The Wolf, symbol of Meraud, god of magic, foresight, and the Elothean race, is formed by a cluster of fourteen stars in the shape of a seated, howling wolf. Some say when the Wolf howls at Constellation-Katamba, Meraud himself walks the lands, hidden in the guise of an Elothean mage.
The Wolf is visible all year long. It is visible throughout the night. You recall the Wolf is taught at the 2nd circle of training.
