(Note: Some of this has played out IG, but for the most part it’s the sort of background information that is hard to directly convey during events for a variety of reasons, particularly during festival time.)
While sunlight has returned to the sky, a dark cloud continues to loom over the Moon Mage Guild. An entire Guildhall is gone, countless are dead, a sect crippled, and a Guildleader is missing, possibly dead. Questions are many and answers are sparse. The day to day response to these events within the Guild has been varied. Some have been stunned into inaction; others brushed aside the tragedy to focus on the larger threat of Dergati. Many have now lost themselves in the festivities following the thwarting of her plans. While the Lesser Fist Guildhall is a lost cause, enormous resources have been leveraged to tend to and house the displaced survivors. Already there are murmurs of trying to excavate the Guildhall to discover what, if anything, can be salvaged. Weeks later it remains unclear what exactly happened, or why. Were the Moon Mages simply caught up in Dergati’s greater scheme? Why were the prophecies all misleading? What, if anything, do the enigmatic entities known as Pelag ai Aldam and the Arbiter in Darkness have to do with this catastrophe? With the eruption most of the portents faded, but some of the first omens of doom remain, still lingering over the Guild. What of Guildleader Tiv? He has not been seen or heard from since the eruption, and all attempts to scry him have failed. He seems to be simply gone, leaving behind little but his cryptic final words: Today is a day of Gods and men; not of us. He overreaches himself. -Raesh | |
