The Naming Ritual is used to imprint Grazhir shards with a magical pattern of its name, which allows moon mages to use a named shard as an anchor for Astral Travel.
Each name is unique to a given shard, however, and the impact of the Naming Ritual varies. For example, when the shards Auilusi, Besoge, and Tabelrem underwent the Naming Ritual, Undarverjah's name changed to Erekinzil.
