Fold
Folds an item, with the result determined by the item. It is used to make origami figures and to change the state of certain cloth, clothing, toys, and contracts.
FOLD <origami paper> (successful fold) You see: You carefully make another fold in your paper. Others see: <Name> carefully makes another fold in <his/her> paper. FOLD <origami paper> (final fold) You see: You make the final fold and gaze proudly at your new <item>. Others see: <Name> makes a final fold and gazes proudly at <his/her> new <item>. FOLD <origami paper> (imperfect fold) You see: You make a fold in your paper, but it doesn't come out quite the way you planned. Others see: <Name> makes a fold in <his/her> paper, but it doesn't seem to enhance <his/her> project much. FOLD <origami paper> (ruined project) You see: You make a fold in your paper, but it doesn't come out quite the way you planned, and your project is ruined. Others see: <Name> makes a fold in <his/her> paper, but it doesn't seem to enhance <his/her> project much. FOLD <fabric> You see: You fold your <fabric> in half lengthwise. Others see: <Name> folds <his/her> <fabric> in half lengthwise. FOLD <foil> (first fold) You see: After smoothing out the <color> foil, you carefully make a fold, drawing one corner across and securing it in place. FOLD <foil> (final fold) You see: With a flourish, you tuck the final piece of <color/type> foil into place, creating a <color/type> foil <type>.

Syntax

• FOLD <ITEM>

Folds a suitable item. The effect and requirements depend on the item.

Notes

• For origami, hold the paper and study the instructions before beginning. Each successful attempt makes another fold until the figure is complete; an unsuccessful attempt may leave the project unfinished or ruin it. Origami cannot be folded while fighting, and each attempt incurs 10 seconds of roundtime. See Origami for instructions, patterns, and skill requirements.
• Some foldable fabric must be held with the other hand free and cannot be folded while worn. Folding it may shorten it or change how it is worn.
• Other scripted items can define their own result for this command. For example, foil is folded repeatedly into a wearable hat, while some cloths and contracts switch between folded and unfolded states.
