Gender Male
Guild Thief
Instance Prime

Description

Blackguard Danoryiel Shadowsboon, Knave of Ilithi.
He has an angular face with elegant arched eyebrows, pointed ears, gold-flecked eyes, one milky white and one emerald and a broken nose. He has black hair that is shoulder length and straight, and is worn in a tousled, finger-combed style. He has tanned skin and an athletic build.
He is a bit over average height for an Elf.
He appears to be an adult.
He has a tattoo of the words "Musparan Prison System" in stark black above the numbers "003-96-36" on his neck.

He is wearing a diamond stud, a velver skeleton, a secure nightsilk money bag with a gleaming animite lock, a camouflaged nightsilk blackguard's pack set with the Shadowsboon family crest, some richly shaded locksmith's robes belted with a thick sash of nightsilk, an albredine crystal ring, a rugged olive-drab utility belt fastened by a polished bronze buckle, a locksmith's toolbelt fashioned from darkened leather and a pair of heretic's boots with blackened steel-capped toes.

History and Notes

"I am the corruptor. I am the rot at the heart of all things. I am the corruption that fells the holiest of warriors, I am the armor that will not shine, I am the lock that will not open and I am the judge who sets a murderer free into the world again. I am the master of decay and my hand touches all things in time." -Botolf the Corruptor

Danoryiel was born sometime around the year 263 after the victory of Lanival the Dragon ( or Lanival the Redeemer depending on whose history you subscribe to ) to the House of Shadowsboon, a family of the Mountain Clan elves. Growing up he was trained by his family to become a paladin. Upon his 43rd year, he became a full fledged paladin under the leadership of Darius and began adventuring, full of inspiration that he could make a difference in the world. Over the course of a decade however, his heart slowly began to harden to the cries for help until one day he held nothing but contempt for those that would beg for help. His faith in Chadatru during this time also shifted slowly and slowly to that of his darker aspect Botolf the corruptor, and soon he was no longer praying for justice for the weak and powerless, he was standing aside and allowing injustices carry on as they willed. When the leadership of the guild of paladins discovered his patronage to Botolf, he was discharged from service, beaten severely and his left eye blinded as punishment for turning a blind eye to justice.

After healing from his wounds, he found his way to Riverhaven and sought out a certain halfling who, like him, was purged from the ranks of the Paladin Guild and began a new way of life more fitting to his way of thinking. He quickly began to study under the halfling and absorbed his new leaders training and tutelage. He learned the technique of sign language and focusing his mind to achieve greater control of his actions and surroundings among other things. When he left his teacher sometime around the year 325, he was well versed in subtlety. His teacher set him to find others like them around the major cities in order to learn new abilities and to gain more knowledge. Over many years he drifted from one province to another, and in each major city he would locate like minded persons and study under them for a time in order to gain more knowledge and abilities, among them the use of poisons and the age old art of sleight of hand "magic".
