A darkened oak mantel fireplace, with a fragile crystal-framed painting in shades of rose and green hanging above it, stands guard over the elegant ivory velvet settee and curved-leg mahogany escritoire that rest upon a deep-woven lambswool carpet covering the floor. A lingering scent of perfume fills the air. You also see a wide bow window with decorative glitvire latticework and trim, a sleek golden mahogany bookcase with dragonclaw-foot legs and a high-backed mahogany parlor chair that is facing the escritoire.
