Alayle Threadneedle is a tall stoop-shouldered man with short grey hair and a narrow pinched face. He is dressed in a stunning outfit of azure velvet sewn with silver thread and faced with pearl buttons and clasps. Although he seems fawning and obsequious when dealing with customers, his attitude towards his staff is haughty and demanding.
