I know that this is kind of an old topic, but I happened across Kortny's post/information regarding True Song. As for the whereabouts of the blade, I haven't heard of it going past anyone other than Trul, so it may well be vaulted somewhere.

Here it is:
From April 2000

As some of you know I was honored to be given a special blade to hold in trust for the guild. The name of that blade was enscribed along its length "True Song". The blade was brought to the bard's guild by a man who claimed that it belonged to a bard that his family gave shelter to during the Dragon Priest wars. The mans parents and the bard where betrayed and drug out into the street and killed. The young boy survived by hiding. The bards things where all destroyed or stolen but for some reason his blade was left untouched. When the blade was given to me in the guild it seemed to find some comfort in the touch of a bard. Since I am not actively in the guild at the moment I have passed the trust of the blade over to Trul. It is my belief that no person owns such an item but only carries it for a time. Anyway here is the story of its history as told to me and how I have always passed it on.

You say, "This is the History of "True Song" as related to me by Silvyrfrost."

You say, "Around one thousand years ago, before the Dragon Priests over threw their leader and became the dark force they are now. Before the Bard guild was mostly destroyed, there where many strong and proud bards that roamed the land seeing to the soul of the people."

You say, "During this time there was a dwarven holt deep in the Dragonspire Mountains that was famous for the quality of its work. Unfortunatly, fame sometimes brings attention that is unwanted."

You say, ""A dark necromancer raised an evil army and sent it surround the holt. The army of undead was great and the entire mountain was surrounded by fiends, spirits, and great monstors of darkness. All that tried to leave where killed swiftly. Now the time of year was winter and the trade routes where closed until the thaw of spring so help would be long in comming.""

You say, "The Dwarven holt was nestled fast in a mountain, with gates that where strongly made so the defenders where able to stop the initial asaults. But the toil of their dead rose because the undead seemed able to always slip in a few of their kinds. And everyone slept with weapons nearby."

You say, "A troupe of bards had come to spend the winter with the Dwarves and where trapped inside also. During that time the powers of a bard where greater than they are now because of the losses from the slaughter of most of our guild. They worked long and hard and discovered a way, to wrap a song around themselves and walk through the enemy. "

You say, "This small troupe of eight bards could hide themselves but not their tracks so at dawn the enemy saw that someone had left the holt and sent the faster elements of their army to pursue. The bards having slipped through the army still had to face a few weeks of treachous travel through the snow filled passes. "

You say, "They saw the pursuers comming from behind, and each time they would draw close. One would stay behind and call up dreadful illusions with song to slow the undead. "

You say, "Eventually, only two bards where left having left their food and supplies behind to travel faster. They finally made it to the Southern Trade route, where some traders helped them. They spread the news far and wide and a great army of dwarves came togather and dug their way to the holt. After the two armies battled for a few days, the army of the undead was defeated and the holt freed."

You say, "The dwarves of the holt extremly greatful for the sacrifice of the bards, they gathered the best ores, and craftsment, and created twenty weapons of extreme beauty for the guild. Each weapon was given its, own name and some have whispered magic. "

You say, "If one survived the thousand years, it is likely that others out there are seeking to come back to the hands of bards also."
