end-blown plains flute of polished cedar
Look: Popular with the Wind Elf tribes, the plains flute is constructed with two chambers. The top, or slow, chamber is about the length of a clenched fist and acts as a secondary resonator which gives the flute its distinctive sound, while the longer bottom chamber has the whistle and six finger holes. A block of ebonwood, carved in the shape of a bear, has been lashed to the top chamber leaving a narrow channel through which air passes to the lower chamber.
