:If that still applies, how it would seem to work is that invisible is still a binary state but maybe with different "grades"? Because AFAIK the way it works is that the system just checks to see if you're invisible or not. It's definitely more complicated and encompassing than a straight up stealth bonus at any rate. Invisibility non binary

"Invisibility is a binary state; either you are "invisible" or you aren't, and the power of your invisibility (i.e. the bonus to stealthy actions) does not scale with the potency of the ability or spell granting it." I'm pretty sure the second half of this statement is inaccurate at least as it applies to Moon Mage invisibility spells. More mana increases the effectiveness of invisibility's effect on stealth. I am less familiar with the other guild's invisibility spells, so I don't know where they stand. This post was back from pre 3.0 magic, but I believe it still applies: Post:Clarification_on_invisibility_-_3/29/2010_-_18:16:06--ABSOLON (talk) 17:28, 17 August 2015 (CDT)

If that still applies, how it would seem to work is that invisible is still a binary state but maybe with different "grades"? Yes, definitely more than a straight up stealth buff. The best explanation I was able to come up with is here: http://forums.play.net/forums/DragonRealms/The%20Moon%20Mages/The%20Lunar%20Magic%20Spell%20Books/thread/1708760
One thing in that explanation that I touched on but didn't emphasize is that invisibility isn't uniform for all checks that account for it. I.e. each check has its own invisibility code written into it. What might be the case is that some checks are binary, while others allow for scaling. Sometimes it's not even the stealth check that gets modified but the perception check. The info in that post along with this clarification is the most detail I've ever been able to get out of GMs on the subject to date. I think I'll bump that thread to ask for more detail about non-RF invisibility scaling and if it's graded or more smooth.--ABSOLON (talk) 00:43, 18 August 2015 (CDT)
