ACTION [what you want to do]

Usage:
ACT [options] {action}

Where [options] is zero or more of the following:
:{target} - Act with a target specified, such as another player or a nearby object.

When acting with a {target} specified, some special rules are applied to the action:
@ characters will be replaced by the target's name or short description.
# characters will be replaced with a possessive pronoun (his/her/its), as appropriate for the gender of the target. The target will see 'your'.
% characters will be replaced with an object pronoun (him/her/it), as appropriate for the gender of the target. The target will see 'you'.

Note that these characters will only be replaced if they appear before a space, at the end of your action, or immediately before a period (.), question mark (?), exclamation point (!), semi-colon (), or comma (,).
Type this as you want this to look to OTHER PEOPLE in the room. Imagine your action with YOUR NAME as the first word, rather than "I".
Example:
You type, "ACT dances silly, like a clown."
Everyone in the room sees, "(Xyngleburt dances silly, like a clown.)"

To use a comma immediately after your name, you need to place a space between the command ACT and the comma.
Example:
You type, "ACT , grunting with a slight smirk, burps loudly!"
Everyone in the room sees, "(Xyngleburt, grunting with a slight smirk, burps loudly!)"

To add a possessive to your name, you need to use the verb ACT'S instead of ACTION.
Example:
You type, "ACT's stomach rumbles loudly."
Everyone in the room sees, "(Xyngleburt's stomach rumbles loudly.)"

ACTION and ACT'S are *not* a substitute for speech. Do not use it to get around situations where you are unable to speak except to use appropriate gestures that convey meaning.</pre>

This command is most often used to accomplish things either not covered by other commands, or to give extra detail.
After catching someone in the act of pickpocketing within city limits, the victim may go to any guard of the city the crime happened in and accuse the person. It is not always successful, with such things as the victim and thief's past criminal record, and possibly relative Charismas being relevant to success.

As per Simutronics policy, this command should not be used to bypass situations where the character has been rendered unable to talk

Ettiquette
It is considered poor roleplaying for this command to be used to portray abilities, powers, or features not commonly associated with the character's race or class.

It is considered rude to use this command to bypass commands normally blocked by Demeanor.

This command should never be used to "fake" any other character's reaction. All actions created by this verb should relate to the acting character or non-entities such as environment.

guild association is::Traders, even if outside city limits, may lodge a complaint with a clerk at the local trading outpost, but only so long as the theft happened on a recognized trading route. If successful, the guild may send out a group of "concerned citizens" to inflict bodily harm upon the accused.

Thief use
Thieves, being against the common provincial law, have their own form of justice. A member in good standing with the thief guild may accuse a person, not of the guild, to the provincial guildleader. If the accused has been caught stealing from the guilded member, thugs are sent out. The resulting conversation is rarely survivable.
