up.

Rhhukh sits down on the onyx slab.

Gallifreius nods politely to you.

You gaze at Rhhukh.

You say, "Basic ritual invovles minor sacrifices that one might associate with any Greater Being. The Profane can oftentimes seem very similar to various member of the Divine. Offerings of blood and smoke and incense are the most easily accessible things one can use in these cases. This is not much different that the cutting ritual almost every single one of us use on a daily basis."

Mortifer nods to you.

You say, "I have often used many of these elements within my rituals. Many have met with nominal success."

You say, "Other useful themes can be those associated with darkness, pain, and suffering. All this depends on the particular Demon one wishes to petition."

You think to yourself, "and Soul...Soul most important of all. Your entire being. To Them."

You say, "Directly, this brings us to the use of the ritual knife. Our most important tool. Without it, we lack a focus for the rituals. Knives of any sort can be used, though I would stay away from those composed completely of iron."

You lean against a tall marble obelisk.

Rhhukh peers quizzically at you.

Gallifreius raises an eyebrow.

You think to yourself, "and This...a blade in itself...but much too advanced for these ones."

Gallifreius quickly asks, "Blood?"

You raise an eyebrow in Gallifreius's direction.

You ask, "What about blood?"

Gallifreius quietly says, "Iron."

You smile.

Gallifreius blushes a bright red color.

Gallifreius rubs his neck.

Ferkeutini snickers.

You say, "I have not had any success with an iron knife..."

You shrug.

Gallifreius nods politely.

Rhhukh quietly says, "Intriguing. I had not considered that They not be irritated by the metal."

Rhhukh ponders.

You shrug.

You say, "However, knives particularly resonant with a certain Demon can lend power to rituals in exaltation of that Demon. Any way possible, I suggest the acquisition and use of knives of that nature."

You say, "It may be difficult to come across materials that are noticeably resonant with the Profane...but the items are out there."

Rhhukh ponders.

Mortifer asks, "In what way do knives resonate with demons?"

Mortifer asks, "Do we know the connection between them?"

You smile at Mortifer.

Mortifer asks, "Or is it more of a ritual connection?"

You say, "As far as I can tell, it is the ritual connection. Every teacher uses one and comments on the ritual use of the knife."

You say, "That is with the exception of Lord Jeihrem."

You say, "Though, his link to the Profane can be expected to be much mre acute than the others."

Rhhukh asks, "The Woman who bore their gifts -- the one that I missed by mere moments at the Cathedral -- did she wield a knife?"

You shake your head.

Mortifer takes off a snake charm.

Mortifer puts his charm in his harvest sack.

You say, "I do not think any of us are on the same level as they, unfortunately."

Gallifreius subtly reels as a pained expression crosses his face.

You say, "Their link is much more...direct."

Gallifreius smiles.

Mortifer says, "I didn't see her wielding one."

Mortifer says, "But I might have missed it."

Rhhukh gives a slight nod.

Rhhukh quietly says, "I hope that some day I may have such a Connection, then."

Rhhukh ponders.

You chuckle at Rhhukh.

You say, "A dangerous thing to wish for."

Mortifer nods.

You think to yourself, "though commendable...we are alike"

Mortifer asks, "Did you see her?"

Mortifer glances at Rhhukh.

Rhhukh says, "I did not have the luxury of witnessing her Glory, no."

Rhhukh frowns slightly, her eyes cast downward.

Nefis calls to the Many once more...asking to bring these others to the Profane.

A S'Kra Mur commoner gazes about the area with an intent look, watching the goings on.

Gallifreius carefully asks, "Would this be the one with the er. Teeth?"

You smile at Gallifreius.

Gallifreius casually observes the area.

You nod.

You say, "Among other things."

Gallifreius nods emphatically.

Gallifreius pushes his spectacles up the bridge of his nose.

Mortifer chuckles.

You say, "Other components that have proven important during ritual for me have been charcoal, candles, fire, incense, blood, and even living sacrifices."

You say, "I have often mixed combinations of them to make a ritual more complex, to try and show my exaltation of Them."

You kneel.

You get some black charcoal from inside your multi-strapped carryall.

You say, "Let me make give an example."

You hold some black charcoal high into the air for all to see.

Gallifreius fixes you with a calm, clear stare.

Rhhukh observes you with fascination.

Mortifer glances at you.

(Nefis begins by drawing a three foot circle in front of him.)

You scratch distractedly at your stubble.

The air around Gallifreius shimmers with a weak yellow light that quickly disperses.

(Nefis he continues to draw, lines coming together to show a rope-like structure, tied in a knot in the center of the circle.)

You ask, "I assume some of you may recognize...through my poor artistry, the symbol?"

Ferkeutini says, "No."

Mortifer nods.

Rhhukh quietly says, "The Manifold."

Mortifer says, "The Manifold."

You nod.

Gallifreius blinks.

You say, "Yes, the Manifold."

You say, "A good representation of all the Profane..."

You drop some black charcoal.

You deftly remove the silver knife from your raekhlo.

You say, "And then I usually follow through with the addition of some life energy, symbolic of course."

You run your finger over the serrated hills and valleys of the blade on your knife, grinning with a wicked sneer.

You draw a slight cut across your palm in ritualized fashion, drawing forth a small but useful amount of blood without any real injury. Roundtime: 3 sec.

(Nefis clenches his fist, squeezing oozing blood on the symbol in the center of the circle in offering.)

Mortifer nods to you.

You hang your silver knife from your raekhlo. It rattles against the quartz-inlaid athame hanging from your raekhlo, and you adjust them.

You say, "This of course, is the simplest of offerings."

You get a small red salamander meticulously crafted from red gold from inside your leather belt.

Nefis calls out to the Manifold a third time, making a small sacrifice on observance to them.

You think to yourself, "Bring them into the fold!"

You quickly flick the switch on the back of the salamander, pointing it at some black charcoal as flames shoot out the creature's mouth, making the charcoal quickly catch fire.

You put your salamander in your leather belt.

Mortifer asks, "And is that the only part the knife plays?"

(Nefis leans over the burning muxture of blood and charcoal)

You take in a great breath of air.

You slowly and deliberately empty your filled lungs.

A dull whisper... The smell of burning meat...

You say, "In this instance, yes."

Ferkeutini blinks.

Suddenly, you feel a horrible lurching sensation in your gut, as if something is crawling around your stomach, clawing for escape!

Gallifreius leaps to his feet!

Rhhukh inhales a great swallow of air.

You begin to gag, and suddenly find yourself vomiting long fibrous ropes of sinew and flesh, knotted with bone and burls of glistening fat. You continue to vomit, and the wretched knots keep coming.

Pooling on the ground, the mass of flesh seems to join together with the sickly, bloody pools everyone else is producing. The mass steams, churning together. For a fleeting moment, you find you cannot remember your name, but you remember a time before time, wandering as many, belonging to everything.

The last remnants of writhing slime leave your body, and you find yourself coughing violently.

You cough.

Rhhukh slowly empties her lungs.

Mortifer coughs.

You shudder.

Suddenly, the mass vanishes, and everything seems normal again. You belch, tasting burnt blood and hair, and gasp for air. No trace of the ritual remains.

Rhhukh screams!

Mortifer quivers.

Gallifreius frowns solemnly.

Rhhukh inhales a great swallow of air.

Rhhukh shudders.

You lean against a tall marble obelisk.

The black charcoal goes out and crumbles away.

(Gallifreius wipes his mouth.)

Ferkeutini asks, "So.. it worked?"

You say, "As you can see...the result..."

Mortifer ponders.

You say, "One will not always be successful."

Mortifer says, "Without any ... interruption it seems..."

Rhhukh says, "The Manifold has made Themselves Known."

Rhhukh kneels.

Ferkeutini frowns.

Gallifreius paces back and forth.

The S'Kra Mur commoner says, "My Master is profoundly glad to have sent me in their place. That looked very.. unpleasant for all of you."

You think to yourself, "Thank you, Profane...I will bring them to You"

Rhhukh recites:

   "Ae'slo grkhh heggarangi'hhs hisakna."

Rhhukh gazes down at the floor.

You gaze at Rhhukh.

Ferkeutini snickers at a S'Kra Mur commoner.

Mortifer stares blankly at a S'Kra Mur commoner.

Gallifreius stares blankly at a S'Kra Mur commoner.

Rhhukh draws her knife and makes a thin cut across one of her hands.

(Nefis visibly fortifies himself to continue.)

A S'Kra Mur commoner gazes about the area with an intent look, watching the goings on.

Nefis swallows the bile in his throat, trying to finish his lesson.

Rhhukh frowns slightly at the twinge of pain, reverently bringing her hand to her forehead. There, she smears the lightly-bleeding cut across her forehead, and her closed eyelids.

You say, "So..as you can see...the proper rituals can have...effects."

Gallifreius mutters something into the air about having recently eaten.

You say, "And when They make themselves known...you know you are doing it... "right."

You chuckle.

You ask, "I have more charcoal if any of you would like to practice your drawings?"

Gallifreius glances at Rhhukh.

Ferkeutini says, "Please."

Rhhukh asks, "Have you had success with conjunctions of multiple sigils?"

Rhhukh peers quizzically at you.

You say, "I believe the images and the ritual focuses ourselves to the appropriate ends."

You nod to Rhhukh.

You say, "I have."

You get some black charcoal from inside your multi-strapped carryall.

You offer your black charcoal to Ferkeutini, who has 30 seconds to accept the offer. Type CANCEL to prematurely cancel the offer.

Ferkeutini has accepted your offer and is now holding some black charcoal.

Mortifer says, "I'll take a piece for the future."

Ferkeutini says to you, "Thanks."

Ferkeutini puts his charcoal in his hunting bag.

You say, "This has taken many years of practice...do not be disappointed if you fail."

Ferkeutini nods.

You say, "Perserverence and constant fine tuning is key."

Rhhukh says, "Vaktarr spent quite some time mastering interconnected glyphs."

Nefis calls out to the Manifold, thanking Them for the vision. These ones have a worm of It inside them now...they see

Rhhukh says, "Some say he went mad. Perhaps that was the voice of the Manifold manifesting with him as a Vessel."

Rhhukh ponders.

You get some black charcoal from inside your multi-strapped carryall.

You offer your black charcoal to Mortifer, who has 30 seconds to accept the offer. Type CANCEL to prematurely cancel the offer.

Mortifer has accepted your offer and is now holding some black charcoal.

Mortifer puts his charcoal in his harvest sack.

You ask Rhhukh, "Vaktarr?"

Rhhukh gives a slight nod.

Rhhukh says, "The Albino Painter."

Ferkeutini snickers.

You ask Rhhukh, "Wait, you said conjunctions?"

Rhhukh nods to you.

You say, "I do not mix and match the Profane."

You say, "At least in individual rituals."

You smirk.

Gallifreius blinks.

You say, "I do not know any painters."

Rhhukh says, "I can imagine it would be -- folly."

Rhhukh gives a slight nod.

Gallifreius quietly says, "Oh no, yes. Wouldn't want to bring about the wrong form of horror."

Gallifreius takes a seat near a tall marble obelisk.

You say, "At a future lesson, perhaps we can get people to speak specifically about the particular Demons. But that is food for another time."

Ferkeutini chuckles.

Gallifreius slowly empties his lungs.

You think to yourself, "Perhaps much as you all are..."

You say, "This concludes the lesson for now. If any wish a little further instruction or have questions, by all means stay."

Rhhukh asks, "Have you had much luck with reaching Antrayalesis beyond the Seal?"

You say, "Next time, I think I may speak of specifics on chants, or psychic images to hold and focus on."

Ferkeutini says, "I think I've had enough, after regurgitating every meal I've ever eaten."

Rhhukh nods to you.

You gaze at Rhhukh.

Ferkeutini says, "But thank you for the knowledge."

Ferkeutini waves to you.

Ferkeutini stands up.

Flutist Ferkeutini trudges west.

You say, "I believe...I have had visions from several of the Profane."

Rhhukh gives a slight nod.

Rhhukh stands up.

Rhhukh dusts herself off.

You say, "The Sealed one, included."

Gallifreius takes off some darkly tinted spectacles etched with pale spiderwebs.

Gallifreius seems to be trying to figure out how to turn some darkly tinted spectacles etched with pale spiderwebs.

Gallifreius puts on some darkly tinted spectacles etched with pale spiderwebs.

Rhhukh frowns to herself, gently pushing the drying vomit from her lips.

Gallifreius gazes at Rhhukh.

Mortifer leans on you.

Mortifer says, "That was fun to experience."

Gallifreius slowly empties his lungs.

Mortifer smirks.

Gallifreius matter-of-factly says, "That's certainly one way of putting it."

Gallifreius flashes a wide grin.

Rhhukh says, "I -- intend to experiment with Altars. Soon. Beginning with those of Maelshyve and the Dragon, before testing Truffenyi's."

You cock your head.

Rhhukh says, "But -- first, perhaps I should develop a comfortability with rituals."

You say, "I would be wary of attempting it before you are ready."

Rhhukh ponders.

You say, "Many of us have attempted to defile altars of the immortals before."

Gallifreius gives a slight nod.

You say, "We were...unsuccessful."

Mortifer asks you, "Is there knowledge of any successful defilements?"

You shake your head.

Gallifreius carefully says, "At best, a bit of annoyance. If I'm not mistaken."

You say to Mortifer, "I know that the 5 eyed one mentioned something akin to it."

Mortifer nods to you.

Mortifer says, "I haven't heard any specifics of anything successful though."

Gallifreius stands up.

Gallifreius shakes his head at Mortifer.

Gallifreius adjusts his leather robe into place.

You say, "It is something I wish to ask of her."

Mortifer draws his knife and makes a thin cut across one of his hands.

Gallifreius gazes at Mortifer.

Rhhukh says, "I hope that I have the opportunity to discuss things further with her. There are many things I would learn."

Rhhukh gnaws on her lip.

You say, "I belive there are many of us that have questions for her."

You nod to Rhhukh.

You stand back up.

Mortifer says to Rhhukh, "You mentioned Antrayelsis earlier, and discussing things with her."

You dust yourself off.

You lean against a tall marble obelisk.

Mortifer asks Rhhukh, "Are you trying to reach out to any that will listen?"

Rhhukh says to Mortifer, "Yes. I am."

(Nefis murmers beneath his breath, words too low to decipher.)

Rhhukh says, "The Dragon will Wake. The Song will End."

Gallifreius looks over his shoulder nervously.

A S'Kra Mur commoner walks west.

Rhhukh says, "And the Gods will Fall."

Gallifreius rubs his neck.

Gallifreius softly says, "I'm rather fond of that song, personally."

You think to yourself, "I shall continue to exalt You, Profane. Worship of You shows power through sacrifice. All will come under Your darkness."

Rhhukh says to Gallifreius, "I find it quite dischordant."

Gallifreius looks at Rhhukh and shrugs.

Gallifreius quietly says, "So are waves."

Rhhukh says, "Peri'el cannot sing forever."

Gallifreius frowns solemnly.

Nefis visualizes being in the Darkness with the eyes and the fleshy mass. But this time, changes the view to Himself looking at a bright spot in the distance from many different perspectives, pleasingly stretched and skewed. The bright spot begins to come nearer and takes shape into that of the planet Elanthia. The muted, earthly colors slowly mutate into brilliant prismatic colors as He gets closer and closer, finally seeming to focus on a mountain, and Himself kneeling before an obelisk as the perspective shifts and He and Himself are once again the same.

You think to yourself, "Become Me!"

A S'Kra Mur commoner wanders into the area, looking for you.

A S'Kra Mur commoner gazes about the area with an intent look, watching the goings on.

You gaze at Rhhukh.

Gallifreius slowly empties his lungs.

You say, "I am unsure of the World Dragon is more than a folk tale."

Gallifreius wearily asks, "Would you really wish for such a thing?"

Rhhukh recites:

   "Shh'oiyvh-ur, paha'mus."

You frown at Rhhukh.

Rhhukh glances at Gallifreius.

Rhhukh says to Gallifreius, "The Gods enslave us to suffer forever."

Mortifer says to you, "I can take you somewhere where his spirit will strike you down."

Mortifer says to you, "If you have doubts about his existence."

Rhhukh observes Mortifer with fascination.

You chuckle.

Rhhukh says to Mortifer, "I would welcome that."

You say, "Perhaps...I might like to at least *see* this place."

You say, "The striking down part...maybe not."

Mortifer shrugs.

Mortifer says, "I can't show you without you dying."

Mortifer grins at you.

Gallifreius frowns.

Mortifer says, "That's how I found it."

Gallifreius uneasily says, "I'm guessing they're not still singing out of tradition alone."

Rhhukh curiously asks Mortifer, "Where may I find His spirit?"

Mortifer asks Rhhukh, "To what purpose do you seek power?"

Rhhukh says, "Freedom."

Gallifreius breathes almost without making a sound.

Mortifer sighs.

Rhhukh says, "I hope to break the Gods -- and then the Spiral."

You chuckle at Rhhukh.

You say, "You sound like a specific demon."

Rhhukh says, "But -- that day is not today."

Gallifreius distantly says, "Points for ambition, though."

Mortifer asks you, "Are we done for tonight?"

You nod.

Mortifer turns his longcoat.
Mortifer fades from your very sight!

You say, "Thank you few for coming."

Gallifreius chortles softly at some secret joke.

You say, "There is power in the Profane."

You say, "If you only seek it."

You say, "Exalt Them."

You smile.

You bow.

Gallifreius matter-of-factly says, "Your madness brings results, that much I cannot deny."

You chuckle.

Gallifreius grins sheepishly.

You say, "It is not madness...but purpose."

Gallifreius gives a slight nod.

Gallifreius happily says, "I'd argue we all feel that way."

Gallifreius waves dismissively.

Surgeon Gallifreius slouches west.
