The resulting message depends on whether the character begins standing, sitting or prone. A character who is already kneeling remains in that position and receives the already-kneeling message.

Detailed Information
Knee is a damage dealing maneuver.<br />
Knee tends to be a somewhat fatiguing maneuver. Attacking again too soon can make this worse.<br />
Knee tends to be unbalancing.<br />
Knee is a quick maneuver, but heavy or unbalanced weapons can slow the attack further.<br />
Knee is more accurate than most maneuvers, and is best suited to impact weapons and least suited to both puncture and slice weapons.<br />
Knee temporarily penalizes all defenses, but is equally suited to evasion, parry, and shield defenses.<br />

Other characters receive no standard posture message when the actor is hidden, invisible or otherwise imperceptible. In those cases, a targeted person also receives no standard direct message.
Notes
* See Roundtime for brawling minimum roundtimes while grappled.
* Armor adds a small amount of damage based on its type, but only if you are wearing armor on the body part you are striking with. Brawling items such as knuckles, elbow spikes and footwraps override that bonus and convert the damage type of the limb they cover.
* The maneuver's own helpfile reports knee as a damage dealing maneuver rather than a brawling one, unlike the other unarmed attacks.

Syntax

 • KNEEL
Move from standing, sitting or prone into a kneeling position.
 • KNEEL <PERSON>
Kneel before another character. Targeting yourself produces the same messaging as the untargeted form.
 • KNEEL <CREATURE>
Kneel before a creature.
 • KNEEL <OBJECT>
Interact with an object that supports KNEEL. Chairs, benches, couches and similar objects may allow a character to kneel on them; other objects may provide their own messaging or behave like the untargeted form.

Usage

The resulting message depends on whether the character begins standing, sitting or prone. A character who is already kneeling remains in that position and receives the already-kneeling message.

Some areas must be navigated in a kneeling position by tall characters. A location can also prevent the action when there is not enough room or replace the standard messages with location-specific behavior.

Other characters receive no standard posture message when the actor is hidden, invisible or otherwise imperceptible. In those cases, a targeted person also receives no standard direct message.
