Gathering for the Vigil

[Temple Grounds, Cobblestone Path]
The astonishing sight of the grand temple lies to the north, atop a massive stairway. Three towers flank the sides of the structure, a complex network of walkways stretching between them and the temple's top levels. A smooth cobblestone path runs east and west here, curving around to the grounds areas on either side of the temple. You also see a pink-eared white piglet with a peach pirate's gown with a ruffled bodice and daisies adorning the layered skirt on it and an iron-bound oak door next to the base of the stairway. Also here: Gestalt Terlockin, Ectheleon, Empath Emeritus Leayne, Java Jumper Ysindre, Harkour, Soul Surgeon Zynell who is emanating a bright holy aura and Mother Jaelia who is emanating a benevolent holy aura.

Soulverust came out of an iron-bound oak door next to the base of the stairway.

Soulverust takes a seat.

Zynell seems lost in thought for a few moments.

Harkour waves to Soulverust.

Soulverust puts his chain in his backpack.

Jaelia says, "If you are joining us, you'll want to stand, we'll be walking up some flights of stairs and in circles shortly."

Jaelia grins.

Sothios just arrived.

Jaelia hugs Sothios, getting a smile in return.

Zynell places her hands on Sothios's shoulders and directs a soft, rumbling purr in his direction as Zynell presses her forehead against Sothios's.

Jaelia says, "Not at all, literally almost anything will work."

Jaelia says, "Nope, we'll use what we have and we are good."

Green One Dekaro just arrived.

Soulverust gets a pale silver prayer bead chain from inside his backpack.

Jaelia says, "However, it should be done with thought, not some random garbage you found on the street unless it has a way of tying in. So - let's not insult are Immortals, but its the intention that matters more, if you want to share words and thoughts, those are more meaingful too."

Jaelia says, "Since we hope to prevail, but do not know how this world may change or be altered, forever or temporarily, it is important to keep some things in mind."

Ryeka came out of an iron-bound oak door next to the base of the stairway.

Ryeka gets an impish expression on her face, and lets out a hearty cheer.

Signalling her piglet, Leayne commands it to hunt.

A pink-eared white piglet quickly trots off, snout to the ground. After a few moments, it returns and deposits something in front of Leayne.

Soulverust nods.

Ectheleon nods to Jaelia.

Jaelia says, "For example, our 13 neutral Immortals have very different domains and personas and themes in the Kaldarn religion."

Leayne picks up a large black truffle.

Ryeka wraps her arms around Jaelia, giving Jaelia a great big bear hug!

Ryeka grins, revealing her dimples.

Ectheleon says, "I'll have incense, candles, and beads available for offerings. If anyone needs them please feel free to nudge, poke, whisper, or grunt at me."

Terlockin glances up at the sky.
After a few moments he lowers his gaze.

Jaelia exclaims, "I don't need any offerings, save them for the altars, I apologize!"

Soulverust nods.

Jaelia says, "If you have your own, that is great, if not, Ect will get you something."

Ryeka smiles, revealing the dimples in her cheeks.

Jaelia asks, "Ok, We're heading on up everyone following me?"

Zynell just hugged Ryeka.

Jaelia says, "Ok, up we go to visit Truffenyi first, then we will pick our next altars as a group from there."

Below to either side, paths curve around in between the main temple and the east and west towers. The monoliths stretch upwards and lean slightly toward the temple itself, as if grasping out toward the beacon area atop the structure, above the Eyes of The Thirteen. Smoothly cut granite steps lead upward to the north, climbing toward the massive temple.

The grand stairway continues its ascent to the north, approaching the looming orb of the temple. Ornate silverwillow banisters curve down from the entrance, polished to a lustrous sheen and carved to resemble flowing streams, trickling serenely to the bottom of the stairs.

[Grand Stairway, Temple Entrance]
The stairs descend to the south providing a spectacular view of the meandering Segoltha river. The grand orb-like temple yawns open directly to the north, its massive double doors sure to ward off any foolish invaders who may besiege this religious fortress. Two massive bronze sconces protrude above the entryway, each shaped like an outstretched feline's paw clutching an eternal flame -- surely a blessing from the goddess of civilization who aided in the reconstruction of this monument.

[The Crossing Temple, Entrance Hall]
Light flows like a stream from beyond a large archway, enveloping the entire entrance hall with radiance. Beautifully carved pillars stand on either side of the arch, greeting visitors and monks that make their way towards the center of the globe. Curving along the outer wall of the Temple, long plaster hallways with polished mahogany floors lead worshippers clockwise and widdershins around the sphere. You also see a large archway and the massive double ironwood doors leading out of the temple.

A fresh breeze wafts along the passage, bringing with it the gentle but fragrant scents of the garden. Along the outside wall, a long curving planter filled with rich soil provides a tiny sanctuary for young saplings to grow. Standing protectively in front of them, a mahogany pedestal rises like a monument to its living brethren.

Curiously elusive, a faint musty smell intrudes upon an otherwise elegant hallway. An antique crystal chandelier emits a warm golden glow that caresses everything from the central wooden pedestal to the narrow wooden staircase that ascends the outside wall.

[Eyes of the Thirteen, Hallway]
The hallway continues its curved passage leading to each of the Eyes of the Thirteen. A narrow wooden staircase, recessed into one wall, is visible as it curves gently downward toward the lower portions of the temple. To the northwest within the curving passage, sprinkles of some kind of shimmering purple dust are visible on the floor, adding a remarkable contrast of color against the white plaster walls.

Matte black marble rises in a graceful arch leading to the entrance to a shrine. Steel dagger hilts, their blades buried in the stone, radiate outwards along the curve of the arch, while the keystone is carved with the image of a snarling amber-eyed panther.

Walls draped entirely in black silk fill the length of this platform with shadows that shift from ebon to deep azure as light falls from the dome of midnight-blue glass above. Barely silhouetted in the gloom is the lithe form of a life-sized obsidian panther depicted in full stalk, the great cat seeming to lead the way towards the room beyond. Someone has placed a garland of scarlet nightshade around its neck, the blossoms gone fiery against the dark, glassy stone of the sculpture. You also see a pure white alabaster altar set in a shadowed corner and a dusky blue marble altar inlaid with crystals and a dreamstone.

Fiery shades of red blaze within the confines of this stark chamber, the light from the temple shining smoothly through the warmth of the crystal resting over the far end the platform. A gentle tapping whispers throughout the room as a barbed spear suspended from the ceiling strikes softly against a battered shield that hangs above the archway. Resting silently at the edge of the platform, a statue set in pure silver gazes outward, its vigil over the temple floor below constant and unending. You also see a roughly carved altar of black walnut and a black iron altar embellished with bone and gold wire.

A set of wolf prints sprinkled with deep purple alexandrite dust is sculpted into the floor, leading the way into the shrine which lies beyond the polished black granite archway. You also see a gold plaque on the wall.

The lily-white plaster walls gently curve along the corridor, following the spheriform shape of the temple itself. Through a bleached ash archway along the inner wall, a pale alabaster platform extends out over the High Altar area.

The platform is surrounded by a large opaline crystal dome. Leading out to the hallway of the temple, a bleached ash archway stands as noble sentry, guarding this sacred shrine. Faint etchings have been made in the pale alabaster floor, leading inward toward the end of the crystal half-sphere. You also see a low altar of golden sandstone and a heavy altar of brass and obsidian.

The pale walls of the hallway curve to each side, reflecting on floors of polished marble tile. Set into the tiles before the entrance to the Shrine of Mortals is an intricate mosaic crafted from multicolored glass. Diffused blue light pours through the silver-inlaid mahogany archway, setting the glittering mosaic afire with color.

A silvery blue dome erupts from the wall above, creating a hemisphere to enclose the shrine in hues that mimic the summer sky. Starlight filtering through the crystal from the chamber beyond fills the room with a wan glow that glitters where it touches silver specks in the dark granite platform beneath you. Sitting near the archway, an obsidian stand is tipped slightly beneath the paws of an impish agate weasel, leaving a silver magpie on top to backwing as its perch is pushed out from under it. You also see a small altar fashioned from a section of lightning-blasted mistwood and a rich blue marble altar set with a mosaic of jewels.

Jaelia nods.

Jaelia exclaims, "There we go!"

The granite platform sparkles slightly where touched by the diffused light shed by the silvery blue dome. Silver feathers inlaid in the crystal dapple the surface of a polished granite altar with tiny shadows that almost blend into the stone's already mottled surface. Rising from the altar's center is an ornately carved triptych statue crafted so seamlessly as to appear an extension of the same stone of the altar. You also see a tall silver candlestick.

Jaelia kneels down.

Ryeka smiles, revealing the dimples in her cheeks.

Someone has placed a garland of scarlet nightshade around its neck, the blossoms gone fiery against the dark, glassy stone of the sculpture. Walls draped entirely in black silk fill the length of this platform with shadows that shift from ebon to deep azure as light falls from the dome of midnight-blue glass above. Barely silhouetted in the gloom is the lithe form of a life-sized obsidian panther depicted in full stalk, the great cat seeming to lead the way towards the room beyond. Someone has placed a garland of scarlet nightshade around its neck, the blossoms gone fiery against the dark, glassy stone of the sculpture. You also see a pure white alabaster altar set in a shadowed corner and a dusky blue marble altar inlaid with crystals and a dreamstone.

A narrow wooden staircase, recessed into one wall, is visible as it curves gently downward toward the lower portions of the temple. To the northwest within the curving passage, sprinkles of some kind of shimmering purple dust are visible on the floor, adding a remarkable contrast of color against the white plaster walls.

A silvery blue dome erupts from the wall above, creating a hemisphere to enclose the shrine in hues that mimic the summer sky. Starlight filtering through the crystal from the chamber beyond fills the room with a wan glow that glitters where it touches silver specks in the dark granite platform beneath you. Sitting near the archway, an obsidian stand is tipped slightly beneath the paws of an impish agate weasel, leaving a silver magpie on top to backwing as its perch is pushed out from under it. You also see a small altar fashioned from a section of lightning-blasted mistwood and a rich blue marble altar set with a mosaic of jewels.

The scent of incense from somewhere nearby wafts through the air, filling the space with a mild, sweet aroma. Revealed by a narrow arch within a section of the curving walls, a narrow staircase flows upwards and disappears above as it arcs up toward the uppermost areas of the temple.

The silver platform below you gleams as a sea of liquid emerald, the light striking it tinted by a green crystal half-sphere that encases this small shrine. Tiny people bustle in and out of the seats in the High Altar chamber below, some likely waiting for the next sermon to begin under the Eyes of the Thirteen. You also see a carved sandalwood altar banded with black jade, a grey basalt altar set with bejeweled bands of gold and a gem-encrusted satinwood archway.

A faceted green crystal dome encases the end of the smooth silver platform, giving the shrine the appearance of being trapped within the delicate crystalline structure of an emerald. The green glow casts itself throughout, as if the only color ever known to this place. At the edge of the platform, just against the dome, a bejeweled silver triptych statue rests upon a low altar. You also see a pink-eared white piglet with a peach pirate's gown with a ruffled bodice and daisies adorning the layered skirt on it and a tall silver candlestick.

Sitting near the archway, an obsidian stand is tipped slightly beneath the paws of an impish agate weasel, leaving a silver magpie on top to backwing as its perch is pushed out from under it. Jaelia says, "Two or three do not always cover large swaths of domains so easily. It is more easier to find a path you align with when they are more focused."

Jaelia asks, "Did any one else wish to offer thoughts to Tamsine before we move on?"

Asildu says, "May Tamsine watch over and guide our civilization."

Asildu nods.

Sothios asks, "Damaris is the lord of the lost, have you tried to speak with him at all?"

Sothios peers quizzically at Asildu.

Ryeka smiles at Asildu, revealing the dimples in her cheeks.

Jaelia says, "After this altar, we are going to go ahead and head down. There are many places others need to be for important reasons, and we did visit all 13 yesterday with lots of personalized offerings."

Asildu nods to Sothios.

Illiya nods to Asildu.

Asildu says to Sothios, "I find silence at them all. But it hasn't stopped me from trying."

Ectheleon smiles.

Jaelia says, "I hope - Some find it hard to believe the Immortals fight and conflict. I don't find that at all, they are just different values and paths that call to us differently and at different stages of life."

Sothios nods to Asildu.

Jaelia says, "And sometimes, though we may have favorites, they will all eventually call and ask for service, and today and going forward we continue to offer them this service."

Ectheleon says, "May we all remember Faenella for her calming song and Glythtide for a happy ending."

Ectheleon smiles.

Illiya says, "Trying is all we can do."

Sothios says, "Ive found that Damaris isnt one of many words, but has shown to b there when I really needed him."

Asildu nods at Illiya, obviously agreeing with her views.

Sothios nods to Asildu.

Jaelia says, "Keep your actions of faith, humility, service, prayer, praise and little things going as those are the beacons that strengthen faith the community and our Immortals."

Zynell says to Asildu, "He will be there with a safe place when you are ready to be hidden from the heralds."

Jaelia says, "Because if you come seeking the answers, they will find you faster. However, if you do not seek them, and they come to find you GOOSES are you in for a shock better be ready for the call."

Ryeka grins at Jaelia, her dimples flashing into view.

Sothios nods to Zynell.

Asildu says to Zynell, "That's just it. I don't intend to hide from them. I intend to be on the front lines."

Jaelia smiles at Asildu.

Jaelia rummages through an effervescent eddy of honey-hued light captured by a sungold frame, pausing once in a while and then quickly resuming the search.

Terlockin smiles at Asildu.

Illiya pets a three-legged night black kitten.

Zynell says to Asildu, "You said you needed to be hidden to break your bond fully."

Jaelia rummages about her person, looking for something.

Jaelia says, "Do you all wish to linger for a bit, or head out? I am happy to wait if you prefer."

Ectheleon says, "I'm going to go give a quick thanks but I'll be back."

Jaelia hugs Ectheleon, who wraps his arms around Jaelia with a warm smile.

Jaelia nods.

Ectheleon wanders up.

Jaelia says, "There will also be a meeting later for the Zoluren Defense regarding Triage."

Harkour nods to Jaelia.

Jaelia says, "If you are able to come, or catch up with others before the issues start, please do so, but do not do it on public places where others can overhear."

Illiya nods.

Illiya ponders.

Jaelia says, "Let us not give up our secrets so easily, these are the things that let us last longer."

Jaelia nods.

Asildu nods in agreement.

Jaelia asks, "With that in mind, I will go ahead and bring us down to the Base of the stairs, are we ready to move?"

Illiya nods.

Jaelia says, "Immortals walk with you as you trod their paths."

[Eyes of the Thirteen, Tamsine's Shrine]
A pale golden crystal dome extends outward from the wall to surround the amber platform which stretches out from beneath the lacquered oaken archway. Two rows of Halfling-high candles line either side of the platform, casting an inviting glow throughout the entire shrine. You also see a carved bloodwood altar accented with silver and onyx and a modest altar of dove-grey marble.

Asildu puts his bead in his scholar's satchel.

The gentle glow of candlelight emanates from beneath a lacquered oaken archway, causing fickle figures to dance across the delicate white plaster walls.

The cool white walls of the hallway are broken by two pillars of ivory -- a pair of carved mammoth tusks forming an archway to a shrine bathed in amber light. You also see a pair of mammoth tusks.

The hallway continues its circular path within the white plaster walls of the temple. Perfect mirror images, two cresting waves have been inlaid into the tile floor before a narrow archway leading toward a blue crystal platform.

The curving white plaster walls are tinted a rich luminous green as light flows beneath a gem-encrusted satinwood archway. Beyond the archway, a silver platform leads out into the Eye of the Serpent.

The scent of incense from somewhere nearby wafts through the air, filling the space with a mild, sweet aroma. Revealed by a narrow arch within a section of the curving walls, a narrow staircase flows upwards and disappears above as it arcs up toward the uppermost areas of the temple.

The pale walls of the hallway curve to each side, reflecting on floors of polished marble tile. Set into the tiles before the entrance to the Shrine of Mortals is an intricate mosaic crafted from multicolored glass. Diffused blue light pours through the silver-inlaid mahogany archway, setting the glittering mosaic afire with color.

Finely carved mahogany borders hug the curves of the archway which serves as entrance to the shrine. A faint corona of ruddy light flows through the arch, bathing the pale paster with a pale reddish tint.

Matte black marble rises in a graceful arch leading to the entrance to a shrine. Steel dagger hilts, their blades buried in the stone, radiate outwards along the curve of the arch, while the keystone is carved with the image of a snarling amber-eyed panther.

The hallway continues its curved passage leading to each of the Eyes of the Thirteen. A narrow wooden staircase, recessed into one wall, is visible as it curves gently downward toward the lower portions of the temple. To the northwest within the curving passage, sprinkles of some kind of shimmering purple dust are visible on the floor, adding a remarkable contrast of color against the white plaster walls.

[The Crossing Temple, Hallway]
Curiously elusive, a faint musty smell intrudes upon an otherwise elegant hallway. An antique crystal chandelier emits a warm golden glow that caresses everything from the central wooden pedestal to the narrow wooden staircase that ascends the outside wall.

A fresh breeze wafts along the passage, bringing with it the gentle but fragrant scents of the garden. Along the outside wall, a long curving planter filled with rich soil provides a tiny sanctuary for young saplings to grow. Standing protectively in front of them, a mahogany pedestal rises like a monument to its living brethren.

Light flows like a stream from beyond a large archway, enveloping the entire entrance hall with radiance. Beautifully carved pillars stand on either side of the arch, greeting visitors and monks that make their way towards the center of the globe. Curving along the outer wall of the Temple, long plaster hallways with polished mahogany floors lead worshippers clockwise and widdershins around the sphere. You also see a large archway and the massive double ironwood doors leading out of the temple.

[Grand Stairway, Temple Entrance]
The stairs descend to the south providing a spectacular view of the meandering Segoltha river. The grand orb-like temple yawns open directly to the north, its massive double doors sure to ward off any foolish invaders who may besiege this religious fortress. Two massive bronze sconces protrude above the entryway, each shaped like an outstretched feline's paw clutching an eternal flame -- surely a blessing from the goddess of civilization who aided in the reconstruction of this monument.

The grand stairway continues its ascent to the north, approaching the looming orb of the temple. Ornate silverwillow banisters curve down from the entrance, polished to a lustrous sheen and carved to resemble flowing streams, trickling serenely to the bottom of the stairs.

Below to either side, paths curve around in between the main temple and the east and west towers. The monoliths stretch upwards and lean slightly toward the temple itself, as if grasping out toward the beacon area atop the structure, above the Eyes of The Thirteen. Smoothly cut granite steps lead upward to the north, climbing toward the massive temple.

[Temple Grounds, Cobblestone Path]
The astonishing sight of the grand temple lies to the north, atop a massive stairway. Three towers flank the sides of the structure, a complex network of walkways stretching between them and the temple's top levels. A smooth cobblestone path runs east and west here, curving around to the grounds areas on either side of the temple. You also see a pile of jadice flower, a pile of jadice flower and an iron-bound oak door next to the base of the stairway.

Harkour says, "A few matters to attend to. Though thank you once more for holding the vigil."

Zynell says, "May the silence be fleeting."

Harkour snaps to attention and hails Jaelia with a crisp hand salute.

Jaelia says, "So they don't just yell at me about it."

Asildu says, "Prayers are important for the coming days."

Ryeka says, "It was an honor to have you with us."

Illiya asks Asildu, "How are you feeling about our chances?"

Terlockin left the group.

Asildu says to Illiya, "I'm giving optimism a try."

Illiya exclaims to Asildu, "That's good!"

Jaelia says, "Honestly, when chaos is about and you cannot control anything, embrace the chaos, and laugh in its face."

Ectheleon exclaims, "Nothing like unerring optimism!"

Jaelia says, "I am going to again remind us - no matter how this battle goes - it is likely to brin changes."

Illiya waves to Terlockin.

Gestalt Terlockin goes south.

Jaelia says, "Not all change is bad. Stay on the path, remember the lessons, keep the faith and their memories alive."

Tasuja just arrived.

Tasuja went into an iron-bound oak door next to the base of the stairway.

Jaelia says, "All fallen, our Immortals, nothing can take that away, and that is our strength."

Zynell leans back against Sothios with a loving smile.

Jaelia says, "When a community remembers, one does not die. One lives on even brighter."

Ryeka forages around the area for a while until she finds a cherry stick.

Asildu gazes off into the distance.

Illiya asks Asildu, "Any other ideas for what we can do to prepare?"

Zynell bows her head and mutters a short prayer in a hushed voice. Raising her head, she glances to the shadows with a knowing smile.

Asildu says to Illiya, "Be ready at any moment. And be ready for anything. Beyond that, this isn't really a battle one can prepare for. The Heralds are... unlike any enemy you've ever fought before."

Ryeka nods to Asildu.

Illiya nods to Asildu.

Jaelia nods in agreement.

Ectheleon nods.

Asildu says, "When the Immortals are ready to strike, we will know what to do. I have faith in that."

Jaelia says, "Honestly, they'll probably show up playing bagpipes just to start that fight to catch us off guard, don't let anything they throw at us deceive us."

Ryeka grins at Jaelia, her dimples flashing into view.

Jaelia says, "Bagpipes may or may not be instruments - but I hope you see the parallel. Keep your eye on what matters."

Zynell asks Sothios, "Have your smoke dance ready?"

Ectheleon laughs!

Asildu says, "In the meantime, I shall remain here at the Temple."

Ryeka dances a lively jig!

Ryeka grins, revealing her dimples.

Jaelia stops you from following her.

Jaelia places her hands on her thighs and bows deeply at the waist towards Asildu, holding the position for a moment before returning upright.

Illiya says to Asildu, "Good luck to you sir, and to us all."

Ectheleon exclaims, "Well thank you all for joining!"

Jaelia says, "If you wil forgive me, I have an Order meeting to attend, blessings of the Immortals to you all."

Ryeka exclaims, "Rest well, and best of luck!"

Jaelia grins.

Asildu says to Illiya, "We'll need it."

Ectheleon says, "Small break and I'll see you at Triage Training."

Jaelia says, "Keep the Faith."

Asildu nods.

Ectheleon smiles.

Jaelia nods.
