Description: | Fire Rain is one of the most impressively powerful spells of destruction in the Warrior Mage's repertoire. It creates a burning cloud of ash which will rain down blazing balls of flame over an entire area. Though the cloud forms above everyone's heads, a very potent Zephyr can rid the area of the stormy conflagration. Additionally, the caster can end it prematurely by gesturing at it and unraveling its magical make-up.
This is an incredibly dangerous spell, and it is very easy to be charged with murder for accidentally killing bystanders. Luckily, with enough magic devices skill, a Warrior Mage can shape the cloud and force the deadly blasts only on creatures and enemies. This is not foolproof -- if you lack the skill, you may still cause unintended casualities. Spells such as Ethereal Shield and Veil of Ice also offer some limited protection, while Aether Cloak is even better. Bear in mind that if you use Fire Rain in a city and another adventurer gets hit at all, you'll be charged with public endangerment! | |

Spell Messaging
Swirls of ash, dust, and vapor begin to erupt from the ground as the temperature quickly increases.
A column of deep grey ash suddenly explodes skyward with an ominous rumble, darkening the immediate area!
The ground shudders slightly as a dark column-like cloud spreads out, mushrooming in all directions from its center. Swirling cinders begin to drift lazily downward from this pyroclastic cloud as it swells in size.
With the dull roar of unnatural thunder, a pyroclastic ash cloud begins to release a moaning shower of blistering balls of fire!
Balls of blazing fire continue to descend from a pyroclastic ash cloud, each hurtling down with explosive force!
The descent of fist-sized flames from the sky changes into the pattering of small, candle-sized droplets as the ash cloud slowly ceases its deluge.
The last of the candle-sized droplets cease, and the ash cloud grows deathly silent. A few harmless embers fall now and again, leaving the acrid scent of sulphuric ash as the only real memory of the hellish onslaught.
A pyroclastic ash cloud thins out and dissipates completely.
