| Protection can provide total damage elimination. Absorption cannot. You must pass a skillcheck to get the benefit of protection.
Example - 10 incoming damage. Pass the skillcheck, protection removes 9 damage. Absorption removes 1 damage, you take 0 damage. 10 incoming damage. Fail the skillcheck, absorption removes 3 damage. You take 7. | |
