After 10 years of playing the game, and as of February 2009 the original player of Sok Masticack retired from playing Dragonrealms.

As of April 2016 the original player of Sok tracked the character down and acquired ownership of the character once again.

You are Thievery Legend Sok Masticack, Transcendent Thief of Velaka, a Dwarf.
You have bulging milky blue eyes. Your red hair is shoulder length and wavy, and is worn matted down on top in a serious case of "helmet hair". You have pockmarked skin.
You are tiny for a Dwarf.
You have a thick bushy mustache that droops heavily on your upper lip and a long shaggy beard. Your forearm has a tattoo of a kneeling Dwarf thrusting a sword skyward as he is encircled by a ring of spectral apparitions.

"My story...not much to say there. Im not very remarkable or even one of the guilds best. I only train haphazardly and I tend to goof off and backtrain all kinds of wierd stuff like staff sling. If you really want to hear my story, pull up a stool and grab a mug of Forkbeards best..."

"I was born to a hard working family. My pa worked in the smithy and my ma, she was a baker for most of the hamlet. Im an only child and my folks had little time for me after I was walking around. I guess they figured Id get bored and wander over to the smithy to learn the trade or the mines and learn the skilled art behind mining. Actually, neither one ever appealed to me. It meant a lot of backbreaking work to me. I dont like ta sweat so I figured Id try something that folks allways say is wrong. I didnt see anything wrong with it so..."

"We never got any visitors in town except for the occasional traveling merchant and we was all Dwarves so we trusted each other. Noone locked thier doors or shuttered thier windows when they went off to work. My folks, the thought I was learnin some mining skills, and the straw boss of da mine thought I was werkin in da smithy wif ma pa. In fact noone knew what I was upto. Didnt even once think to tell them because of thier reactions to the occasional news storywe would get from the merchants where thieves lost thier hand fer takin stuff or even lost thier heads. I liked mine right where it was thank you."

"When I first started down this path, I didnt look at it as stealin. I intended to give back the pretty things when they no longer had thier shine in my eyes. Extended borrowing you might say. Never anything real expensive, or big. It could get missed to easily."

"Then came the day that a specialty merchant came to town. He had goods made specificly for the dwarf. I asked my folks for some coins so I could buy the Warboots that caught my eye. I didnt know anything about coin value back then so the price of 5 platinum Lirums didnt seem like a lot to me. Needless to say, I was turned down flat. So I went to the merchant thinking these guys travel a lot, they must allways be on the lookout for more stuff to sell in other places."

"Asking him if he would be willing to trade anything I might have for the boots, I was a little surprised when he asked me what I had to offer. Now I sat there thinking for a moment, nothing I personally owned was worth much. We led a frugal life and owning something just because it was nice was something we never did. So I started thinking about the small treasures that I had picked up here and there. I knew noone REALLY missed them because they never asked about them."

"Well I says, I have this nifty little statuette of a wolf that I might trade for it. The town Empath had asked me if he could see it and did funny things with it."

"Here I knew my face was flushed with telling of my first blatant lie and I KNEW the merchant could tell I wasnt exactly telling the truth. He never let on though"

"So I went home and pried up the board under my pallet and pulled out my few sparklies. The statuette, a gold ring with some wierd markings on it that I found in the Captain of the militas home, and a ruby studded ring."

"Taking them all back to the merchant, and making sure I was the only one there with him, I pulled them all out and asked him what he could give me for the other two items. Surpised me when he offered me 3 platinum for all the stuff and trade straight across for the boots. Sure. Ill take the coin. noone will miss the trinkets. So I sold them. Now I had coin of my own and could get beer over in the next town. I wouldnt spend it here because everyone knew I didnt have any money."

"That night I went to sleep dreaming of all the stuff I could buy with my new wealth. I woke the next morning feeling good about life in general. Being hungry I went to get a bite to eat. Now by this time my folks are usually long gone to work. Imagine my surprise when I saw them both sitting at the table and the Captain of the guard sitting there with them."

"When I sat down and reached for some leftover beef, all the sudden the Captain slams his belt knife point down on the table in front of my hand. Yanking my hand back I looked and saw a look Ive come to know over the years. Rage. This Dwarf was madder than a rabbid dog."

"the only words outa his mouth was and I quote 'Anything to say for yourself?'"

"Shaking my head, my pa told me to turn out my pockets. As I was thinking of going to visit the next town, I had all my coins on me. There wasnt anything I could do or say to avoid this. Turning out my pockets, my three platinums resting in my hand for everyone to see, my ma just started to breakdown and cry. My pa, he grunted with resignation in the sound. He turned to the Captain and said 'Your right. I wash my hands of this thief. Do to him what you will. He is dead to me.'"

"The Captain looked at my ma and when she also grunted agreement I KNEW I was in real trouble. The Captain then turned to me and told me to gather what is mine and do it fast. Take nothing else. At all."

"I knew he was serious about this so I ran back into my room and grabbed a sack put my new boots in it and what few clothes I had. When I went back out, the front door was open and I could see a crowd had gathered. When they saw me they started calling me names like Coward and Thief and Scum. The Captain grabbed me by the scruff of my neck and dragged me outside with him. He bade the people to be quiet so all could hear his words."

"This young dwarf will keep what he thinks he earned. That is ALL the help we will give him. He is banished from here. If he ever returns, any extra punishment anyone here sees fit to do, the guard will in now way stand in your way. He is to leave this town NOW. Never to return. This is the councils judgement. This is the least of what he deserves yes, he deserves more, and in time he will get that and more if he keeps to this path he has taken."

"With that said he shoved me down the road. Hear these words Sok Masticack(actually he used my full name, but I dont tell just anyone that), You are banished. You are dead in the eyes of all in this town. If you ever come back they will do what I am stopping them from doing now. No words, no begging. See if you can at least take this punishment like a true Dwarf. Go!"

"Head down I ran. I kept running, well walking actually until I came to the next town. The Crossing. There while trying a few things I had picked up in order for me not to starve, I found myself under wing of one Aonghus. He taught me all I needed to know for a young thief. I took to it like a duck to water. The rest as they say is history. Ima thief. allways have been, allways will be."

"Now you have heard my past. Thats my story. I have many other stories I can tell, but for now this will suffice."
