Several blood splatters down the wall are framed on either side by a series of bloody hand prints. Drag marks line the sand, and irregular dark droplets follow the trail back towards the triage area. You also see a ramp leading to the triage area and some junk.

The air around Avrenka begins to shimmer oddly.

[Wyvern Arena, Blue Corner] (**)

Impaled in the wall is the massive blade of a sword, snapped off like the tooth of a large predator. Several scorch marks line the wall leading to a massive mark still bearing the silhouette of the victim of an attack where his body protected the wall from damage.

Avrenka gestures at Thanator.

A blinding actinic light explodes before Avrenka, which coalesces into an obelisk of icy blue crystal cut with mathematical equations.  It slowly drifts upward, trailing gossamer filaments of electrical light in its wake.

Thanator is revealed.

A sheet of slippery ice forms beneath Thanator!

Thanator slips and falls forward.  Thanator tries to catch himself with an agonite-edged triangular sipar with various faces swirling across its surface, but manages to rock his chin along the top of the sipar as he crashes to the ice below.

Thanator maneuvers about with supernatural grace!

Thanator moves about with magnified violence!

Thanator gasps and regains control of his breathing.

[Wyvern Arena, Yellow Corner] (**)

Niches carved in the chilled stone walls provide storage for those no longer with the living. The arena attendants place the bodies in the niches out of way of further harm until they can be dragged out. Tiny dried trickles of unidentifiable fluids trail down from recess, the only remnant of the departed.

[Wyvern Arena, Green Corner] (**)

An iron portcullis blocks a dark tunnel leading deep within the walls. Howls and screeches drift across the sands from the doorway, mingling with the sounds of the spectators. Swarms of gnats fly thick in the air like angry black clouds, occasionally darting to the walls to feast on the blood of the recently dead. You also see some junk.

[Wyvern Arena, Centerfield] (**)

Light from evenly placed wall torches illuminates the the dirty white sand of the stadium floor, which is packed rather hard in places. The cloying smells of blood and sweat mingle in the air, hanging thick and making the arena smell rather musty. Clouds of sand roll across the arena like a low fog, added to frequently by the fierce battles.

With a heaving flex of imposingly chiseled muscles, Thanator leaps out toward Avrenka, sailing over his head and behind him as Thanator slams down with his feet.

Avrenka is engulfed in a ripple of light and shadow, and vanishes, only to reappear some distance away!

The rays flash squarely in front of Thanator, shattering into myriad splinters bright as lightning.  He flinches away from the assault, notably staggered.

As the ray catches Thanator, tendrils of its energy proliferate fractally.  The fractals are drawn back around Thanator's head, twisting into a concentrated knot that sinks viciously inward.

The air around Avrenka solidifies into a blinding yellow luminescence and intercepts the attack with a shower of coruscating light.

Thanator's club lands a powerful strike (10/23) that deeply shocks the entire left bicep.  The throwing club lands at Thanator's feet.

Centered unerringly on Thanator's head, the ray is sustained for several seconds, collateral energy escaping as abstract teardrops in the air.  Each one sprouts smaller tear-shapes from itself, fractalizing and evolving into an intricate paisley.  Thanator appears utterly mesmerized until his head melts from within.

Thanator falls unconscious!

A stentorian voice announces, "Thanator loses!"
