Flying Over the Raven's Nest Concert

This concert was held on April 30, 2023 and performed by Ansara

Introduction

[Arnack's Tavern, Bar Room]

At first glimpse the tavern offers all the sign outside promises. In one corner a pair of aged men play instruments and sing the occasional tune, while the other side of the room holds a number of tables and chairs for comfort and conversation. A barkeep bustles around, behind a bar in the back of the room, barking at servers to hustle and at the same time keeping a welcoming smile for all the customers. You also see a storm-grey cat with gold-flecked crystal blue eyes that is sitting, a smokey grey leopard with hypnotic crimson eyes and flecks of ashes on her fur that is sitting, a barkeep, a private room and a sturdy wooden menu.

You rub an inky dergatine gown flaunting a mermaid skirt sculpted from raven feathers.

Kintryn smiles at Tirost.

You straighten the fabric of your gown and wiggle a little, letting the gown fall perfectly into place.

You charmingly exclaim, "Ladies and Gents! Rags and Riches! Odds and Ends!"

Robarvo whistles loudly for a moment.

Jaelia gets an impish expression on her face, and lets out a hearty cheer.

You enthusiastically exclaim, "Welcome to my second ever concert!"

Zersha is giggling at you.

You suavely say, "I am Ansara, musical enthusiast, aspiring bard, and your entertainment for the next few rois."

Selame looks at you and applauds!

Tirost inhales deeply of the drink.

Malorna looks at you and applauds!

Robarvo takes a seat near Malorna.

Zalinyar looks at you and applauds!

You nod and tip your hat slightly.

Jaelia beams at you! What a warm feeling!

You look around, trying to appear nonchalant.

Alanarue looks at you and lets out a hearty cheer on your behalf!

Robarvo snuggles up to Malorna.

You seriously say, "Conflict is not on the set list."

Robarvo rubs Malorna gently, massaging her muscles.

Xadon makes weird whistling noises at you.

You seriously say, "So please keep the mosh pits to outside the tavern."

Selame produces a muffled snap with the pads of her furry fingers.

(Ansara sweeps her arm towards the exit as she bends in a slight bow)

Malorna snaps her fingers.

Haxen grins.

Robarvo grins.

You say, "This setlist is inspired by stories from many people in the realms and could not have been done without the willingness to share their time and tales."

You appreciatively say, "So I would like to take a moment to express appreciation for those who helped. They know who they are."

Selame takes a bite of the bonbon.

You truthfully say, "I did attempt to make sure the facts are there under the artistic flair."

You affectionately say, "I'd also like to take a moment to commend my loving husband, Xadon, who suffers through more days of practice than he cares to admit."

Xadon smiles.

Xadon bows ceremoniously to you, a mischievous twinkle in his eyes.

You say, "Flying Over the Raven's Nest, Negative Six Stars, is a Raven themed setlist."

Raising his Wind Hound rye to Xadon, Kethrai gives him a toast.

You rub a pair of raven-black feather wings draped with bejeweled platinum chains.

You say, "Though based on true stories and facts, some artistic license has been added."

Xadon nods to Kethrai.

Zersha grins at you.

Dying Bird

You say, "We'll begin with one of my favorites and an apparently common occurrence in the Empath guild."

Sothios smiles at Pyppa.

You smile contagiously as she settles her instrument, winking at the crowd as the first note echos through the tavern

Pyppa hugs Jaelia, getting a smile in return.

Malorna chuckles.

Pyppa leans on Sothios.

You get a sungold-rimmed tambourine with luminous moonsilver cymbals from inside your bitterweave pack.

You recite:

You effortlessly begin a quiet lament on your sungold-rimmed tambourine, your heart swelling in pride at your hard-earned skill.

Tirost flashes a quick grin at Kethrai.

Empathic shrugs, who knows"

Alanarue stands near Golameth.

(Ansara taps her toes causing her gown's feathers to flutter.)

Robarvo snuggles up to Malorna.

Patient and secure in his skill
The word vomit easily dodged
Finally a tip for the healing bill"

You say, "This next song is a true story all the way from Shard and may or may not be a solitary instance."

Sothios smirks.

Haxen takes a sip of his rye.

(Ansara raises an eyebrow with a mischievous smirk as she starts setting the scene)

Kethrai says, "Always on the lookout for something to take insult over, some folks of a feathered sort are."

(Ansara gazes down in deep concentration, pretending to be working dutifully)

Robarvo says, "Oh shard."

Robarvo snickers.

You get a pair of loveglass heart-shaped spoons with glittering ovoid glitvire handles from inside your bitterweave pack.

You recite:

"Raven Down"

Clarrke says, "I love shard."

(Ansara looks up suddenly, her ears on high alert)

You begin a quiet battle song on your loveglass spoons, your skill in your craft showcased in every note.

You disgustedly sing in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"He came in for the threads
His leather ripped to shreds
Took it off right there in the shop
The smell near knocked me dead"

Clarrke grins at Robarvo.

Selame holds her hand up before her mouth and begins to cough, her shoulders shaking. Hope it's not contagious!

Something heaved in my gut

Quick so he gets out of the hut"

Alanarue grins at Selame, her dimples flashing into view.

You say, "Deep in the forest, the far reaches of the deserts, the turbulent seas."

You say, "And in this case of this Raven."

Malorna wraps her arms lovingly around Robarvo, snuggling close.

You smirk.

Sothios leans on Pyppa.

You say, "It all starts in the bath house."

Kintryn smiles at Tirost.

Alanarue leans on Golameth.

Akeiro chuckles.

You get a slender blood-red brass sistrum in a fluted ebonwood frame from inside your bitterweave pack.

You recite:

"Ode'r Raven"

Pyppa grins evilly at Sothios.

Kethrai leans forward.

You begin a quiet minuet on your brass sistrum.

You bitterly sing in a mezzo-soprano voice:

"Through the mud and gore he trampsed along forgetting all his cares
They stopped and stared, holding their nose shut
"To the bath with you!" they yelled pointing at what he wears
"Your clothes are gross, you smell like a donkey's butt"
He lowered his head and went where he dread
To the bath house he walked in shame"

Kethrai angles his ears forward, gazing curiously at you.

"He spied the water and jumped right in not a look left or right
His head collided with the bottom of the tub
He surfaced real slow and gave the patrons quite the fright
Shrieks followed suit, he was left to blub blub
They called for a bard, they called for a barb
The Bardbarians heard and they came"

"The group rushed to the aid of the poor fellow in need

The smell still clung to the body, they weren't sure how to proceed
