Bone Wolves were hitting me pretty consistently with Shield/Evasion/Parry 53 - 55 as armor/survival tertiary in a single armor type. Large Edged hit consistently at 53; Heavy Thrown about 50/50 at 44. Defensives probably need to be closer to 60 before attempting them.
